(S1) - PT #3 - Rivals - daBenchwarmer - 06-19-2017 Rivalry: Ethan Hunt versus Playing Time It's no surprise that the only rival Hunt has come across in his short National Simulation Football League career, is playing time. It's a historic rivalry that has plagued the upstart quarterback since starting his time in football all the way back when he was a juvenile, mainly due to his size. Now, despite overcoming his rival in high school and college, Hunt is once again staring off against his old nemesis in Orange County, as both the quarterback situation has prevented Hunt from seeing playing time, along with the competition he faces. Whether if it is being limited to filling up water bottles or having to go up against tougher, bigger and much more experienced quarterback teammates, it has usually been Hunt who has been on the receiving end. Even during college and high school when Hunt was the unanimous starting quarterback, walk-on quarterbacks who had five-six inches in height over Hunt but were easily less talented were sometimes given games where Hunt would have flourished. Even now in the professional league, Hunt is still facing off against his longest and oldest foe, and has continually tried to overcome it, only to be given limited pre-season playing time and benched for five weeks straight. It'll only be time before Hunt has had enough and demands a move to fight his rival on even grounds. 231 words (S1) - PT #3 - Rivals - TimPest - 06-20-2017 my number one rival is no player of foot ball. my rival is a evil that lurks deep in my soul that i fight with every day of the play season and off season. what name does this evil enemy rival of mine have? the name is food. i love to eat and eat i do. i dont care about names on the field or twitter posts about my play. i am in the nsfl i know that i am a good football line man. but when i am done with a game or with a practice or with a workout. i face my enemy then. im have to fight my urge to go and get delicious food that i love. there are two reasons i can resist the urges of the evil of hunger. 1. i like to play football and lineman must be more than a ball of fat. 2. i dont want to give my health for food. i am a freak of weight size but i dont want to be a freak of fat and kill my life time. so on the field. i dont care what you say. i have no rival here. i come out and do weights and punch people in the mouth. then i go home and eat my meals under my control. not the control of my rival the hunger. It could be a player you hate off the field, a player that makes you look bad on the field, or somebody at your own position that sets a bar you just haven't reached. For Otters Tight End George Wright, it's the third option. "Ever since the preseason," George told a reporter, "I've looked at this lanky Bottles guy and thought 'did he really get more pancakes than me?'" Wright's preseason was quiet and clearly showed a player developing and preparing for the league. The coaching staff made the decision to have Wright put on some extra weight during the preseason, which he says hampered his performance at the time but has definitely improved it since then. He said that San Jose TE Break Bottles' having great stats as a receiver, and outshining Wright as a blocker in the preseason has been one of his biggest motivators to succeed. "I like Break, he's a good guy and clearly has a sharp mind for the game." Wright said of Bottles, "I would love to play on the same team as him some day, to see what kind of a duo we make. In the mean time, I'm dedicated to being the best receiver I can to show the fans, and maybe myself, that you don't have to be tall and fast to be a star in this league." On paper, no two Tight Ends in the league are more opposite than Wright and Bottles. Bottles, at a towering 6'7" and lean 250 pounds doesn't even look like he would play the same position as Wright at 6'3" and 280 pounds. To an extent, they don't, Bottles' speed and solid hands have made him a premiere receiver in San Jose, and Wright is considered to be the best blocker in the league outside of the O-Line. For these two young players, maybe looking to the other is the key to finding perfect balance within themselves. I feel bad for the guy, gets drafted second overall and puts up poor numbers against a rookie 10th round draft corner. He needs to feel better about himself so he inflates his stats. The truth of our first game was that he caught 2 passes when I was covering him, for 25 and 8 yards. For the rest of the game he was on the other side of the field. I'd honestly like to help him, he has so much potential to be more than just the wide receiver version of Forrest Gump. Josh, put down the ganja, come over to my house, and I'll explain how just because we all wear the same uniform, we're not all the same person. We can also cover opposites, counting, then I'll pull out the picture books and try to explain the basics of zone coverage. I can't wait for the next showdown with Josh. I'll be glad to continue to hold him to his worst stat lines of the season. You can bet I'll only continue to get better as the season goes on, and be on him like glue (despite some league official favoritism). 209 Words (S1) - PT #3 - Rivals - TheWoZy - 06-20-2017 My rival in this league is Ethan Hunt. It’s all started when you joined the NSFL. He was bragging about being the undefeated QB and nobody can get to him. It irritated me and Vinny and we want to beat him up. During the draft, he insulted me in front of everyone and he was drafted way before me which somehow makes him better than me for him and his fans. To prove him wrong, I’ll sack every QB in this league and put Hunt on the IR for the rest of his career. Unfortunately, he didn’t start against us in Week 5. I wonder why? Is it because he’s so bad? How bad can he be compare to the other QB? I have sacked a QB every game now. I have to take him out. He’s the type of guy who can only talk shit but he can’t confront me. Yesterday, I took out Bercovici twice, the one who is supposed the hero of the Otters. This is what I wanted and he wanted. I need to thank him because he gave the motivation to take out every QB. I really want him to be back on the field so one day he will my next victim. (S1) - PT #3 - Rivals - Molarpistols - 06-20-2017 Ian Bavitz is tireless in his work to be the top linebacker in the NSFL. As the fifth linebacker taken in the inaugural NSFL draft, Bavitz understands he has a lot more work to do to earn the recognition as the best linebacker. Currently sitting at 8th overall for tackles in the league, Bavitz sees an opportunity to improve. Every player listed ahead of him in tackles is also a linebacker, and the league leaders aren't even really that close in production through five games. Of his rivals, Ian Bavitz recognizes Alexander Selich as chief amongst them, with Lindarius Shelton and K. Hendrix rounding out the top three rivals. Of these three, Selich and Shelton were picked before him in the draft, with Hendrix coming only a few picks afterwards. Can it be that they were truly better picks than Bavitz? He certainly cannot comprehend that possibility and is striving to amend the difference in statistics. On the plus side for Bavitz, his week 3 performance of eight tackles, two sacks, an interception and a forced fumble and fumble recovery ranks as the second best defensive performance of the season, beating every other linebacker he has on his list. Ian Bavitz is coming for that #1 linebacker spot, best get prepared! Code: 214 (S1) - PT #3 - Rivals - HENDRIX - 06-20-2017 In case anybody didn't know, there are siblings in the NSFL. Kurt Hendrix, a linebacker for the Baltimore Hawks, and Kendrick Hendrix, a wide receiver for the Colorado Yeti. Their sibling rivalry gets to take place at the next stage in the pros after collegiate and high school ball. They grew up in the northeastern part of the country and played on a dominant high school team. Both are ferocious competitors that anchored their respective sides of the ball. One brother was all about scoring the touchdowns, the other was all about preventing the touchdowns. It was a healthy competition that pushed each other toward greatness. Coming out of high school they both were five star recruits. Kurt went out to California to play for USC and Kendrick went to Texas to play for Baylor. After decorated college careers they were drafted within ten pick of one another and onto teams in the same division. They grew up in a tough environment but made it to the NSFL and will earn a wealthy living. They will surely come face to face when Kendrick catches a pass in the middle of the field. What will win out, Kurt's strength and tackling or Kendrick's speed and agility? Tune into Hawks vs. Yeti games to find out. Code: 214 words (S1) - PT #3 - Rivals - Symmetrik - 06-21-2017 Shane Weston was one of the first receivers to declare that he would play in the NSFL. Something that typically came along with high draft stock coming into the first season. Weston slid to 69th overall, and from that has stemmed his rivalry with every other receiver in the NSFL, whether it be a wide receiver, tight end, or running back. Whether it's a teammate or divisional rival, Weston doesn't like to do nothing. Sitting on the sidelines or running a play without touching the ball, or watching anyone else catch the ball just frustrates Weston. Though it didn't translate to wins, Weston has turned that frustration into on-field performance over the last 2 games. The most notable names are the best receivers in the league - guys who would get their names called over Weston if you had one play to win a game. Teammate Bailey Cook, Otters WR Phelps, Yeti's Hendrix even high profile guys Damian West, Josh Garden. Even a guy like teammate Break Bottles, who's turned into the Sabercats' QB Christ's safety valve, with already 29 receptions on the season compared to Weston's 21. Weston expects himself to be up there among the best each and every day - anyone above him or below him is his rival, someone he has to be better than on a daily basis. Code: 221 words (S1) - PT #3 - Rivals - Anti-Hype - 06-22-2017 Ramrio only has one man he considers to be a rival in the long run. One man who threatens what Ramrio claims is his legacy. You see he wants to be recognized as the best Defensive Tackle to ever play in the NSFL. From season 1 onward. Ramrio felt the only way to start that off would be securing that spot as the first DT drafted in NSFL history, and then that day came. Not only was the man himself. J.J Reigns drafted before Ramrio but he was the #1 overall pick. It was a huge blow to Ramrio but not one that he didn't foresee the possibility of occurring. Ramrio was determined to do whatever he could to prove he was the #1 guy for the job but in the back of his mind he was aware of the hype surrounding Reigns. Even more so he was aware it was well deserved. Since the night of the draft and onward Ramrio has had a respectful albeit mostly one sided rivalry with the #1 pick of the NSFL. He shows excitement to see how Reigns and other DTs continue to grow and which strengths will prove to shine the brightest. |
