NSFL Great War #1 - Kronen - 08-06-2017 Ladies and gentlemen, I'm really fricking sorry. I've let you down, acted autonomously against the general consensus, confused matters and delayed the start of the game to move us over to PlayDiplomacy.com for a completed flawed reason. Turns out the damn PD.com site allows false moves!! Ugh... I feel so stupid. This entire endeavor will just be better for everyone involved if I step aside as a player and be a resource for you all. I'll do the after-action reports, add some flavor to the write-ups, and be on the sidelines to answer any questions you may have at any time. With me on the sidelines, we should be able to lessen the chance for confusion and/or failed orders. With the Backstabbr game master engine, I may even be able to check out your orders and see if they are legal. No promises on that front though. I'll send out invites to the new Backstabbr NSFL: First World War tonight to all the original parties. I'm sorry for messing with the process and wasting your time. Let me know in PM or in this thread if you're no longer interested in playing the game! I'm anticipating being very active in this game. It's just that having someone here to answer questions will avoid confusion. If I can see moves before they are submitted it'll help immensely. NSFL Great War #1 - Jogn - 08-06-2017 Sorry fellas, I've been buried by what I'm doing already, and I can't imagine being able to play a full game of diplomacy right now. Feel free to find someone else to play @Kronen NSFL Great War #1 - Kronen - 08-07-2017 (08-06-2017, 11:18 PM)Jogn Wrote:Sorry fellas, I've been buried by what I'm doing already, and I can't imagine being able to play a full game of diplomacy right now. Feel free to find someone else to play @Kronen Thanks dude! I'm sorry for messing up and squandering your available time. @jparks98 was the next closest number submitted and has accepted to step in the game! @Aenir is the first call sub in case something happens with someone else's availability! NSFL Great War #1 - Kronen - 08-07-2017 [div align=\\\"center\\\"]The Game is Live! The Great Powers are: @Muford as Russia @Kristy95 as Austria @ @`To12143` as Italy @ADwyer87 as Germany @jparks98 as France @Bzerkap as England [/div] Should you guys have any questions don't hesitate to ask! I'll keep the forum thread updated with the play-by-play as they come in. You are free to talk to each other and coordinate by any means necessary: private message, Discord, Backstabbr chat, phone calls, Sunday brunches, you name it. Everything's fair in war! P.S. Thank you guys for putting in some potential orders! If you enter any orders, I CAN see them!!! Yay!!!! If you make any order that I know will be illegal, expect to get a message from me. I'll try to check the orders at least once a day. --- A brief rundown of the Backstabbr engine: To make a unit Hold, click the unit and click the Hold button. Your unit will now have a circle around it if it's holding. To move, click a unit, click Move and then click on the target space. You can also click the target space without clicking move as move is the default action. Your unit will now have an arrow pointing to where it intends to move. Here's where the orders get interesting: To Support a unit, click the unit doing the supporting, then click the unit to be supported. The next click after this will decide what type of support you're giving. If you want to support that unit to stay where it is, click the same territory again. If you want to support that unit to move, click where the supported unit is moving. Those are the two support actions. To Convoy a unit, click the fleet that's doing the shipping, click the unit to be shipped, and then click the target destination. It's also crucial that the army being shipped make a move action to the new territory across the sea. Here's an example of what this will look like in-game: ![]() In this image, you can see Italy's Venice army holding off an attack from Germany in Tyrolia. The circle means they're holding their ground. Turkey is holding onto their territory. The unit in Bulgaria is Holding position and the unit in Constantinople is supporting that hold. Austria is Moving into Rumania with the unit in Budapest. To guarantee that move's success, the unit in Serbia is Supporting the army in Budapest into Rumania. The Italian fleet in the Ionian Sea is Convoying the army in Apulia to Greece. The little squiggle means that the convoy is taking place. The Army in Apulia has made a move command across the sea to Greece. Hope this helps and don't hesitate to ask any questions you may have! NSFL Great War #1 - Noble - 08-07-2017 Ready NSFL Great War #1 - Kronen - 08-08-2017 @ Just checking in with you ask to let you know I can see any moves you submit! You can always adjust the moves after submitting, so feel free to submit as it let's me check and see if your moves are legal. It's already helped catch a couple moves that wouldn't resolve as intended so yay! And as always, feel free to check in with me if you have any questions on how to execute something you may have planned. See you on the field! Edit: I'll be sure to check moves 8 hours or so before each turn is set to end, so expect a message from me if I see anything illegal! NSFL Great War #1 - Kronen - 08-08-2017 A good question just came in that I wanted to relay: The "resolve orders" button option on the orders page is not necessary to click when submitting orders. Basically that button when clicked gives permission to the game master to process moves early. As we won't be processing early for the foreseeable future, feel free to leave that box unchecked. Even if you click it, you can still update your moves. It doesn't lock your moves forever. Submitting in general doesn't lock your moves either. There's no problem changing your orders with the box checked or unchecked. NSFL Great War #1 - Bzerkap - 08-09-2017 Super hype time!! Moves are almost resolved! |
