Every WR is just going to run speed, since that's the one you start at 100, and happens to be the most important. It's also got the bonus of Agility already at 95, then pull from some of the less useful stats to get Hands as high as you can. Speed at 100 is more important than Agility or Hands at 100. Maybe it feels nice for defensive players who have a few more useful stats, but it's literally just going to put offensive players in the same box. Speed->Agility/Hands---Strength/Intelligence. Looking at your proposed changes, I would love to see how it compared in test sims. I feel like the importance of strength in preventing drops/interceptions is still kind of fuzzy. I am gonna go out on a limb and say that other speed WRs might make different changes, which I see as a great thing. I've seen nothing to indicate that strength does anything but help break tackles. I was under or at 50 strength all last season and had what, 65 catches and 15 drops? Thanks, but hands is way more important for that. And I doubt there would be much variety, especially once you get rid of the stats that have 0 use to WRs. Obviously Arm/Acc, and the Kick stats are off limits. Tackling is D only, and a WR would never pass block as they need to be the one catching the pass. And then Endurance which is the same across the board for all positions. Leaves us with 6 stats. Even run block is questionable as it would be of minimal help to an outside receiver. It should probably not be allowed to change, or very minimally. Personally, I'd say it can't go lower than 25. (MAX: 65) Strength: 25 (MAX: 95) Agility: 65 (MAX: 85) Intelligence: 40 (MAX: 100) Speed: 70 (MAX: 90) Hands: 55 (MAX: 35) Run Blocking: 10 Speed is king. Everyone knows it. No way you would drop it down from 100, and it's already at 100 so you can't bring it up. (MAX: 65) Strength: 25 (MAX: 95) Agility: 65 (MAX: 85) Intelligence: 40 (MAX: 90) Hands: 55 (MAX: 35) Run Blocking: 10 Hands is probably second best to speed for a WR. Up it as much as you can. Agility is huge too. Intelligence is nice but 80 should be plenty. 65 Strength is already low, bringing it down to 50 isn't going to make a huge difference, when most defensive players are above 65 anyway. Maybe you drop a few points out of Agility to max Hands, but having every WR running 100 Speed/100 Hands/91 Agility or 100 Speed/96 Hands/95 Agility is less variety than we have now. People are picking different archetypes right now because they can either get Speed or Hands to 100. Maybe in name they'd still pick different archetypes, but pretty much everyone would try to max out both. And if you don't you're probably at a disadvantage. Pass block seems completely worthless for WR, and run block seems less important. Those stats might need "decrease limits" to prevent exploitation. I think agility/hands depends more on preference than outright one being better than the other. To be a great return guy or YAC-based receiver, for example, hands aren't important, but agility is huge. And bear in mind that the examples you mentioned are all SPEED variations. There will still be red zone WRs due to things that can't be customized after creation, like max height and weight.
