I have a very simple look on this league, you should enjoy the player you are playing. he really wanted to be a star WR, who are we as a league to say no to giving him the chance. if he played for Baltimore, Orange County or Yellowknife, I would say the exact same thing. don't be a player where you will get bored playing. I've done that, it sucks. You're assuming there was a Yeti target there, there wasnt. I want to see the nsfl thrive, it doesn't happen if people are playing positions they hate regardless of how great the locker room is. it's why we got rid of OL. the 9.8 jab was at the "set on offense" comment you alluded to earlier. unrelated. @TheMemeMaestro I don't know if your roadmaps to success have been that successful. I have a right to question it based on your tenure... look it's been fun, I'm clearly yeti public enemy #1. and if that's now you want to treat me, fine. I am not going to stop you. I'm kinda disappointed but whatever. see you on the field on Wednesday. The problem isn't the position change or the trade or whatever. It is that you said that and then immediately after started saying anti-yeti stuff. Also, he didn't have it saved probably he just got it rn. Also, iirc we have the same amount of playoff wins in our career ![]() I’ve had it - dropbear - 05-31-2018 (05-31-2018, 05:04 PM)tlk742 Wrote:I don't know which part is better, the part that you have this saved or the part that there is 0 context within these screenshots. I didn't have it saved, it had been posted at an earlier date so was readily available. I did see the context of the conversation, because I watched it happen live, and I still don't think it was constructive or well-intentioned. Maybe next time try, "Talk to the GMs if it's not something you want to do, they'll understand", rather than "demand a trade" and a tirade about how bad the team is right off the bat. Look, I personally have nothing against you. And I think there's room in this league for making fun of other teams. But when constant negative talk about our team is peppered throughout the forum and discord, it makes league fatigue much more pronounced. It's not conducive to securing and maintaining new members, either. What if someone is trying out the league, gets drafted by the Yeti and is then humiliated constantly by association? Not great for retention. It has its place, but there's a line. I take part in this league for fun and to try and help others do the same. It would be nice not to sign on and see the equivalent of "you're wasting your time" plastered wherever we look. You're not enemy #1. You're not an enemy at all. Yes, we'll see you on the field, and honestly, I hope you have a great game and great season with your new team because this is meant to be an enjoyable pastime and my hope that everyone here is having a good time extends to you, too. I appreciate where you're coming from in offering him suggestions but yeah, I just think it could have been handled better. As could have my exit from SJS, but I was burnt out to the point of not being interested in looking at the site, let alone coming back to tie up loose ends. It wasn't the right thing to do, but when I returned I apologised to ck and have had my head down since, working to be a good player in the league and to give back where I can. It had nothing to do with losing, for what it's worth. I just lost interest in the league because it was my first ever sim league and I went from 0 to 100, which wasn't sustainable. If you hold some resentment towards me because of your tenure with the Sabercats, so be it. I deserve that. But all I ask is that if you do want to hang shit on the Yeti, at the very least target the veterans and don't be in rookies' ears saying telling them they're doomed, because I don't think that's fair. Again, I want to reiterate I have nothing against you personally and hope we can actually come to get to know each other on the forum/discord. I’ve had it - 124715 - 05-31-2018 Why isn't the Fire-Bred thing getting more attention? I’ve had it - speculadora - 05-31-2018 Well JaPetFlo is Fire-Bred's brother so that's about the only explanation I have I’ve had it - AzhekAhriman - 05-31-2018 May I make an entirely personal suggestion here. The best solution to things like what you've identified here is plain and simple. Go out and win 6 games or something this year. It's a brand new time for strats so there is opportunity to take games off teams if they get lazy. I would say make the playoffs but there ar 3 teams in the NSFC that will likely get to at least 10-4 so that may still be out of bounds. That's the only thing that's going to change long term perception, when results show up. Now on the marketing side, if you view things like the mentioned articles as hurting your strategic options then thats a reasonable position. But stuff like this that is a hit piece in reverse is decidely not the answer to that particularly challenge in my opinion. Yeti have proven to be pretty effective marketers, so if you want the rest of the league to take you seriously before the wins come in then do what you've been doing and sell it. - Ahri Out |
