@ADwyer87 I think I'm one of your biggest critic, I hope you know I don't feel this way about you at all. Mad respect to anyone who keeps a league running, especially for 2 years. OL got its award so you've made me happy!

Sorry to hear that you've been screwed out of your healthcare. Mental health is important, you deserve the chance to be happy and healthy. Take your time away from the league but I hope you can come back and just enjoy yourself around here and have it be an outlet for anxieties rather than an additional one.

Please keep things civil in here. Feel free to move your beef to Discord.

@ADwyer87
I understand your decision completely. I've felt the same way whenever I've ended up in leadership roles. There's always something more that we can do, but we don't feel like we're doing it. There's always someone else who's doing it better and making us feel like shit for not being them.

We've been around for generally the same amount of time. We've both led wildly different paths. I've never been successful as a GM. You were so good that people wanted you in HO. Don't deny that because you made it into HO, right? You wouldn't be there without the will of the people. You were the commissioner. When people had a problem with HO, they didn't have a problem with you, they had a problem with the establishment that you just happened to be the face for. I understand what that does to a person. I understand the hate that would get thrown at you for just trying to do the right thing for the league.

When I was GM of the Chicago Blues, you were one of the few people I felt comfortable enough talking to about my issues. The hate being thrown at me by certain users in the DSFL GM chat. The utter isolation and depression I felt while dealing with my first semester of community college.

You helped me. You kept me here. Every other day I'd send you a message to the effect of "Tell me something that will keep me in the NSFL". Maybe you never said anything, but the fact that you would listen to me helped. I'm sorry I haven't been able to be there for you in the same capacity.

I've been thinking of the same thing. Leaving sim leagues. I understand the thought process behind it and I support you completely. If you cannot find joy in reality, then it's your duty to yourself to go out and find it in some way. While we can be as supportive as possible about finding your happiness, we will only hold you back from truly doing it. When you boil it down, all this league is is "extra". Extra work, extra stress. And if you cannot find the joy in it that you once found, then it's time to go.

I love you, Dwyer, and I hope that you can find happiness and success outside of this online space. There's a lot of people who care about you here. Use our energy to be a better you. The you that you want to be.
