I enjoy participating in the forum, but figuring out stories and other narratives on the website can be kind of hard. The hardest thing about being semi-active because of school/work is that I haven't found an easy way to stay in touch about all the stories that are going on in the league. This also affects the way one can answer/participate in certain point tasks. I believe that if the twitter venture is a success that this problem can be kind of fixed since a person could just check their phone and find out a little about what is going on. I think that twitter could possibly show a little emotion from the characters which would be able to produce some possibly funny/interesting narratives or rivalries. Hopefully I can become or feel more involved even though there is a lot that I need to do outside the forum.

Honestly, I'm not really one to get frustrated easily, and I can't really think of a certain time in the NSFL where I got frustrated over some drama. Usually if I do get frustrated it's over the dumb sim program or inexplicably losing a game that we should have won. I have recently experienced a kind of "retro active" frustration at the Legion mass retirement, but as a GM that's had to pick up the pieces. At the time I didn't think it was a huge deal, just basic internet shenanigans and I'll admit I joined in on the memeing and maybe jumped to some conclusions that I shouldn't have, but then coming in as a GM I really saw how much that mass retirement gutted the team. Before that retirement, the Legion were on the up and up and had pieces to build upon for the future (specifically on defense), but the retirement removed a lot of that. It's been a fun challenge for sure though.

There are a lot of things to frustratrd with, and as the head office we understand. But if you're asking me what I'm most frustrated with, I have to agree with John Wachter. People complaining about the league, or more relevant to me, complaining about the head office, is an always brutal and annoying trend. It's one thing if we've done something wrong, but telling me that we don't care, or we don't do enough is insane. The head office took over the simming and streaming role. Why did we do that? Because we wanted to? Because we thought it would be fun? No! Because our last two head streamers totally ghosted on us. At least Roly told us he got busy with school, but this job is so miserable that it's lead people to quitting the league or retiring their player in dramatic fashion. It's a completely difficult and annoying job, and creating two teams from scratch like we had to do is a ton of work. So I get the complaints, but please realize what we're doing for the league.

A very frustrating situation that I was very close to was the Noble scandal. Our team was OK, and then our best player, THE best player in the league in terms of TPE, just got suspended. As the GM of the team, I didn't know what to do. Combine that with other stuff that had been going on with the Yeti, and I was contemplating stepping down from the position. Not only that, but I was shocked that Noble would do this. NFSL was my first sim league, I didn't know about his SHL reputation as the Multi God. Noble was someone I respected, helped me out from my first day in the NSFL. To see him do this changed my whole view on the league. Fortunately, we were able to get Nicholas Pierno, and we have been able to build a team that I am excited for in the future. But that will never take away the pain of what happened.

Life has been pretty good for Eric Kennedy lately. Admittedly, though, it hasn’t always been that way. After a disappointing performance in the S2 prospect games, he was drafted as an afterthought and put into an easily forgettable role at Fullback. He had a great team around him, but the bar was high. He found himself alongside S1 MVP Bubba Nuck, who he would have to somehow replace if he ever hoped to achieve his goal of starting as the team’s Running Back. He worked on his receiving skills to help stand out elsewhere, but he was still on the field with superstar receivers Josh Garden and Bailey Cook as well as the GOAT Tight End Ricky Maddox. He was a man walking among giants. It was a privilege to play along such great athletes, but Kennedy came from a featured role during his college days at LSU and giving up the spotlight is a tough task for anyone.

It’s no wonder drama quickly unfolded over Kennedy’s first term with Yellowknife. Rumors of jealousy toward Bubba Nuck came out rather early. He had already earned himself a bad reputation in prospect camp and these allegations played right into that. Word was going around in some circles toward the end of S2 that even Wraiths Quarterback Chris Orosz was unhappy with the aspiring Running Back and had chosen to avoid looking his way during parts of the season. Kennedy worked to clean up his reputation, but made a crucial mistake toward the end of S3 as he revealed that his feelings toward Nuck were still an issue and that he was contemplating moving to Free Agency to chase the starting role “he deserved”.

It took a while for that drama to blow over, but Kennedy’s managed to keep his hands clean as of late, mostly by avoiding saying anything at all in public. He closed his blog and let his work on the field do the talking. He’s signed an extension with the team and, after a conversation with Wraths’ owner Spike Crown, he moved into a committee role with Nuck, allowing both men to stand on their own merit. He also serves as a receiver when he’s not locked into an RB1 role, keeping him involved in all aspects of the team’s offense. He’s become a “Jack of All Trades” and it’s made him absolutely vital to the team as many of his teammates moved onto other teams or into new roles. Experts expect Kennedy to have his best season yet ahead. Let’s hope that he continues to keep his mouth shut and stays out of trouble.

For me it’s a couple of things. I don’t know if my character is cursed in the sim or if cornerbacks everywhere are just fucked, but Cushing has had an amazingly bad career. Some of that is due to shitty stat-tracking in the sim, but to be the most active TPE earner in the league for three seasons and never make a Pro Bowl is pretty damn irritating. The second thing is DSFL. Don’t get me wrong, being a DSFL GM is kinda fun. I love competition and this gives me a way to do it. But seeing the back seat it takes to the NSFL makes it more trouble than it’s worth sometimes. For example, despite the DSFL preseason being supposed to start on Tuesday, no DSFL games were simmed until Friday, AFTER the NSFL sims were done, even though NSFL wasn’t scheduled to start until after DSFL. On top of that, we still don’t have the sim file.

Frustration? Oh man this should be easy. Except it's not. I'm sitting here reading what everyone else is frustrated about, and thinking to myself that those things don't bother me that much. So what the hell does bother me? I don't know. Can it be that I am most frustrated by seeing how others are finding things to be frustrated at but I'm not? I think that might be the case. I simply don't care that much about the general goings-on in the league to bother myself with getting angry about it. If you really look back at basically everything I've done in this league over the past 7 months (yeah, that long) it's basically just been a series of shitposts punctuated by mildly intriguing stats pieces and psuedo-GM insights and that's basically it.

So there you have it, I'm not frustrated by anything. I just take what it gives, and I get some laughs out of it, and move on. I love this league, all the crazy fuckers in it, and can't wait for more! :towel:

There's two big things I'm frustrated with

First of all, I'm frustrated with the Er situation. Obviously, as a former GM, this is heartbreaking to me. I thought I had built a truly special dynasty that people would be talking about for years to come after the fact. Instead, it turns out that it was all thanks to multis. To say that is demoralizing is a massive understatement. It's why I stepped down as GM and why my activity in not just NSFL, but in all sim leagues, has taken a massive hit.

Secondly, I am frustrated by the Jefferson trade. I was already pissed when I found out he was returning to the Outlaws, he was easily my least favorite person in all of sim leagues at the time. Then, to up and retire on us, without warning? Coming from a guy who clearly has had a grudge against the Outlaws, i find that suspect, and coming from an HO member, i find that laughable. But oh well, what can you do except leave the league in protest after your contract is up?

Archon. The name still brings rage inducing flashbacks to any player who was lucky enough to be a part of the Baltimore Hawks during seasons 2 and 3. Never has one man created such anger in something that was solely created for the enjoyment of others. The Hawks on the roster at that time know that he made it his personal mission to attack a member of our team whenever and however possible. The attacks became so frequent and frustrating, we actually had three team members (yes, three!) quit the league entirely. How did the league respond to our complaints? Silence. Not a damn thing was done. In fact, he was named co-GM of his team. Some guy runs around acting like an asshat for months on end, doing whatever he damn well pleased with absolutely no recourse, and we just had to sit back and take it. By far the most frustrating thing I’ve had to deal with on this site. End rant.

It has rather peeved me that, looking at various people's TPE, their on field stats did not reflect their dedication. For instance, Marc Spector's first 2 seasons in the NSFL weren't all that special. As a corner back, coverage is supposed to be the primary objective, and for the most part Spector flourished in that respect. But the measure of one's greatness is not in tackles or forced incompletions, it is in passes defended and interceptions. Marc only had 4 interceptions in his first 2 seasons. Franklin Harris Jr, a rookie came into the year, 2 seasons worth of TPE behind Spector, and totalled 4 interceptions. Sure in season 4 Marc had 5, but given the TPE differential between the two corner backs, the stats didn't show the TPE lead the veteran had over the rookie. Is it worth being frustrated over? Not really. But I had to say I was frustrated at something, right?
