Still coming off of my Ultimus winning high, it was nice to see that the team still had an eye to the future. The pick I personally am most excited for is Ryan Sierra. Any time you add a big offensive lineman to protect me, I am going to be a happy man. Sierra had a great career in the DSFL, and to see a player of his caliber fall to us puts a smile on my face. It means that the front office is still dedicated to protecting their offensive assets, and that makes me happy once gameday arrives. I think that fortifying our offensive line will protect us against some of these violent defenses that have been popping up. I know that this season we will go from adorable loser to the team everyone will grow to hate and want to take down. I want to win every time we take the field and I hope that we can make our fans happy and keep on winning. The most important thing to me has always been winning, and Ryan Sierra means that this teams is dedicated to winning not only now in the present, but for many years down the line.

Fresh off winning the draft, there was no question I had to profile one of the stellar Las Vegas Legion rookies for this point task. With Terrell Brister and Fresh Booter already the subjects of myriad profiles I decided to dig down the draft board a bit and highlight the future hall of fame kicker, Peg Leg.

First of all, what a stellar fucking name. Peg Leg. Recent studies have shown that 77% of NSFL success stems from the player's name so Peg Leg is a god damn steal at 21st overall. Best name of the draft by far and there are going to be 7 teams kicking themselves (pun intended) for not taking him when they had the chance.

Second of all, you have to love his efficiency. He kicked 0 times and punted just 87 last season so that peg leg is going to be freaky fresh going forward. Unlike other bums who wasted their leg on silly things like "field goals" and "extra points" Peg Leg said fuck that and only punted. Truly a stroke of genius. That intelligence can't be taught, people.

And finally, my last and strongest point: his longest punt was 69 yards. Nice.

Gregory Fletcher is a future star who was put in a great position to succeed. The second pick of the Baltimore Hawks is one that is sure to make a splash both early in his career and down the stretch. There was a lot of excitement surrounding the S5 draft class, and rightfully so. Potential superstars will be debuting on both sides of the football this year, and the rookies will do everything ranging from being the new face of the franchise to being the potential final piece in the Ultimus puzzle. For Fletcher, the situation couldn't be more favorable. He's going to a team with a winning history and players in front of him at the same position. He'll see the field constantly, but won't be thrown to the wolves and torched early in his career. He'll have the time to develop into one of the leagues premier players, winning a ton of games while doing it.

The Hawks are coming off of a down year that ended in absolute heartbreak, but before that they were perennial Ultimus contenders, and should pick right back up from there this year. They added a difference maker on each side of the ball through the draft, and put themselves in an excellent position to win it all soon. Fletcher is very active, a great locker room presence, and an absolute baller on the field. Everyone in the league, and certainly not just in the Hawks locker room, will be rooting for him to win many championships.

Quote:Written: Must include 200 words. With the new season starting soon and the draft tonight(or it has already passed) write about which rookie in S5 (or S3 DSFL) excites you the most. Write about what team they could go to and help, or how they can help the team that drafted them.

Dean Jackson. Dean fricking Jackson, the arizona native boy ends up being draft 5th overall by the Arizona Outlaws. What a great feat for a kicker to be drafted so high in the draft. I am proud of lil' Jackson. Back in my days kickers went in the 11th+ rounds, now they go 5th hah.

Right so lets talk right yeah? Dean Jackson is going to be replacing Christiano Ronaldo, one of the best kickers in the league, after he got caught in the middle of a massive scandal.

With Ronaldo you were sure your team would secure the extra point and field goals the teams would receive. Ronaldo benefitted heavily from Arizona's strong offensive plays and often had extra points to make. After the Arizona scandals their offense probably won't be in par with what it was last season. So it's expected that they'll score less points this year. If that's the case then Jackson won't be banging home 50 extra points a season.

However Jackson is a great kicker and I expect him to make most of the kicks and that's how Jackson is going to help the Outlaws who were struck and lost out of many players. Good kicking percentages and a great player overall.

I've had some great receivers as teammates. Damian West, Cooper Christmas, Matthew Vincent, Stormblessed, Trey Willie ... all great players. Tough to get the better of any of these dudes in practice. These are all guys who contributed heavily to my development as a cornerback, and I'll never stop rising to the challenges they bring each and every day.

Watching the draft this year, I was excited. I knew there was another name in a long line of talented receivers who have come through Baltimore. Who have trained and played at The Aviary. Who have contributed to my journey. This guy basically won everything there is to win at DSFL level, and there was a good chance Gordon Gekko would pull the trigger with the number three pick to bring him here. And he did. When I heard that the Hawks had selected John Wachter with the #3 pick, I jumped and punched the air. That's a guy who can take an already talented offense to another level. That's a guy who will come in and contribute immediately, a guy whose sheer talent will force myself and Darnell Turner to step our game up.

I joked on twitter that I love and hate Gekko for this pick. Love him because it takes the Hawks higher. It makes us all better players. Hate him because man, practice sessions just got a whole lot tougher.

Since three of my players from the Portland Pythons went in the first round, it’s hard for me to really pick a rookie in S5 that excites me the most. John, Cameron, and Carlito know how I feel about them so to remain impartial, I’ll have to go with Dean Jackson (@run_CMC) from the Tijuana Luchadores. Kickers aren’t highly regarded even though they account for most of the points on the field and are critical to a teams’ success. I believe Dean Jackson getting picked 5th overall illustrates that the Outlaws really needed a kicker and got one of the best ones in the DSFL. Jackson is a workhorse and has been cranking out media from the start giving attention to himself and his special team peers. Last season he was an impressive 100% on XPM and 88% for field goals overall. He made an impressive 51 yarder and is very dependable inside the 40. I think the Outlaws made an excellent choice because of his work ethic, character, and player build overall. You could not ask for anything else from an active player. He is going to be the type of player who can salvage the Outlaw franchise and turn it into a respectable organization again after the Er scandal.

The one player I am excited to see play in the NSFL is that of Ryan Sierra of the Orange County Otters. Ryan Sierra is someone that came into the league as an Offensive Lineman, but there is common belief in the Orange County Otters locker room that there is going to be a change of positions with Ryan Sierra. I think that will seriously leave the possibilities endless. Being on the San Jose SaberCats, it certainly will be interesting to see Ryan Sierra a couple times a year and possibly in the playoffs. He played really well in the DSFL in which he learned a lot in which he will take into the NSFL. I am not sure where he will be going in terms of position, but I could not be more excited to see what he will do this season for them. I think he's going to have a huge impact. Looking back, I think Ryan Sierra is going to be a steal and a half for the Orange County Otters. He has been a consistent worker that will do anything to improve. He is going to be great and I look forward to facing him on the field.

I'm looking forward to seeing how Carlito Crush will do for the Yeti during his rookie season. Nicholas Pierno has struggled during his first 2 years as quarterback of the Yeti since he hasn't had a top tier receiving threat during those years. However, with Crush he will now have a big new threat in the receiving game. However, Crush will not only contribute as a receiver. He can also contribute when he isn't catching passes. Crush can also excel as a blocker which will give Pierno more time to pass and give the other receivers time to get open and will open up holes for Boss Tweed in the running game. In addition to being able to fill a dynamic role, Crush has already shown that he will be able to reach his top potential as he has a very strong work ethic and is the top TPE earner in this draft class. The Yeti saw these many desirable qualities in Carlito Crush prior to the draft, which is why they chose to make him their pick at the #1 slot in the draft. I'm excited to see what type of impact he can make this year both for the Yeti as a team and for my player with his run blocking skills. Carlito Crush is going to come in and be a major part of the Yeti's offense from day 1 as a rookie.

Willy “The Science Guy” Nyquist, is gonna be the the best DSFL player to ever touch the big skin. BELIEVE ME! He’s gonna run the ball. He’s gonna catch the ball. He’s even gonna pass the ball. He is going to be HUGE! Believe me! HUGE! The kid is ripped, jacked, dense, thicc, built. Whatever you wanna call it. He has got it. His legs are thicker than my chest and his shoulders are wider than my wingspan. He is gonna be making full use of his frame. This kid is a bonafide stallion. He’s gonna be servin up touch downs left and right and there is nothing anyone can do to stop him. The only way that any team is gonna stop this kid is if they build a wall around him and BELIEVE ME, they’re gonna try to build a wall around him and they’re gonna get the other teams pay for the wall! Nyquist is gonna be able to come in and impact any team that drafts him right off the bat. No one gives this kid much stock but BELIEVE ME! He’s gonna run the table and every team that does not draft him is going to regret it. HE’S GONNA BE HUGE
