(S3) - PT #2 - Lucky Charms - PigSnout - 09-18-2017 The day before the NSFL draft, Boss Tweed purchased a red top hat at a yard sale. At the time it did not seem very significant. However, the very next day, he was drafted by the Colorado Yeti, whose primary color is red. Coincidence? Tweed didn't think so. Now he wears that hat to every game as he enters the stadium. Here is a picture of Tweed wearing the hat. ![]() (I added the hat and recolored the uniform) (S3) - PT #2 - Lucky Charms - Daybe - 09-18-2017 Brice Boggs has many pregame rituals he completes before every game. He wakes up at 3 AM on game day after sleeping at 5 PM in order to get 10 hours of rest for gameday. First, in the morning, he makes himself a dozen bacon strips, eight servings of scrambled eggs, and six hashbrowns. He usually eats all of it, but when he doesn't, he gives them to his husky, Lucky. He then takes his dog, Lucky, for a quick jog, along with some ball chasing exercises. When Boggs is doing this, he is studying his surroundings very carefully, like a linebacker has to do in a live game situation, in order to read the play and make a stop. Then, Boggs goes to the Yeti practice facility. He puts in a few good hours of hard work from 4:30 AM - 7:00 AM doing various agility drills and bench presses, then heads home. He microwaves a bowl of pasta and eats a high carb snack. Next, he plays NSFL 2K03 for a few hours. "Practicing in-game situations is extremely hard by yourself. You can replicate that experience with the controller." At 9 AM, he heads to the Colorado Yeti stadium. He gets there early, does stretching exercises, and takes three laps all around the outer ring of the stadium (In the seats). He then heads back into the locker and puts on his pads and has another high-energy snack (Various bottles with different hues of "Gatorade" and protein bars) before he joins the team in warm-ups. 258 words (S3) - PT #2 - Lucky Charms - BOOM™ - 09-18-2017 Pre-game ritual is a steak shaped like Texas for some reason, a 100 Grand Bar and a can of Orange Blossom Beer, a habit I have picked up since moving to the OC. We also eat a lot of carrots and oranges for some reason as well. ![]() Edited: Jersey color, beer can and candy bar. (S3) - PT #2 - Lucky Charms - RedCydranth - 09-18-2017 Marc has only two things in his locker that anyone could consider a "Lucky Charm". First is his plush doll of Sammy the Owl, which has been rumored to be haunted or possessed by some unknown force. Nobody in the locker room dares touch Sammy out of fear of being cursed. Last person to touch Sammy was Franklin Harris Sr. The next day it was reported that he had committed murder and was being arrested. One time a janitor picked him up because he was mysteriously sitting on top of the water cooler on one of the team's days off. The Janitor went insane and moved to Manitoba to join a cult known as "Followers of the Cube". Marc is the only person who touches it without any harm coming to them. The other item is even more mysterious. It is a rock with a Gemini symbol engraved into it. It appeared this year during preseason. Marc brings in with him to the sideline during every game in a knapsack. What exactly it does for him, why he likes it so much or how he obtained it is a great mystery. Like with Sammy, Marc insists that nobody touch it or even stare at it for too long. I'm not saying he is completely hammered by the start of the game, but he certainly is feeling pretty good about himself. Would some say that this might be a problem for him and his team? Probably. But he has produced enough to stay in the league and help his team. Is it possible that the Otters and Liberty traded Krimlaw knowing full well he had been drinking before games? Maybe, but Krimlaw is sort of like Andre the Giant when he has a few, it's hard to tell and he still performs at the highest level. Other than drinking before the game, Krimlaw smashes 2 Monster Energy drinks just minutes before kick off, to give him the energy he needs to pump up the team and make plays. Are these the habits of a player who will be in the league for a long time? Probably not, but you know that for the short term, he is putting it all out there. Look for his new team the Yetis to start monitoring his pre game routine and possibly give him a stint on the bench if he doesn't change a little. (S3) - PT #2 - Lucky Charms - AsylumParty - 09-19-2017 Dustin Evans has no superstitions because he's not ridiculous, however, there is a particular tradition he partakes in. Following a week of entirely invested practice and workouts, he prefers to reward himself with a trip to Koizi, a Chinese buffet where he treats himself to all you can eat hibachi, as well as all you can eat sushi. By now, it has been five years that Evans has been practicing this tradition. All of last year, up through his ultimus championship and to celebrate his signing of a six million dollar contract. It didn't start in the nsfl though. This started his freshman year of college when he happened to discover this fantastic restaurant by way of his friends. When making his initial trip out to Arizona to speak with coach Dwyer, one of the first questions that Evans asked was whether or not the coach had ever been to Koizi before. When he learned he had not, Evans saw his opportunity! That's exactly where they decided to go to discuss a possible future for Evans in Arizona. So many life decisions have been made there, and so many milestones celebrated there. Endless sushi and hibachi will forever be a part of Evans life. (S3) - PT #2 - Lucky Charms - MacTonight - 09-19-2017 While William Ridley doesn't have a ritual to speak of; he does have a meticulous method of preparing for a game. The night before kick off Ridley eats a high carb meal, usually a nice pasta dish to provide the energy needed for the following day. Ridley will perform a comprehensive stretching routine before bed, taking in the views of whichever city he is in before turning in for an early night. Waking up at the crack of dawn Ridley eats a grilled chicken breast and egg whites for breakfast, reviewing his coaches notes, and studying the game plan one last time before heading to the stadium. If it's a home game he will arrive early, walking the field as the concession stands are being set up. He visualises the coming game, he pictures his matc up, he studies them in his mind, as the fans start to roll in Ridley moves back into the locker room to spend time with the guys. With an away game he'll jog or go for a walk with a team mate he hasnt got to know so well yet, and chat about the coming game before the bus ride to the stadium. Once arrived he'll find his locker and prepare for warm ups. As soon as he steps out onto the field in his game pants he's in the hands of his coaches. He'll play hard, work to the best of his ability, and try his best to get the win for his team. (S3) - PT #2 - Lucky Charms - ralz9 - 09-19-2017 Nicholas Pierno has had the same tradition since playing high school ball in North Carolina. The morning of every game, it’s a McGriddle and hashbrowns from McDonald’s. “I won’t lie, I normally can’t stand McDonald’s,” Pierno said, “but the breakfast is so, so, so good. It really does fuel me. He chuckled: “This isn’t an ad, though, unless McDonald’s wants to cut the check.” Before each game, he takes a warm shower to loosen up, listens to music in the locker room—his phone on airplane mode to avoid distractions—and does his handshake with Jaquan Young, a fellow rookie wide receiver that plays in Colorado as well. Before stepping onto the field, Pierno laces up his cleats all the way, unties them all the way, and then ties them back up again before the studs make contact with the turf. When he returns to the lockerroom to suit up for game play, the last step is putting on the signature eyeblack he wears during every game—a “7” beneath each eye. “I’m not a huge guy, so I’ll take any chance I can take to look a little more intimidating,” Pierno chuckled. Then is game time. In high school and college, Pierno carried the North Carolina state flag as the team came out of the tunnel. Now, he carries the Colorado flag with pride. (S3) - PT #2 - Lucky Charms - timeconsumer - 09-19-2017 Much to his teammates' discontent Angus Winchester is very particular about how he prepares for gameday. He doesn't put on his pants until moments before leaving the locker room. Once he enters the facility Angus strips out of his clothes and walks around in his underwear until the game starts. The includes working with the position coaches and his unit in the locker room. This includes during the coach's speech. Even when on the road and visiting other teams' facilities he refuses to wear anything besides his underwear until moments before it's time to hit the field. The coaching staff and other players have begged and pleaded with their star left tackle to please put some damn clothes on. He doesn't do it. One game in season 2 his teammate Dominick Verns attempted to hide Winchester's underwear, hoping that it would force him to put on his pants earlier. That plan backfired miserably. Angus Winchester simply walked around in the buff instead. He even claimed he enjoyed it more and was considering that for future game preparation. Verns quickly folded and threw the drawers at Winchester to get rid of the view. After last night's performance though, it is very unlikely that anyone will question him again. (S3) - PT #2 - Lucky Charms - cosbornballboy - 09-19-2017 "What does Ricardo Sandoval do before game time? Does Ricardo Sandoval have a lucky charm?" These are the types of questions you can find being asked after a fantastic performance by Ricardo Sandoval, exclusively asked by the members of entertainment media, and even with the jokes of journalism asking these questions, they are still surprisingly half-decent questions. When we asked Sandoval, he replied to the "what does he do" questions with this: "Everyday before a game, I like to get some In n Out flown in on the team plane that @HENDRIX let's us use to get stuff exclusively from our home cities, states, etc. laughs I've seen Turk @Raven fly in Gooey Butter Cake, Erasmo flying in some Barnaby's @evryday, and once, when Owen didn't have the time to stop, he ordered some crab cakes to be flown in frim the other side of Maryland  " His response to his good luck charm? "Every single game I play, my undershirt under my pads is my Aztecs jersey from the first game I played in at San Diego State. Just a reminder to never forget where I come from." When it comes to pre-game superstitions, the Hawks seem to rule the bunch. Code: 204 words |
