(S4) - Weekend PT #4 - Close Calls - Bayley - 11-19-2017 When it comes to things that could have been done differently, I think that Benson Bayley should have worked on speed more than anything first. As a rookie, he was thrown into the mix as the Second Cornerback and got pretty destroyed and targeted by many teams. In his second year so far, it has been very much a different story. Benson Bayley is tied with is teammate John Canton in leading the league in INT as well as one of the top in Pass Deflections. Looking back, speed was going to be an important statistic and he should have focused on that. Benson Bayley definitely was a guy that was going to be looked at highly during his first season and being the #4 pick really had high expectations, but Benson Bayley was definitely living up to them in Season 2. Other than that, it is tough to say what Benson Bayley would do differently. Everything definitely went his way other than being a late addition to the draft. If he joined earlier, he could have been a higher pick and made more impact in the first season. Other than that, it is tough to say what he would do differently. Quote:Words: 202 (S4) - Weekend PT #4 - Close Calls - jordan327 - 11-19-2017 One of the biggest decisions in Jordan Yates' career was his decision to switch from the offensive lineman position. His career started with the Otters before he was drafted. He was an average offensive lineman while there but grew quickly. Soon after he was drafted by the San Jose Sabercats. With the Sabercats, he grew into one of the top offensive lineman in the National Simulation Football League. In his first official season, he was one of the top lineman and made the pro bowl for the National Simulation Football League. The season after, he improved and once again made the pro bow for the National Simulation Football League. It seems like he was doing good, but he opted to switch to runningback because he said it was more fun. It looks like he has been having lots of fun. He is ine of the top runningbacks in the league and is tied for number 1 in rushing touchdowns. In addition, he is very efficient and is ine of the top backs in yards per carry. He is also a great receiver out of the backfield and is number three in both receptions and receiving yards for all runningbacks. The position switch was a good idea. (S4) - Weekend PT #4 - Close Calls - timeconsumer - 11-19-2017 Looking back at the career of Angus Winchester it's difficult to select on pivotal moment that changed everything. That was, until the changes to the offensive line were announced. With the position becoming less valuable to a team it was apparent that Angus Winchester would need to find a new niche. And that is when the decision to change to linebacker came about. The fact is that Winchester had looked at moving to no less than 5 different positions. Quarterback, wide receiver, linebacker, defensive lineman, and cornerback were all considered and evaluated for their efficacy. Some stood out more than others, but in many ways the decision was not clear cut. The decision to move to linebacker was based on actual performance (both personal and team), as well as intuition. Once that was decided that linebacker was going to be the place to be, Winchester then had to determine what style would work best in the Orange County Offense, and how to leverage his strengths to make plays. The decision to go with a balanced linebacker was again part intuition and part analytics. It wasn't an obvious choice, but I think the correct one was made. And so the rest of Winchester's career began. (S4) - Weekend PT #4 - Close Calls - ErMurazor - 11-19-2017 Jayce Tuck has gone through various decisions in his career but nothing major enough that really would have impacted his player’s current situation. The biggest decision Jayce Tuck made was not to apply for a leadership role in a young, new expansion team and stick with the Arizona Outlaws. Obviously, it is clear that Jayce Tuck would not have had all of his championship rings and success simply because of the nature of expansion teams and the fortunate situation Jayce found himself in on the Arizona Outlaws. The bigger question is, would Jayce Tuck have had the same amount of individual success if he was not on the same roster? And that’s not a question that can really be answered with too much accuracy. But I would wager to guess he would not. Jayce Tuck would likely still be the top defensive end in the league, regardless of the team he played for, but he would not be setting sack records like he has done in the league thus far. Being on a team that was able to dominate like the Outlaws forced other teams to pass more often and gave Jayce Tuck more opportunities to get to the opposing quarterbacks and make plays. This coupled with the talent surrounding Tuck allowed him to truly dominate the league, events that likely wouldn’t have happened had he decided to put in for leadership on a new team. (S4) - Weekend PT #4 - Close Calls - ralams123 - 11-19-2017 When he announced his declaration for the NSFL season 3 draft Jonathan received many messages from different GM's who wanted to get to know him and also sent out a little reason to every GM on why they should draft him. Two teams made it clear on draft day that he was going to get drafted by them sometime in the later rounds it was the Otters and the Outlaws both teams told Jonathan if he was available that he would be a perfect pick for their teams. With long talks with the Outlaws manager it looked as if Jonathan were to get drafted by them but in the 5th round Orange County got a steal by picking him up with the 35th pick just 5 picks before Arizona said they would have gotten him. Things could've been very different if drafted by Arizona putting up decent numbers as a rookie for the Otters things could have changed Jonathan would have a ring under his name but his stats could be completely different he could've been put in the DSFL to develop his player. We dont know how things would have been but Jonathan is happy to be in Orange County where he has developed strong bonds with his teammates (210 Words) (S4) - Weekend PT #4 - Close Calls - manicmav36 - 11-19-2017 As the eighteenth overall pick in the season 2 draft, there were moderate expectations for Owen Taylor. His performance though, was nothing less than disappointing. Finishing with just 23 tackles, 7 tackles for loss, and 5 sacks despite starting all 14 games, many in the Hawks front office were concerned they had a bust on their hands. Luckily, Taylor spent his offseason working to better himself every day and rewarded them for their patience. He finished the season with 39 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, 13 sacks, 1 forced fumble, 1 fumble recovered, and 1 safety, earning his first pro bowl appearance. Then, came the question Taylor thought he would never hear, he was approached by the Hawks front office with the request that he change positions to running back. What’s a man to do? He just spent his entire life busting his ass to become the best defensive end possible, but with former offensive rookie of the year, Darlane Farlane, all but disappearing, the team needed a solution at running back. After all what’s the ultimate goal of every player in the NSFL? The Ultimus. If this was how Taylor made his impact on the team, it’s hard to say no. After many sleepless nights, Taylor made the decision to move to running back and his life would never be the same. (S4) - Weekend PT #4 - Close Calls - The_Hero - 11-19-2017 For Gregory Fletcher he made one major decision that changed everything in his life. Had he choose differently he would never be in the DSFL, and that is to play football. Rewind to a time before Gregory Fletcher was a top corner back in the DSFL and even before he dominated the college or even high school level, but to a time between elementary school and middle school. A very young Gregory Fletcher had never played football before. Sure he loved watching it with his dad but Gregory loved and admired his dad so much he would have enjoyed watching paint dry with his dad! However one day he went to the bowling alley with some of his friends. It was finally summer and the boys wanted to get out and have some fun! So after a few rounds his best friend at the time decides he wants to play in the arcade located in the back. Now in this particular bowling alley as you walk to the arcade there happens to be a bulletin board where the community hangs all sorts of posters flyers and so on. Now on the board was a piece of paper that would forever change young Gregory's life. In big bold letters it said at the top "COME JOIN THE MIDDLE SCHOOL FOOTBALL TEAM! TRYOUTS THIS WEEKEND!" The flyer catches young Gregory's attention and he grabs the flyer. Wanting to try the sport he raced home to ask his parents if he could. After a heated debate with his mother (She was worried football would be too dangerous!) Gregory tries out for his middle school football team. The rest is history in making my friends. 281 words (S4) - Weekend PT #4 - Close Calls - MacTonight - 11-19-2017 The decision to commit to football full time in college was probably the most career defining thing for William Ridley. Tossing up between a golf scholarship in Arizona or staying in Tennessee to play for UTenn was one of the biggest questions ever posited to the young man. Football had always been his passion, and obviously we know how the story ends, but for the longest time there were some real question marks around Ridley and where he would get offers to play college ball. Without any offers early as the blue chip prospects fell off the board, Ridley was left with a handful of college golf scholarships, which Ridley saw as an opportunity to play golf regularly while attaining a college education. If life had been different Ridley would have hoped to be writing for the NSFLN or ESPN while making a name for himself. His main ambition is to get into the broadcast booth one day, and he is definitely looking forward to that opportunity if it presents itself to him after his playing days are over. Ridley currently takes courses by correspondence to continue to upskill himself in the chances an injury rubs him out of the game before he is ready, but considering his qualifications, he will be prepared for what comes next. (S4) - Weekend PT #4 - Close Calls - TheWoZy - 11-19-2017 One of the biggest close call in the career of Fuego Wozy was after Week 4. Nicholas Pierno had another bad game and the Yeti have given him a lot of chance to the young quarterback but he hasn't impressed them since he played his first game in this league. Fuego Wozy is having his worst year. He only had one sack in the first game this season and none during 7 weeks. This has been a big concern for the team because he's their best pass rusher. Since they don't have many option to upgrade their pass rush and their quarterback, they have tried give a new chance to perform well. After week 4, Fuego Wozy was seen throwing multiple passes to the Yeti wide receivers during drills and the practice game. It was unclear at first but there was a speculation that the Yeti have found their new quarterback. It was confirmed later by Nicholas Pierno that he was being replaced by Fuego Wozy. This news shocked everyone in this league and a lot of people were upset by this decision. It was really a tough moment for the young quarterback. After hearing some bad comments about changes, the Yeti management decided to keep Pierno as their starting quarterback and Fuego Wozy will not change position. That day, Wozy was almost a quarterback and could have a chance to be back at top form but unfortunately, that was not the case and he's still being terrible. (S4) - Weekend PT #4 - Close Calls - toivo - 11-19-2017 About 5 months ago, after being drafted 1st overall, I was approached about an endorsement deal. A fellow named Elon Musk came up to me and started talking about cars and spaceships, paypals and nuking mars, I couldn't really entertain all these ideas in my head. He wanted me to be the face of an autonomous electric truck, and be the man to sell it to corporate America. I'm like Shaq, if I don't use the product, then I can't really endorse it. It just doesn't make sense putting my face on an electric truck that I'll never drive or ride in. I mean, I'm not shipping anything in weight, why would I cruise around in an electric truck. Anyways, just recently, the truck has been revealed, and a ton of corporations around America are pre-ordering these trucks. Had I put my name on that endorsement deal, I'd be supplementing my income a lot! Management would love it because if I was set with money from endorsements, I'd probably never look for a raise or what not. Now I'm going to be endorsing some raisins company or something, because I really like raisins, they're dried up grapes, if you didn't know that. An interesting fact about grapes and raisins is that they're good for you, a human, but not for dogs. |
