This sucks for the cats. Kinda like when Adam retired on us and the Liberty def didnt suspect it at all. Def not.

I am strongly of the opinion that some kind of compensatory pick system similar to what the NFL uses for restricted FAs and the like could be effective here while also providing mechanisms to fix a few other draft/player acquisition related problems

This is not an ideal resolution. In our league, compensatory picks only punish every team that drafts after the team that got hustled. These drafts aren't very deep so everyone moving down a pick can be huge. Shit is going to happen but GMs are aware of the risk and in many cases will negotiate their own retirement protection clause but it shouldn't be up to the league to make reparations to a team for a player's indiscretion.

When I was in high school I didn't speak to my sister but once a week. Between school and sports and friends we were almost never in the house together. I can understand it if he isn't really talking with his brother too much.
