Alright so what's the standard for "game breaking" for the corner blitz? Phelps' 75 yard catch and run last night on a corner blitz where he was completely uncovered is a good start. So any defensive play that gives up at least 75 yards on a single play should be removed from the playbook. Got it. Got it. Don't be ridiculous. You know you're misrepresenting my argument. My point is that a team gained 75 yards and it had nothing to do with the quality of the secondary. Remove Corner Blitzes - Anti-Hype - 09-14-2017 Plz just remove it every time I see it I cringe and that's the only play that does that to me so that's good enough for me ![]() Correct me if i'm wrong. but shouldn't a nose back or safety attempt to cover the blitzing corners assignment in this type of play? Maybe i'm wrong there i'm sort of just assuming and i've never looked into it. But that would be a way better play haha. I do not think there is any way you could definitively prove that the corner blitz is "game breaking". I do not think there is any way you could definitively prove that the corner blitz is "game breaking". Thats not a corner blitz. Demps was suppose to cover Hooper but he expected Julio to be the deepest man on the field and must have thought Hooper was on a shorter route near the LBs zone. So i'm just not sure if that applies to a corner blitz argument. Like you said its blown coverage that's true. I think it'd be better to show an example of a corner blitzing and no one attempting to pick up his assignment. Even then i'd have to assume they wouldn't use that play again or would try to adjust it.. Either way i'd really like it out of my playbook along with most people . Its doesn't seem like a risk/reward thing. Seems like a free play. If you have any examples as WHY corner blitzing is a good idea in this sim id be all ears! (other than the off chance of a jail break sack/tfl) maybe I'm missing something ![]() Remove Corner Blitzes - kckolbe - 09-14-2017 (09-14-2017, 05:57 PM)Anti-Hype Wrote:If you have any examples as WHY corner blitzing is a good idea in this sim id be all ears! So i'm just not sure if that applies to a corner blitz argument. Like you said its blown coverage that's true. I'm just saying prove it. I've watched the sims, I've seen the QB not even throw it to the wide open receiver most of the time. I've seen CBs get sacks on it. Everytime there is a big play we can't jump to the conclusion that the defensive play that allowed it must be removed from the playbook. I think the result of the play is determined before the visualization is generated. So before you see the wide open receiver or the blown coverage or the pass or anything, the game already knows if it is a 70 yard pass, a sack, a 5 yard completion, etc. The game just does a poor job of showing how that 70 yard pass happened. |
