So the only reasons to buy an archetype change now are
a) you think that the opportunity is going to go away/become more expensive
B) you are willing to spend $4m to redistribute 50% of your TPE

the second part is the thing that I think is the most compelling (also I'm not 100% sure I like it but I'm willing to wait until other discussions die down in a day or two to talk about it)

Completely untrue. Every DT will basically now have hit there speed cap. Speed is super important and is the second best attribute for defensive linemen for tackling and sacks, and the top stat for tackle for losses. Strength is necessary once you have your speed maxed.

The biggest reasons to keep me from changing my archetype are 1.) it's expensive and 2.) I almost want to prove the point out how terrible some archetypes are compared to others so that it yields to properly balanced archetype changes.

I'm just going to do a follow up on my statistical analysis article and why i'm unhappy with the archetype balance. I feel like until I do that, my complaints won't have any weight.

I'll read this. I like numbers.

Geez, I guess I didn't process how low the DT speed caps were. I don't think that it's worth taking one season of production as the gospel truth (and I hope @timeconsumer would back me up on that one), but it's a helpful indicator and if speed is that vital you're almost better off swapping to the Speed Rush DE build and kicking inside every snap which is a little counter-factual.

Excited to read your article is I guess what I'm saying here.

I personally think the changes to DTs were premature and I think it won't be surprising to find more and more DEs starting inside depending on the results from this season.

Maybe the interior speed rusher archetype should have a higher speed cap or not a speed cap at all.

If we want to increase the speed of interior rushers then we might have to lower the weight range a bit. Maybe make it more of a tweener DT type. The problem with DTs being fast is weight is factored into the sim so a supremely heavy and supremely fast DT will just wreck face. There needs to be some kind of balance.

One issue I see with the current gear is that people who do graphics are limited to the number they can submit each week.

I think the graphics cap either needs to be raised significantly or just removed. If you only do graphics and you have something come up and you don't submit for the week, you might not be able to get all of the equipment.

In comparison, I could just write one big ass article at the end of the season and rake in the cash I need.

I feel like the graphics people are at a bit of a disadvantage there.

That's a good idea, take the speed cap off of interior rushers but limit their weight to about the 280 range.
