I think it delays it. A contract still has to be signed with an NSFL team before being sent back down. It does get rid of "this is my team" though. So yeah, I guess it solves the majority of this. *Something to remember for the s3 draft prospects - ErMurazor - 08-31-2017 (08-31-2017, 10:52 AM)HalfEatenOnionBagel Wrote:Ok but you and the other people making these "recruitment" articles are part of the problem. I understand you're proud of your team and deservedly so and you may want to try and woo some free agents but it comes across as oh hey s3 rookies do what you can to come to our team and basically all they can do to do that is threaten a holdout. As somebody that has already started a sizable article to get in on the "talking up your team" trend. Oops. Mind does have a discouraging statement towards holding out though... *Something to remember for the s3 draft prospects - Perry87 - 08-31-2017 (08-31-2017, 01:38 PM)7hawk77 Wrote:As a Co-GM, I'd rather players be upfront on who they want to play for. Drafting a player that doesn't want to be on your team can cause massive headaches with contracts and activity. What? That never happens, and certainly would never happen in Philadelphia *Something to remember for the s3 draft prospects - 4D Chess - 08-31-2017 (08-31-2017, 12:03 PM)Deusolis Wrote:Being serious, I think there's a pretty stark difference between privately indicating you'd prefer to play for a team and writing a piece saying you refuse to go Totally agree. This is the real problem, if you don't want to play for a team just PM the GM and let them know. *Something to remember for the s3 draft prospects - bovovovo - 08-31-2017 (08-31-2017, 01:13 PM)ErMurazor Wrote:It should help if players are never put into a LR and then pulled out to be drafted. Yeah I think that's the biggest thing. Maybe prospects that are signed as free agents don't get access to the LR? Going forward though I think you'd expect teams to be signing less prospect free agents as we get more players and rosters get more filled up, no? *Something to remember for the s3 draft prospects - iamslm22 - 08-31-2017 (08-31-2017, 12:52 PM)HalfEatenOnionBagel Wrote:Ok but you and the other people making these "recruitment" articles are part of the problem. In a league that encourages hold outs you have to have good PR about your team, ESPECIALLY given that there are trolls constantly spreading misinformation about us. *Something to remember for the s3 draft prospects - ErMurazor - 08-31-2017 (08-31-2017, 11:20 AM)bovovovo Wrote:Yeah I think that's the biggest thing. They go to the DSFL and get a LR there. Then they're drafted by NSFL teams that own their rights. *Something to remember for the s3 draft prospects - Molarpistols - 08-31-2017 Starting in S4, at least from my understanding, is that no NSFL will have access to waiver players that are waiting for their draft. They will instead go to the DSFL. The only waivers for NSFL teams will be already drafted free agents. *Something to remember for the s3 draft prospects - Deusolis - 08-31-2017 (08-31-2017, 01:13 PM)ErMurazor Wrote:It should help if players are never put into a LR and then pulled out to be drafted. I think that's the root of the problem. We drop guys in LRs and let them settle onto teams only to say "You'll probably have to leave your friends and potentially go to Vegas." With the exception of the few guys that aren't as "loyalty" focused, that creates a recipe for disaster |
