(S9) - Weekend PT 1 - Training - Muford - 07-14-2018 Something that D’Pez Poopsie does is honestly something that he has taken from hearing a lot about the late, great Walter Payton. Walter Payton was a player that D’Pez Poospie values above almost anything else, so why not also mimic his training routine? One exercise that D’Pez has kept up with that this great man used to do is none other than Hill Sprints. Walter used to return home to Mississippi every off season to work out near the Pearl River, and that is the obstacle course that D’Pez starts at every morning when he is down in Mississippi. Hill Sprints build your legs to be those of tree trunks, but it also pushes your mental limits to the test. When all else fails, your body wants to give up, and you think you are dying, you just keep pushing through because that is what you have to do if you want to be the best. This could be any sort of exercise, anything from normal stuff to wacky training that seems like it would be a lose weight quick scheme on an infomercial. Lavelle previously was running nsuns 5/3/1 , an adapter version of Jim Wendlers 5/3/1 program. However in the offseason after approaching the grand old age of 30 years old (pretty much deaths row for any cornerback in either the NSFL or NFL) , Lavelle realized he had to change things up and opted for an adapted version of Johnny Pain (John Sheaffer) created by reddit user Phrak. The program consists of 3 days lifting, MON-WED-FRI and consists of OHP 3X5+, CHINUPS 3X5+ and SQUATS 3X5+. Wednesday consists of BB ROW 3X5+, BP 3X5+, DEADS 3X5+. Finally Friday consists of Monday repeated. After each lift you increase upperbody lifts by 1kg and lowerbody lifts by 2kg. If you go up above 20 reps total on any exercise you double the weight added, if you go below 15 reps you deload by 10%. Lavelle has combined the adaption of the new program with foam rolling and various resistance band based stretches. (S9) - Weekend PT 1 - Training - Zoone16 - 07-14-2018 As Alexandre LeCLair gets older and begins to have trouble keeping up with the younger guys on the Hawks, he supplements his regular training regimen with acupuncture sessions as well as massage therapy for his legs. This has been going on since partway of Season 7. Judging from LeClair’s results this last season, the extra training regimen and therapy session has paid off and the Canadian wide receiver has enjoyed his most prolific season, scoring 14 touchdowns. Of course, part of the training also involves a very strict diet, consisting of low carbs and an unnatural amount of proteins as well as some vitamin pills. LeClair’s body is a strict mass of lean muscles and is very high maintenance to maintain his high speed. The diet makes for a moody LeClair and he has blamed it for his violent outbursts with the media in the past couple of seasons. But as long as the results on the field stand, the public can only go along with it. (157 words) (S9) - Weekend PT 1 - Training - Grapehead - 07-14-2018 Damien Arnold prefers to exercise privately so he spent his first pro contract buying a house with a state of the art gym attached. It seems that Damien is a bit of a germaphobe that can’t stand the thought of sharing gym equipment. He probably could have saved himself some money by paying for therapy to overcome his fear of germs but the young safety out of Michigan plans to get his money’s worth. To ensure that the area remains as clean as possible the only people allowed inside his gym aside from himself are his personal trainer and his wife. So far his teammates in Portland haven’t quite figured out if Arnold is as crazy as he comes off at first, but they’ll get to see lots of him over the next few seasons. Damien has settled in well in Portland so far, and despite some odd workout habits it appears he’ll stick with the Pythons for a while. To train like no one ever has. To really get himself in the right mind set and be mentally and physically ready for the massive stressful and intense football season ahead, Turk likes to train by binge wachting anime. The combination of eating a special diet while watching his shows and sitting around all day watching japanese cartoon has been amazing for Turk so far. As you can see from his season stats... fuckin kill me. Anyways turk also practises weights during the offseason ofcourse. Not only his arms, but also his legs. For this he has invented a genious training methode. Taking his bodypillow and using that as a weight to traing with. While some other players might look at Turks training methodes to be a little absurd and obscure, Turks been at a top fit shape through out his career due to it. The two were sacked over 150 times in their combined rookie seasons, so Fitz is getting his body ready. He’s doing all sorts of leg exercises and sprints in hopes of quick breakaways from defensive tackles, though he knows he has no chance against faster defensive ends and linebackers. For them he is doing a series of core exercises to keep his spine and organs in place as he gets rocked about 4 times per game. He also looked in to some exercises to work on his arm strength and accuracy, but he isn’t expected to throw that much anyways, so instead he is working on twists to get better at handing the ball off. (S9) - Weekend PT 1 - Training - Official DT - 07-14-2018 ![]() (S9) - Weekend PT 1 - Training - Dawegg - 07-14-2018 A lot of Brad Pennington's offseason has to do with getting mentally reset before regular play begins again. This doesn't include traditional zen stuff, and primarily consists of just hanging out and not concerning himself with anything. The season itself will be fraught with hardship and struggles; this time is exceptionally important in forgetting the previous season and looking forward to the next. Football, outside of standard workouts and offseason activities, essentially takes a back seat in the face of watching a movie or doing something Brad enjoys while he still has his free time. Keeping a low profile is almost a neccessity when going out in public, but it's all apart of the job. Some traveling may be sprinkled in, but primarily it's enjoying the life that an NSFL player has the opportunity to experience. Not any job allows someone the ability to work for a few months in a year and then spend the rest of the time preparing to play a few games. Quote:Word Count: 166 |
