(S4) - Weekend PT #1 - Off Season Program - CDub2 - 10-29-2017 When Cameron Taylor heard the news he'd been drafted by the Pythons, he did exactly what his friends and family would have expected him to do. He finished his final classes at the University of Michigan, packed up all of his things, and moved to Portland as soon as possible. To bulk up for the Long DSFL season, Taylor switched up the carb heavy, mac and cheese, ramen, and beer student diet to a more protein rich chicken, bean, cabbage, and potato based diet. The farts were unbelievable but this will hopefully provide longer lasting energy for two a day training sessions with the new team. The training has been very similar to University of Michigan but now with a focus on hand eye coordination. Taylor recently took up juggling and magic tricks to help improve his hand eye, something that should help increase the amount of pass deflections and interceptions for the coming year. Transportation in Portland, as hip as it is, is mostly public transport or biking. While other teammates are flying in on private jets, Taylor has started biking to workouts and training, helping to improve his endurance throughout the season. The rest of the free time during the off season is just being spent getting to know the team and relaxing at home, staying out of the public spotlight and focusing on playing football. He has decided to switch from Offensive Line to Linebacker and that includes a lot of changes in his diet, exercise and just about everything he does has changed. He dropped from 315 to 265, a staggering 50 pounds just to get fit to line up on the other side of the ball. He has done a lot of speed and agility drills to make sure his new found weight and body can keep up with the grueling times of a Linebacker. He met up with John Canton and Dan Miller *two captains on the defense* in the offseason to get the defensive playbooks down and make sure that everything he is doing is correct and to the T. A lot of changes have been happening in San Jose, and one is the arrival of Chris Orosz, whom Vincent Sharpei also teamed up with in the off season to do some different drills with. As a Linebacker Sharpei had to get his hands up to make sure he can pick off opposing QBs, what better way than to meet up with your own Quarterback and get him to throw you a couple? After being snubbed and left off the NSFC Pro Bowl roster, Lincoln Jefferson knew he needed to work harder. Despite leading all NSFC Safeties in tackles and being one of the most feared defenders, it wasn't enough. So Lincoln Jefferson went back to work. He refined his workouts. He dedicated himself to improving, even started doing the weekend PTs again. The most important aspect of his offseason was reading that quality doesn't matter, it's all about quantity. Now Jefferson can write 200 word articles with the best (worst?) of them. He has started a new graphic creation process that will be consistently repetitive and lack any skill or creativity. You think Jordan Yates is the only guy who can make the same graphic with a basic overlay and a text layer added with a different font every week? Not anymore. Expect Lincoln Jefferson to be manufacturing the same type of lazily produced graphics for money every week! With this type of dedication, there is no doubt that Lincoln Jefferson will not be left off the S4 Pro Bowl roster. Heck, if he sustains it, he might never miss another Pro Bowl. Might even see his name enshrined in the hall of fame one day. (S4) - Weekend PT #1 - Off Season Program - Battleborn - 10-29-2017 Ryan Sierra – off-season workout program This past off-season was the first year Sierra has had a full off-season to train solely as an offensive lineman. Firmly bulking up, by submersing himself in the Häftnor Bjornsson diet, consuming roughly 10,000 calories a day. Merely eating this much food throughout a day is a workout in of itself, but then adding weight training, agility training, and unconventional cross training with “The Mountain” himself, Häftnor. “Having a training partner like Ryan has really pushed me as I prepare for the World’s Strongest Man competition.” Said Bjornsson. When asking Sierra about how he got hooked up with Häftnor, he said, “I've always been a fan of the Strongman competitions, and when I was 15, my dad took me to one of the regional competitions outside of Lake Tahoe, CA. I was hook from then on. During my last year at UK, I reached out to Bjornsson through his booking agent just ask about his workout regimen. When he call me back personally, I was flabbergasted, so stoked to be talking to someone I had so much aspiration and respect for. We hit it off well from the jump-off.” Ryan Sierra has benefited from his combination of unorthodox workouts but credits Bjornsson with his new found drive and motivation to become the best athlete he can because of Häftnor's leadership and love for helping others. (S4) - Weekend PT #1 - Off Season Program - jaskins811 - 10-29-2017 This past offseason, tight end Joseph Askins put in work, day in and day out. Ever since he stepped foot in the city of Yellowknife, Askins knew he had enormous shoes to fill, his predesccor being the GOAT TE Ricky Maddox. So this offseason Askins spent all day and all night working to become a beast at the tight end position. Last season, Askins failed to score a touchdown, which was a little bit of an embarrassment for the player, because at ASU he was no stranger to the end zone. Therefore, he spent all of his time working out and becoming much more in shape leading to the start of season 4. Askins hired a nutritionist to give him a strict diet to help his speed and endurance, and he also hired a sleep specialist to help him maximize his sleep and giving him the best possible rest to promote the most muscle growth. Askins is ready to return to the league in much better shape as a much better football player and hopefully tear up the league. He is excited to help his team make a run to the championship game and hopefully beat the Outlaws, because after this offseason, anything is possible for Askins. It was nice for him to spend time with his family as well and work in his family's restaurant business, but now football will be his life for the remainder of season 4 to help his team do the best they possibly can. (S4) - Weekend PT #1 - Off Season Program - timeconsumer - 10-29-2017 Angus Winchester spent the off season between season three and season four by helping his team prepare their robots. It is known that the androids coming into the league would be customizable by their owners to match the team strategy. In this case of the orange county otters the team leaned on the knowledge and experience of their best and most seasoned offensive lineman to shed some light on what features and settings the androids would need programmed into them in order to maximize their efficiency on the orange county offense. After touring the facility and spending some time with the engineers Angus Winchester discovered what he thinks will be the correct design for their squad. He also spent a lot of time watching game film. With the androids coming in to replace him on the field Winchester knew that he would have to find a new niche to play in. As athletic a person as he is Winchester knew he would have no trouble finding a place to thrive, but he needed to understand the game better from other perspectives. Most of his time he spent studying film of defense, not knowing which level would be the best fit for him. Combining that time with running drills with different team members he feels ready to make the switch and begin dominating on the other side of the ball. At least 10,000 square feet of dark, empty commercial real estate stretching out to the horizon line from the entrance. The floor is cold, polished, starkly uniform grey polished concrete. Light streams in from the southern wall with a wall of storefront glass, cheap aluminum and thin, green, double paned glass is all the separates Clegane from the outside world. Various fluorescent lights have been destroyed across the facility, resulting in approximately only one in four light still functioning, throwing light on asymmetric arcs across the concrete. The only pieces of furniture in the room being the various strength training equipment arranged in a circle, cold iron fixtures painted black, a faded white cot, a thin toilet, and a circular jagged hole, ripped into the concrete subfloor with a rock pick laying next to it. Some say Clegane blames himself for the Otters latest loss in the battle for the Solis Trophy. Other suspect his various chemical, liquid and powder based dependencies have weakened his resolve and allowed others to break his spirit. Clegane spent the time off gassing his various chemical dependencies, lifting, and preparing to face the Outlaws in this year's contest. This year, from defense. Words: 225 |
