(S8) - PT 5 - Rebuild - ItsJustBarry - 06-20-2018 One team that needs to tear down the roster and just hit the reset button would definitely be the Baltimore Hawks. After signing their first ever free agent this past offseason, the great Arbin Asipi Jr., then trading for start wide receiver Budda Browning, then making another trade to bring in even more defensive line talent in Vikain Melamedov, they were preseason favorites to come out of the NSFC on top. What have they managed to do with this cast of copious talent? They are on pace to have possibly the worst season in franchise history. It’s time to liquidate the assets and jump ship. Here’s how I would do it: Start with Avon Blocksdale @iamslm22– He is nearing his twilight years but could still maybe be s a stop gap QB for some bubble teams – Trade for a high 2nd round pick. Owen Taylor @manicmav36– His career is also sunsetting but I am still confident he has some tread left on his tires – another high 2nd or package up with Avon for a late 1st. Next, who doesn’t love Arbin Asipi Jr. @DeathOnReddit – he’s having a great season so strike while the iron is hot. 2nd round pick is fair. Alexandre LeClair – This guy seems to get better every season. Buy low, sell High. 2nd round pick again. Trey Willie – While he is fairly productive on the field, his off field behavior is less desirable. Could probably swindle a needy team out of a late 2nd round pick or easily an early 3rd. Gregory Fletcher – Inactive yet serviceable – easily a 2nd round pick Package up Turk Turkleton, Antoine Delacour, and Childish Gambino – Gambino pulls the value way up on this trio. He has WAY more TPE than everybody and he is at LEAST a season behind you. 1st round value ALL DAY. ![]() Last, set up blue light bundle just to get their contracts off the Baltimore books. This bundle includes Kurt Hendrix (RIP), Erasmo Broadway, Vikain Melamedov, Austin Roenick, and Budda Browning. – This one is tricky because Roenick and Browning turn this group from straw to gold and Vikain puts some sprinkles on top. Probably give a 1st and a 3rd rounder for this bunch. This would leave Verso L’Alto @nunccoepi at the helm to steer this ship straight. We see what he’s been able to do in the DSFL and with, by my count, 4 1st round picks, 5 2nd round picks, and 2-3 3rd round picks, he can flip this team to a new, youthful organization overnight. BOOM! Book it now. Baltimore Hawks S12 Champs! (S8) - PT 5 - Rebuild - Official DT - 06-20-2018 ![]() @`To12143` (S8) - PT 5 - Rebuild - Daybe - 06-20-2018 So I'm going to pretend this is 2K18 MyLeague and I've just taken over as the GM of the Philadelphia Liberty. First things first - they've already moved all of their high TPE pieces that would bring back big boy value. So that's not as much of a problem. I'd go heavily in the S9 draft. If you get one large group from one season, it helps keep the LR together and active, rather than spreading it out over the years. I've learned from experience in Colorado. Besides the fact that there's a ton of great guys in this draft. I'm not convinced Fitzpatrick is their guy at all anymore. So I'm going to say to hold off on drafting a QB until S10, where there are guys like Joilet L. Christ who's shown a ton of potential and activity early on, as well as enig, who's been here for a long time with Philippe Carter. Looking at the class, there's a few guys that pop out to me. #1 is Xavier Flash, who from what I've heard is a great LR guy and a SHL legend. A guy you can bank on, and with an aging WR corps this route looks even better. Defense wins championships (Unless you're a certain cute mammal) and this appears to be one of the better defensive-oriented drafts. Bucky Barnes has been more than outstanding all year in San Antonio, coming up with big and clutch plays. He's also a frequent contributor in the NSFL discord. There's also a handful of linebackers, and a cornerback who's eerily familiar to Vlad Fyodorovich in Oskar Ludvig. They're both foreign SAS waiver pickups who are killing it updating and winning. (S8) - PT 5 - Rebuild - JuOSu - 06-21-2018 The New York Giants really are a team in need of a rebuild. After being terrible last season with a horrendous 3-13 record, they somehow still ended up believing they are a great team. They ended up taking a Running Back highly in the draft, a move that basically only works for great teams who are close to a championship run or at least the playoffs. At best, this will bring them to 6-10. Saquan Barkley is not the solution for the Giants. Plus drafting a Running Back that high is silly. Running Backs are the most easily replacable position ever. And don't get me started on Eli. Eli Manning was never and will never be a fantastic Quarterback. He is decent, solid, somewhere in the middle of the pack, who got hot twice in the playoffs and lucked into two championships. If he ends up in the Hall of Fame it will be a travesty. Plus Eli is old and New York really doesn't have another run in them. Trade Eli to a bad team, draft some young Quarterbacks and rebuild the team completely. And if they haven't yet, freaking get rid of Eli Apple. Dude is horrible and needs to be cut. Personally I would keep Odell Beckham at all costs though. He is still young and is fantastic. Edit: Ok so since apparently that above wouldn't count, @iamslm22 and @enigmatic - I present my new creation for this instead: ![]() (S8) - PT 5 - Rebuild - Ben - 06-21-2018 ![]() (S8) - PT 5 - Rebuild - enigmatic - 06-21-2018 (06-21-2018, 06:02 AM)JuOSu Wrote:The New York Giants really are a team in need of a rebuild. A long time in the making, the rebuild finally seems to be paying some dividends. After back-to-back winless seasons, the Yeti have already won 6 games this year and are actually making a run (though a slightly unlikely one) at the playoffs. So what has led to this dramatic turn of events? How did we get from such a dark place to one that looks so promising? Well, there are a few factors, or should I say players, who have led to this turnaround. There are a few elder statesmen still hanging around, and they’ve certainly been doing their fair share. Sandoval, Saint, Miller, and Wheat have all been grabbing some stats where they can get them, and they provide valuable veteran leadership. After them, I’m about the oldest one on the team. Starting with my season, Season 4, the Yeti have been hitting on their draft picks. (Some first overalls certainly haven’t hurt.) Bly, Ramero, Tillman, Grau, Miller, Aaron, Applehort… all were picked up in the draft in Season 5 or later. Now that we’re getting experience, we’re starting to put the league on notice. I'm not on PPT here but this wouldn't count in PBE. Just an FYI (S8) - PT 5 - Rebuild - Durden - 06-21-2018 This PT requires way too much research and site/team knowledge, therefore it sucks and isn't worth my time. Boo this man.
