Johnson Harding wants to break the Developmental Simulation Football League record for career passing yards. However, it is probably impossible. Johnson Harding made his debut for the Norfolk Seawolves after missing the first four games of the season, so he has already started his career handicapped. The Norfolk Seawolves are also a very run heavy team, as they should be based on the current makeup of the roster. Then there is the issue of only being allowed to play a maximum of five seasons in the Developmental Simulation Football League.

The current record holder for career passing yards in the Developmental Simulation Football League is quarterback B. Swaggerty. I have absolutely no idea who that is, but it doesn’t look like they ever made it to the National Simulation Football League. B. Swaggerty has passed for 12,970 passing yards in his career. If he played the maximum five seasons, it averages to 2594 yards per season. If we divide that per game, it averages to roughly 185 yards per game over his career.

To beat the record Johnson Harding will have to throw for over 185 yards per game over his career, especially considering he already missed four games. In his first two games, Johnson Harding didn’t even top 100 yards so that makes him even more unlikely to break the record. But that won’t stop Johnson Harding from trying.

When Joseph Wozniak first started playing football, he dreamed of being a wide receiver in the NSFL, catching passes and moving the offense. But in college he transitioned to the defense, where he began to play safety. It was there that he fell in love, and it was there that his natural talent shined through. It was in college where he valued interceptions above all else, each interception a personal victory over the opposing quarterback, punishment for the QB targeting his section of the field. However, Wozniak would experience change again, where in the DSFL he was asked to change his playing style once again, being moved to the strong safety role, with a higher focus on tackles and blitzes.

Wozniak was happy to change his style of play, while he did love interceptions, his true goal was to help his team win. If his team needed him to punt, he would be willing to punt. When Wozniak made his first sack in the DSFL, he was ecstatic, another personal victory over the QB. However, Wozniak realizes that he would never lead the league in sacks as a safety, and his true goals had changed. After finishing both high school and college without a championship win, his true goal was to finally win a championship. He wants to win an Ultimini this season, and hopefully one day transitions to the NSFL where he can set the record for most Ultimus wins in NSFL history.

As a running back, I want to break both the DSFL and NSFL record for touchdowns in a career. Every player that comes into these leagues wants to leave behind a legacy, whatever that means to them. To me, it means being really damn good at football and being a good teammate while doing it. If I can't break that record, I'd like to one-up fellow Marshal Boija (sorry, fam) and get the most rushing yards in a game or a season. That's gonna be a hard feat to manage, but I know I can make it if I run hard.

I want to leave my mark on this league. There are a lot of guys here, all trying to prove themselves, just like me. And I want to stand out in any way I can, so breaking some rushing records would be a good way to do that. I already think I've separated myself from the pack in terms of running back performance, so why not separate myself further by placing my name in the record books? If I could, I'd like to break the record against either Tijuana or Portland, doesn't matter much to me. Both of them are really good teams, and if I'm gonna break some records, I want it to be against strong competition.

Honestly it would be one of two very specific records I would like Laszlo Forty-Two to set. One would have been set some records in the combine as one of the strongest to ever enter the league and make sure everyone knew how special he was going to be. Now Laszlo ended up doing very well and excelling in every combine challenge he did (Minus one in which he did fairly average stats in it so not all bad overall.) but he failed to look like Saitama in One Punch Man in the tests.

So I am left with one final choice. My goal for Laszlo is to get either into hall of fame, bring success to the team that drafted me (the Colorado Yeti) or just overall get the number 42 retired in Colorado. But one stat or record I would like to set is longest number of games with at least 1 touchdown. I have no idea what the record would be but I would absolutely love to set an insane record. It would not even matter if we were good or not but having that type of record would be special. I am talking seasons long in regular season type length that goes into multiple seasons. Just to make it seem really special. It is not really probably achievable over the long run since one touchdownless game by your team and the streak is dead but that would be quite a special iron man like stat.

If my player wanted to get any record it would have to be 1 of 2, both including getting sacks more than anyone else in the leagues. As a DT we aren’t really stat padded so getting 5 tackles and a sack is actually quite a nice game compared to a Line Backers 13 tackles and a sack. So my first one would have to be Sacks in a season for a DT. Just being able to prove to the league that your build was actually great and that the sim doesn’t like to treat you like shit and you were a great draft pick. It’s a thing that would probably stay alive on the forums for a very long time.

My second record would definitely be also sacks, but against an individual team in a career like say Leaf vs Austin. There is something special about knowing that you destroyed a certain QB on the opposing team that many times especially for Ennis, there is a certain team that he would like to do it to. It’s one of those things where just the thought of you being the best player against that team on the DLine would bring you joy

Written Option: Let’s set some records! If your player could set one NSFL or DSFL record, what would it be? It can be career, seasonal, or single game records. Write about what it would be, why you want to beat it, how you would beat it, and the feeling you would have with this feat!

As stand in general for the wiki until 37th resumes leadership, I'm very aware of all the records on the wikipedia considering about 90% of them were made by me before being passed down to other users to update on a seasonal basis.

Let's start with the easy ones that I've guaranteed to obtaining from Lavelle Sr.

Career Punt Return Yards - 3,452 - Dermot Lavelle.

Career Kick Return Yards - 9,093 - Dermot Lavelle.

As far as I can remember, Jr's got 999 kick return yards and 65 punt return yards. With the current clause in my contract I'm guessing I'll at least maintain that kick return average (more than likely 999 will be the lowest) meaning I'll beat the 9093 yards in this season + 7 more.

Punt return yards is a little trickier because the record sits at 3,452 yards. Over 12 seasons you need about 288 yards a season to beat it. Lavelle Jr was tits and only got 65 in the entire year. Meaning I need about 511 punt return yards to get back on track this year. But I'm in the 40's already just 3 games in.

Let's get onto the others.

Career Interceptions - 57 - Dermot Lavelle.

Career Pass Deflections - 249 - Dermot Lavelle.

Career Defensive Touchdowns - 10 - Dermot Lavelle

To reach Lavelle's record I would need atleast 4.75 ints a season for 12 seasons. Currently sitting at 3 int's over a season and 3 games, I'd need to step up a fair bit to even scrape this. Maybe 2nd place for 12 seasons x 4 ints is an easier and more realistic goal.

Pass deflections I need 20.75 a season, Lavelle last year had just 8. For defensive touchdowns I need a total of 10 to match the record over 12 now 13 seasons. I have zero.

Just a quick note that was I typed this up it became possible for players to play for 13 seasons so I now have an additional season to touch these.

(09-04-2019, 05:57 PM)hihihi_62 Wrote:If Mervin Leonard, Cornerback extraordinaire, could break any record it would have to be most INT in a career. I considered a couple of options including pass defections and defensive related touchdowns but at the end of the day settled on interceptions. Turnovers are just so important in football and if I could be responsible for forcing more turnovers I'd be willing to bet that would translate into a lot more wins for my team. I get fired up every time I'm watching the SIM and Mervin snags an INT and I'm sure all the fans in the stands go crazy too. The current NSFL record is held by Dermot Lavelle who managed to snatch an astonishing 57 throughout his career. Thankfully for me he played for my future team, the Yellowknife Wraiths, and rumour has it he hangs around the locker room giving new CBs tips on how to improve their game. I definitely have quite a bit of work to do to reach anywhere near that level but everyone needs a goal and a dream!! I haven't stepped onto the NSFL field yet but when I do expect me to make an impact! QBs beware, Mervin Leonard is on the hunt.
