I prefer to think of myself like TY Hilton. League leading, speed based WR, TY Hilton.

But this journey has led me to believe that something is messed up about zone corners. They do worse in almost every game metric, despite being above average in almost every stat.
I'm honestly surprised you just noticed this. I was thinking this right from when I looked the the cornerbacks archetype list in May. Zone Corners were already at the disadvantage in stats that would seem to matter in coverage and their "caps" (MAX's) would not make it better. On the other hand, All-Around CBs looked overpowered compared to the Zone CBs.

Honestly was just a bit tired and cranky, being hungover and not getting enough sleep while at work will do that to you. Plus, I sometimes have a hard time distinguishing banter from anger in text, and I'm new to the sim community, so don't really know the group dynamics yet.

It's not that I 'just' noticed it, because I definitely saw the same things you were seeing when I made my player. I just wrongly assumed that the sim would know how to properly utilize a zone defensive scheme. In the real NFL guys like Norman and Sherman can get away with being slower by being smarter, recognizing plays, knowing route trees, reading the QB's eyes, etc. I had hoped that the sim would make that distinction from, say, a man to man corner who just plays one receiver and sticks to his hip the whole time. Unfortunately, being new to the sim community, I was unaware of how the system worked. If I had to do it again, I would definitely choose a different archetype. My biggest finding was just how much different the stats were, despite the fact that the zone corners had some of the highest TPE but the worst stats. I guess I was just disappointed that I had league average or better stats and was performing the worst in the league.
