I actually didn't think about this scenario. The conditions were built in because Meme wanted some sort of contingency if I were to opt-out, retire, etc. This is way above my level of cunning to try to pull off a move like this. I did negotiate the terms of my trade because kckolbe and I agreed that we should try to net some value out of my player before I retire. My plan is to fulfill the terms of the trade to give the Liberty the picks that were agreed upon and (hopefully) come back in S11 as I fight regression. I had honest intentions while making the trade to help the team out and Yeti gave the best offer. No other team came close to offering any 1sts or were willing to offer 1st round picks which is why kckolbe agreed to the trade. If the roles were reversed, I would have made the same call and trusted him to fulfill the trade conditions. I think it was the best move for both parties even though I'm sad to see kckolbe step down from the team, I understand the stress it can cause. I've been a GM since S4 (not as long as a few other superstar GMs) and I was on the border of going inactive myself. I did not want to do that so suddenly so I decided to do what was best for my sanity and free time. I've been juggling DSFL Simmer-Commissioner the past few seasons along with being the Liberty GM. This led some of the Liberty budget debacle and I take full responsibility for my ineptitude in handling that. Not many people know, but I stepped up to help out the team because no one else wanted to be co-GM to To1 at the time and RFFO had gone inactive. Again, it's shame about the aftermath of this move but I needed to do what was best for myself as a person and the team. Similarly, when TO was selected for HO, that left only myself and adam to step up without having to trade for someone new. It wasn't until after the trade, when I wanted to go to sleep and Philly's discord kept going off that I realized I couldn't do this again given that I am still worn out, overweight, and behind in my personal life from my time as commish. I volunteered as co with genuine intent to be active, and have been slowly doing more, having gameplanned for all of our games this season (not solely, but putting in work on them), and had been discussing scouting strategy with him yesterday morning. I was prepared for the idea of eventually taking over, but I just wasn't ready, and I don't think I would be for a couple of months. I knew stepping down would hurt the team, but I felt that only being somewhat available to do the work would hurt as well. I thought you were completely ready to handle it on your own and select a co-GM of your choosing to help. Having you there to help with gameplanning, strategy, general discussions, preseason items when I was on vacation, etc. was really helpful and it illustrated to me how ready you were to take over and lead the team as the amazing QB/GM I knew you could be. I'm sorry to hear that you didn't feel ready, but I knew To1, Numbers, and Adam would be more than happy to assist you in any way they could. If you need a couple months to be ready, then I hope you reconsider when the time is right for you in your personal life. I still appreciated all the support I got from you as a co-GM and was confident in you taking over and executing your vision for the team's future. PHI/COL - TheMemeMaestro - 06-12-2018 The wording is whatever, I will change it, the plan was never ill-will. PHI/COL - Bzerkap - 06-12-2018 Shady Yeti again. When will the NSFL learn not to trust these hairy apes! Any deal done with me, the best deal maker, has clear contingencies and support from the top minds in the field. In fact, my deals are so strong I have to turn down better offers so that other GM's can save face in the public domain. The Yeti's are shady for the second time and no deals should be conducted with them at this time. SAD PHI/COL - DeathOnReddit - 06-12-2018 dramarama. but yea i think gms should put a rule in that gms cant negotiate their own trade. |
