(S2) - PT #1 - Pre Season Hype - XxpurplepurpsxX - 07-24-2017 Going into the preseason, I am most excited to go up against the Otters. The Outlaws and Otters have some bad blood themselves which will make it a great game all in its own. However I am especially looking forward to this matchup to be able to face off against Ragnar Kronen. Kronen was the consensus for best safety in the draft and while I understand why I kind of resented seeing him go so early while I was waiting on draft day next to my phone waiting to get the call. While I ended up extremely happy where I landed I want to show Kronen and the Otters that I am a force to be reckoned with and that while taking Kronen might work for them in the end I want them to say "damn, that's the guy we could have had?". Although Kronen may be playing on the other side of the ball, I will make sure that when I am running back the interceptions I will point towards the Otters sidelines right at Kronen. If he doesn't know my name by now he will know it by the end of the preseason. In fact, the whole Otters franchise will know who I am by the time the season is over. While they may not be in our division, they’ve given us ample reason to want a little payback. Sure, I’d like to see the Wraiths sweat a little bit thanks to a certain pesky offensive lineman, but the Legion have been there with us since we began. Indeed, we could have begun with several more active players each if it weren’t for their uncaring approach to trades prior to the expansion draft. We had to work hard to negate that problem, putting a lot of time and effort into the trades leading up to the season 2 draft, and developing our ideal draft board; now it’s time to reap the seeds we’ve sown. From expansion team inception, we have been teams at polar opposite ends of draft and football philosophy. Build for the future vs win now at any cost. Justice League vs Legion of Doom. Fitting then that our first preseason game is against the Legion, the very first time either team has taken the field in a professional setting. It is a clash that will echo again and again through the following seasons, and if I’ve done my job correctly, it is a clash that the Liberty will slowly start to win. (S2) - PT #1 - Pre Season Hype - loco - 07-25-2017 BIG BOT CANNOT WAIT TO PLAY AGAINST MIKE BOSS. BIG BOT HAS NEVER GOTTEN AN INTERCEPTION, AND WILL BE PLEASED TO GET ONE, WHEN MIKE BOSS THROWS ONE INTO MY HARD ROBOTIC HANDS. AFTER CATCHING THIS INTERCEPTION, BIG BOT WILL BEGIN TO TERMINATE MIKE BOSS. MIKE BOSS WILL HAVE HIS HEAD SLAM INTO THE GROUND, MULTIPLE TIMES. IF MIKE BOSS DECIDES TO RUN THE BALL, MIKE BOSS WILL HAVE THE WIND KNOCKED OUT OF HIM, UNTIL THERE IS NO AIR LEFT. HIS TEAMMATES WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PROTECT HIM. HIS TEAMMATES ARE QUARTERBACKS TOO, SO AFTER BIG BOT HAS FINISHED WITH MIKE BOSS, HE WILL CONTINUE TO EXTERMINATE THE REST OF THE TEAM. THE OTTERS APPEAR TO LIKE QUARTERBACKS, WHICH MAKES THEM ENEMIES OF BIG BOT. ENEMIES OF BIG BOT WILL BE DESTROYED. AS OF THIS MOMENT, THE ORANGE COUNTY OTTERS ARE ENEMIES OF BIG BOT. THE ORANGE COUNTY OTTERS WILL BE DESTROYED. JUST LIKE THEY GOT DESTROYED LAST YEAR. HAHA. WHERE WAS I. OH YES. MIKE BOSS. MIKE BOSS, IF YOU ARE READING THIS, PLEASE DRAFT YOUR WILL. AS YOU WILL NOT BE LIVING VERY MUCH LONGER. BIG BOT WILL TEAR YOU LIMB FROM LIMB, AND IT WILL BE EASY FOR BIG BOT. However, that doesn't mean there's not names out there that give a guy goosebumps. There's no single man that I fear or that I can consider a rival yet, so I'm going to go over some of the guys who I want to humiliate on the field. C.A. Chess is the first name I'm going to mention. He was drafted in the same class as I, and like myself he's been a good producer off of the field. I see a lot of future talent in this young player and lining up against him would be a privilege. Preventing him from catching a single pass would be an honor. I have a lot of respect for him, obviously, since there were plenty of receivers taken in this year and he's the one I want to challenge most. Sadly, I'll have to wait until week 3 to go toe to toe with this rook. The next rookie receiver that I want to test out comes in week 4. Jon Ross has impressed me and I want to see what he can bring in the field. He's definitely gonna see what I can bring. Deflections and interceptions. Ross has good speed and a great head on his shoulders, so I can actually see him getting a few receptions, but his YAC is going to be atrocious. He's gonna be calling me Afghan because I'm gonna be blanketing him all game! Lastly, I'm thinking ahead to next week when my Otters go up against the Wraiths. All their receivers command respect. No doubt about that one, but the guy I want to test out is Chris Orosz. Yes, the QB. I want him to throw at me all day. That way I know we will win when I stop all his passes. But we all know he's gonna avoid me like the plague. He is too smart to throw at me. He's gonna hand that rock off over and over because he fears Petrakis and I. I would have included someone in the Hawks, but since that game is over, no sense in calling anyone out. It was a solid game. Come regular season though, I got some smack to lay down on Cooper Christmas. 381 words (S2) - PT #1 - Pre Season Hype - Ltsmashie - 07-25-2017 @Player1 Luke Tiernan made the offseason move from running back to Linebacker in order to be able to have more of a positive impact on the results of the Colorado Yeti. Playing in a running back by committee setup, Tiernan struggled to get any rhythm during season 1 is undoubtedly unhappy with his performances - ending the season with a quite average 3.7 yards per carry along with a handful of rushing and receiving touchdowns. In moving to Linebacker, Tiernan expects to be a rock in the centre of the linebacker corps of the Yeti, stopping any inside runs, and shutting down on any slant routes in a fearsome way. After some exchanges in the media, Tiernan seems to have his eyes set fully on putting a big hit on one opponent in particular - Season 1 pro bowl tight end George Wright Jr. One of the best in the league at what he does, large and powerful, Wright Jr is a handful for anyman, but Tiernan feels he has more than enough to combat him. "Well Georgie boy wont be beating me deep that's for sure, I just hope that he runs into my zone during one of the games, cause I want to show him that I won't be talked down to, and want to be able to remind him again and again every time he looks to get the ball." Thanks for the mention, I look forward to trucking you (if I can)! You'll know where to find me on the field, I'm not exactly elusive. (S2) - PT #1 - Pre Season Hype - Destroyer - 07-25-2017 Is he a rival? I'd consider him more of that creepy girl that gives you free stuff because she's in love with you. He practically personally gifted me the award of Defensive Player of the Year. His name is Mike Boss and boy am I sure excited to play against him. I really don't like the guy. He stares at me before, during, and after the game. He always stays silent and never says a word to me. He's actually super creepy, but hey, I love that he must think im one of his top receivers or something. But in all seriousness, I can't wait to play against Mike Boss. I really want to prove my worth to this team, and I know that if I perform against Mike Boss again, it will be cemented that I just instill fear in his heart when I line up across the line of scrimmage. He's probably my favorite quarterback to play against, when he throws it to my side, I always believe that I can make a play on the ball and ruin his day once again. Maybe he will come a lot harder this year, and be more prepared than I have ever seen, and I hope so, because I am doing the same. I can't wait to see. You are a worthy rival, Checkers. I'll write an article about our rivalsry at some point. (S2) - PT #1 - Pre Season Hype - Bzerkap - 07-25-2017 @jparks98 The man I am most excited to face in the preseason is the absolute pass rushing monster for the Colorado Yeti, Jonathan "Angel" Saint. He was an absolute monster last season with one of the most ridiculous stat lines the NSFL has ever seen. He collected 14 sacks in season 1, that's one per game, a ridiculous rate. He also added in 4 TFLs on top of his sack total, 1 interception, 4 pass deflections, and 2 forced fumbles. The man was all over the field, wreaking havoc for the Yeti defense. He was an unstoppable force also adding in 101 tackles! Now I was no slouch myself last year. I started off slowly, but at the halfway mark I really upped my game and started producing. I was 4th in pancakes with 49, and while I gave up 5 sacks on the season (not good), I only gave up 2 sacks from week 7 on. I clearly finished strongly. Jonathan Saint is truly a multi tool player for their defense, ranking in the top 6 in tackles, and 2nd in sacks. He's going to be a handful this preseason, but if you want to be the best you have to test yourself against the best. Jonathan Saint is the best, and I will be lining up at LT to take him on. Code: 223 Words (S2) - PT #1 - Pre Season Hype - Den_Tex_Mix2 - 07-25-2017 As a rookie, Luke Washington is looking to put on a show to demonstrate to all doubts out there that he was the best LB to come out of this draft. Many have had doubts about him being picked in the 5th round ahead of Luke Lueckly, while others only believe that Kevin Cushing was the only good LB prospect in the draft. A big way Luke can stop this perception is if he can lead his defense in slowing down the SaberCats star WR Bailey Cook. Cook who was a ASFC all-pro WR was a true play maker for the cats and slowing him down will be a extreme challenge for the Liberty. When asked playing against Cook in the preseason, Luke responded with- "It will definitely be challenge for us to stop a great player like him, but I'm all for it. The better players we get to go up against the better as it will allow are defense to be put to test 100%, and it allow us to show the league just how good we are and can be. Personally I can't wait for the preseason games to start, so I can ball out and have fun!" The Liberty will get their chance at playing Cook and the SaberCats in week two of the Preseason.
