People are going oooo second rounder but how many second rounders aren't in key positions? Trey Willie, Charlie Law, Francois, Eidur, Archetype...they all seem to be doing pretty damn well.

Rebuilding team trades away expensive, good players, and have a ton of cap space and a bunch of picks. They decide, "hey, I'll take a chance and talk to this free agent a couple days before FA opens". They've got lots of picks to cover the loss of one 2nd rounder, and lots of cap space to cover the 5 mil, so why not take a chance on nabbing a good FA.
I don't know if anyone considers the Wraiths as a rebuilding team. Considering they've got a few free agents coming up that will surely be offered more this will be a big blow to their team

It was brought to light that he had offered to do things behind the scenes, while not being officially listed as a GM.

How do you know he didn't mean behind the scenes as a member of the Wraiths (if he were to be re-acquired)?
A bunch of our own players help "behind the scenes" with strategies etc.
If it's not that, than this is absolutely absurd for TLK to even think this up...

I never said they were. I said this precedent of tampering punishment is not a deterrent, especially to a rebuilding team, who would have a plethora of both picks and cap space, losing 1 pick out of maybe 5 or 6 in the top few rounds is not a huge deal if they can get a player by tampering them before they hit FA.
