Four games, four wins, what's not to like in life when you're a Duck? Morpheus is tied in the league for leading the league in sacks at four, equaling a sack per game.  Genuinely, there are few things to be upset about.  However, there are few mindsets more dangerous in life than the mindset of the plateau. When you think you've done enough, when you settle for early success, that is the most dangerous mindset.  Success comes from hard work and an exhausting grind.  When the early taste of success hits the tongue, that's not the time to revel in it, it is the time to increase the workload. After all, iron sharpens iron, so early success only means that harder work will yield greater rewards.  Remember, every time you're on the couch, there is somebody out there working harder than you.  So, maybe Morpheus has gotten four sacks in four games, but that doesn't mean that O-Line players aren't going to be hitting the gym hard in anticipation of future games.  Always assume that your opponents are out to get you.  So in as this season progresses, mind-set, intelligence, and stamina are the areas that Morpheus is going to be working on.  Only be further refining ones skill set can one achieve the sizzle.  And only with the sizzle, can Morpheus win Defensive Rookie of the Year.

Sal Ami has had a better than expected first half of the season. I am really excited and happy about it. The biggest thing Sal is going to be work on in the second half of the season is his run after the catch. Right now Sal is operating as a safety blanket for the offense and is recording quite a few catches each game for short yardage.

Moving forward we need more yards after the catch to help move the chains. We want to be a player that other teams’ defensive coordinators have to game plan for each week. Working on agility will help us get there. Right now we are getting our hands up to par, but otherwise we are doing agility drills.
To gain agility, Sal will be doing training that only Sal can do. Riding a bike with a hot dog attached to the front, jumping in the pool and having a beer on the other side to incentivize quicker swimming. These aren’t helping his weight issues but are some of the only ways to keep him motivated. His favorite agility drill is doing quick side steps at a buffet table going side to side adding more and more to his plate.
Hopefully these drills help him get his yards after reception up in the second half of the season.

Darren Pama is not lacking in many places this season, in fact he's probably on the short list for Wide Receiver of the year at this point, but there are a couple places where he could be doing a little better. Those specific areas are his catch rate and his pancake rate; while he's no longer playing at the Tight End position, there are a number of wide receivers with a decent chunk more pancakes, most notably Delacour with 6 more. He also does not have the best catch rate, having been targeted a decent number more than his current 37 reception count; while this hasn't kept him from being in the running for Wide Receiver of the Year at the halfway point, if he had caught more he'd be far and away in the lead right now. He's promised to the rest of his team to do a large variety of catching drills in the run-up to the upcoming game with the Sailfish, where Darren Pama will have to be at the top of his game in order to help his team with what should be their toughest challenge of the season so far. He wants to make life easier for his prospective MVP quarterback, not harder.

As Douglas Quaid gets up there in age, it gets more difficult getting off to a fast start in the regular season as well as each game. Muscles are sore, joints are stiff and make popping sounds, past injuries make the bones ache. It was very difficult for Quaid to get in shape this offseason. Age really took a big bite out of him physically as well as mentally. In the first game of the season Quaid only had two tackles. It felt like he was slow to react and took too much time getting to the ball carrier. In past years even if Quaid didn’t get to the QB on a blitz, he would at least get close enough to change the play. Older Quaid has been left in no man’s land far too often. To combat this loss of athleticism, Quaid has to think ahead, he has to anticipate the play in order to have a better reaction to it. By the looks of it the Wraiths will be in a tough fight for a playoff spot this season. Every game will be huge. Every series within those games will be important. Quaid improving his play would absolutely help the Wraiths win games. Quaid has to hit the film room harder and scout opposing offenses more instead of just reacting to what happens on the field. In a blink of an eye the season is half over and Beniri T'Chawama is not doing half bad. In his 4 regular season games with the Dallas Birddogs, he has helped the team to 2 wins, but also was there for 2 losses (apparently the Birddogs don't like to play at home). In the 4 games, T'Chawama has 48 attempts, 254 yards gained, and 2 touchdowns. This puts him at an average of 5.3 yards with his longest run at 18 yards. It's pretty clear that T'Chawama has to work on longer yardage to compete with the likes of Johns and Baker who have about 20 more attempts and 100 to 200 more yards gained. To do so, I would say Beniri has to work on his agility so he can quickly change directions and turn away from his opponents. Then once he has that up, being a little more competitive would not hurt either. Beniri has already worked a lot on his speed, strength, and endurance so far.

To improve on his agility and competitiveness, Beniri plans on working more closely with his coach and teammates to put in the practice on footwork and in-game experience. The latter makes scrimmages really important as T'Chawama is only in his first season in the DSFL so he needs that experience. Although, as for agility, his trainer has set aside 3 specialized practices a week to improve that in particular, with additional exercises and drills for Beniri to do on his own time. Let's just hope that the training for agility and competitiveness will come in time as the season closes to it's end.

Well here we are in S30 and my player, Buffalo Hunter of the Sabercats, could improve pretty much everything right now. What a bum! From not getting open, running bad routes, having frypans for hands and seemingly wearing cement cleats, he has proven to be a massive disappointment in his rookie season in San Jose.
Let's quickly look at his stats so far, before we select just one aspect that he wants, no needs, to improve by the end of the season.
8 Games - 8 Receptions - 46 yards - 1 TD - 7 Pancakes.........I think I'm going to be sick. That's a decent stat line, if you're looking at one game. But after 8 games, good lord.

Okay, so the time has come to pick one area to boost by seasons end. With both Strength and Speed maxed, I suppose the area of most need will be hands in order to make the most of the very few targets I'll be seeing with the teams #1 TE, Lewandowski taking the lions share, and deservingly so. Both Intelligence and Agility will also be in demand but I think catching the ball is the priority for now. If a target comes my way, I need to catch the damn thing, then run. Even if it is at the speed of an arthritic turtle. I'm trying to contribute however I can this season and while the Sabercats front office is a good group, even their patience has limitations.

The obvious stat that jumps out to me that I need to improve is my average yardage per rush. 3.9 yards per carry isn't going to cut it, especially when I'm a part of a two-man backfield sharing carries with  Yaji  Robe. Overall, I think my season has been fine. I would've loved to have won/been nominated for OROY but when Ken Oath and Beniri T'Chawama who are both ahead of me in TPE switched to RB I knew I was kind of doomed. The first season is always the most difficult because it's the one where you have the least amount of TPE and each update is highly important so focusing on getting a solid base underneath your player as a rookie should be your min focus. With such low TPE, your stats are obviously going to suffer. You just need to hope that your stats improve as your TPE improves. That's how I feel at the moment when it comes to my stats. I'm not ecstatic about them but I'm not disappointed in them either.

I'd also like for the Coyotes record to be a bit better. We've lost a  few really close games and that tie really hurts. If I don't have a chance at an induvial award, I'd at least like to win the division or make a deep playoff run but that seems unlikely for us at the moment.

While I am having an incredible season, with 27 catches, 359 yards and 4 touchdowns, you can always build on yourself as a player. I look at myself and see that I didn't have a lot of big catches to start the season. So I definitely need to improve my speed as a player. These defenders have 4.5, even 4.4 speed nowadays, so you always gotta keep your head aware of the situation, whether you are just blocking or running four verticals. I can improve that with drills such as having someone pull me back with a band as I keep running forward/in place. It is what Tyreek Hill did and look at him! Olympic Sprinter speed right there. While I don't think I'll be sub 4.35 speed, I'll still be in the high 4.3 low 4.4 range when the draft starts to roll around, hopefully by the end of the season if I do it correctly. Another underrated rating is Intelligence, I think if I improve that, it will really show defenders that I'm a smart, high IQ receiver who can beat anyone in a 1v1, Zone, Cover 2 man, all the playbook, just impossible versus me. I think my game is very well rounded, but yes, I have flaws just like you, it's human, and I can always improve them.

Honestly, I'd have been kinda stupid to go into the season with crazy high expectations or anything like that, just because I'm a rookie and probably the lowest ranked linebacker in the pecking order for the Outlaws. But even with that in mind, things haven't gone too bad and I can't really be too disappointed in the way that things have come together for Marcus so far. He's been a useful contributor on a team that's won all of the games its played so far this season, and has definitely pitched in with 3 sacks in the 8 games that he's played in so far in his career. It's definitely something that will have helped the team out, and I think Marcus has done a pretty good job so far in terms of establishing himself as the type of player who can really bring something to his team and make a contribution at this high level. The main thing that stands out as needing improvement is the tackles he's put in; 25 in 8 games isn't really the pace I was hoping for, so it would be good to see Marcus pick that up by the end of the year and end the season on a high note.

The young DSFL career of Sconnie McHits has been up and down so far. I am currently second in the league in tackles, largely because of how often my team has been on defense, but I am really looking to make more impact plays. Interceptions, forced fumbles, fumble recoveries, sacks, and tackles for loss have left something to be desired, and I will continue to hit the weight room, learn from my coaches and fellow players, and rack up that sweet, sweet TPE in order to become more of a play maker as the season goes on.

Luckily for me, I have a nice rabbit I am chasing, as in the index's DRoTY race, I currently sit behind the god-bot himself, FiveDucks In'ATrenchcoat, defensive end for Minnesota. FiveDucks has been a dominating presence so far, posting 3 sacks, a safety, and a forced fumble. In order to beat him out (and save my dignity from losing out on an award to a bot), the grind must continue!

I have fellow teammates who are putting up numbers, as well! Hououin Kyouma has two interceptions at this point of the season and Nathan Claflin has three tackles for loss, two sacks, and a fumble recovery. I just need to stay confident, keep working hard, and know that, while "sim gonna sim", the stats will come.
