In his rookie season in the ISFL, David got off to a very slow start with not collecting a single tackle in his first game. He would go on to only have 1 tackle in his first 4 ISFL games. Things would start to improve during week 5 as David was able to record 3 tackles and was also able to record his first career ISFL sack. IN the last game David actually led the team with nine tackles almost doubling his total from the previous 7 weeks. Although he had 9 tackles, none were a sack. So with only 2 sacks on the year that is what David will be focusing on over the second half of the season.

With the second half of the season on the horizon the continued goal to collect as much TPE is the ultimate goal. David really needs to work on his role model behavior and not costing the team crucial yards in crunch time. David will also need to work on his hands and go against the offensive line of the ISFL. Sacks aren’t something given to you, it is something you have to go and take. The future is bright and I look forward to seeing the stats being rewarded from his effort.

Marquees Acho Jr. has been a solid, but so far unremarkable waiver pickup for the Kansas City Coyotes. However, unremarkable may not be a bad thing as the Tight End has still kept pace with every other rookie tight end in the DSFL so far. However, young Acho Jr. is still rawer than a few other TE prospects. We’ll dive into an area that Acho Jr. can try and improve on to try and increase his impact on the field along with draft status.

Acho Jr. has flashed his receiving ability, but for the Tight End position you need to do more than just catch the football. The offense relies on you as run blocker and occasional pass blocker. Acho Jr. has a decent frame for a TE, standing at 6’4” and weighing 250 lbs. He needs to leverage that better, and maybe convert some of the 250 from fat to muscle, to become stronger and block ends and linebackers more effectively. He lacks the strength to really take the next level as a tight end. If Acho Jr. can’t bulk up or figure it out, look to see most teams viewing him as a second tier tight end come draft season, as someone who you can hope to rely on to be a pass catcher but not help contribute much else. We’re of the opinion that Jr. will be able to show some improvement there going forward

Half way through the season and Jay Cue Jr. stellar career continues. 8 games in, 72 rushing attempts for 280 yards (lol) and 3 touchdowns. This means that his average rushing per game is... 35. And if you think that is bad, let me tell you that it is a whopping 2.5 yds better than what he achieved last season, so he is doing better!! But wait, it gets even funnier, as 75 of those 280 yards were on the first game of the season vs Sarasota, so he had 205 yards in 7 games. Incredible stats.
Everyone knows that the "new" sim is not very kind to low TPE running backs like the 16 version was, but still, these are just pathetic numbers.
If these numbers do not improve, he is gonna be getting around 560 yds rushing in 16 games, 40 yds better than what he did last season, but awful numbers for someone who is gunning for the Hall of Fame.
The only thing he can and will do until the end of the season is to improve his stats any way he can, to try and get the numbers up. Yellowknife is struggling a lot due to the lack of running game. And the "Cue Curse" must be destroyed!!

This season has been a down year for Brandon Prince. After a rookie year where he shocked the world and became a dark horse candidate for rookie of the year, his sophomore season has not lived up to his rookie campaign. There is not even one specific category he has struggled in, it has just been everything. It has been terrible to watch as he gets stopped at the lien of scrimmage or fights for 2 yards. He is not even stealing Captain Rogers’ touchdowns anymore! At some points this season I had kind of lost interest in my career simply because my dot wasn’t performing well. Since it would be a miracle if all of my stats suddenly shot up in the final weeks of the year, I just hope that I can earn enough TPE so next year Prince can perform better. My goal of being a max earner this year fell through, but there is always next year. And as Captain Rogers gets older, I will have to be relied upon more and more until he eventually retires. I hope I earn enough TPE so I can keep up with that workload, and fill those very big shoes.

Catching balls is hard. For a Wide Receiver it shouldn't be. But for Rodka Raskolnikov it is. “My hands are of a dead wombat that had his hands crushed by a concrete truck then the concrete poured on its hands.”. Despite the harsh words from himself, the rookie has been a serviceable pick for the Minnesota Grey Ducks. Especially for a team that doesn't really need to rely on him, with weapons all around. Playing 4 games this season so far, Raskolnikov has been able to rack up 183 yards on 13 receptions and put up 3 TDs. This really came in the last 3 games, as he was invisible in the first game only seeing 2 targets and no catches. “He was still learning the system and we wanted to give him some time to dip his toes before becoming a dominant part of our wealthy receiver core, '' coach of the Grey Ducks said in the press conference. It is clear that the Grey Ducks have big plans with Raskolnikov, and he has been putting more time in practise. Even though he says he needs to be better with his hands, technically he has only registered 2 drops on 23 targets. The other “drops” that Raskolnikov states are ones that the statistical crew believe were to be uncatchable.

To be completely honest, Videl is playing at a peak ability level, despite having a slight stat regression beginning in the season. If there were a few areas that Videl may need to improve on, the first of which is YPC, or yards per catch, where she is second in the category, because she is naturally a deep threat option, her yards per catch is quite high. This leads us to the next thing we notice on what might hold Videl back from a possible wide receiver of the year award, and that is catches, it’s been known that she openly clashes with Austin quarterback, Jackie Daytona, over play calls and even some formations, and also frequent brawls in the locker room. Unfortunately, due to this beef between the two, it negatively affects Videl’s yards per catch, and the amount of catches that she receives on average during a game. Another issue that Videl frequently faces and needs to improve on, is her yardage, as currently, she’s in a tight race for wide receiver of the year, as there’s no set front runner, and it’ll likely change throughout the season, so Videl will likely have to keep high yardage against weaker teams, and hold her own against stronger teams in order to win the award.

Ever since his three touchdown game, Cobra Kai only wants more. So every time he overthink his goals, it comes down to this:

RE: (S30) PT 3 - Short-Term Goals - Patey - 08-04-2021

Being a top receiver in this league is a lot harder than Patey has thought it would be after finishing as a top receiver in U Sports in his time at U of T. Half way through the season after just being picked up off of waivers after not being successful in other football drafts, Patey hasn't had the start to the season he wanted. Out of his first 3 games of his career, he has only one game over 20 yards receiving at 45, the other 2 being under the 20 yard total which is totally unacceptable for him. The one thing he has excelled at in his U Sports career that he seems to be the furthest behind at in this league seems to be his downfall...speed.

Moving onto the next half of the season, working out with the two other rookie receivers on a daily basis in training while staying confident will be the name of the game. At 6th and 14th in receiving yards, I need to be using my peers to my advantage to make us the best trio in the league. Patey looks to be working on his speed stat over the next part of the season to be helping break away from the tight coverage he has been in. With a lot of early mornings and training 7 days a week, he looks to top the charts in receiving even though he is 3 games under the rest of the league. The sim may not always be in his favor, but however he can improve his physical stature off the field will.

So, you always have to take the good with the bad. With that, I want to highlight that this isn't all bad, but I definitely have some big things to improve on.

To start with, I am just not getting the yards that I need to. Sure, you may say I'm only down 2 yards per catch on average and 7 yards per game, but in 14 games that's about 100 yards and all it takes is a bad week and I'll miss 1000 yards this season. I definitely need to pick that up.

It's pretty obvious that I'm only getting the ball in shorter yardage situations, out of 36 catches I only have 3 that have gone for over 20 yards. I need to start making things happen when the ball gets into my hands because I can't rely on the schemes to get me into position. The trouble is, while I have the agility to get around tackles or break loose in the secondary, I don't have the speed really and so I should be working on that moving forward.

Probably the biggest issue I have this season, though, is in the drops. Last season I had 11 drops in 14 games and I felt like I was a major detriment to the team because of it. Now I have 4 in 6 games and feel like I'm on pace to have another double digit drop season. I need to pull that together and get used to trying to make the grab in tight spaces.

Like I said, it isn't all bad. I'm getting more catches this season, and so I'm definitely getting targeted more and my 6 touchdowns are one away from tying my career high from last season. It's just that I need to become more of an impact, playmaker type of guy if I want to succeed and I have to do it quickly.
