(S5) - Weekend PT #2 - Therapy Session - Battleborn - 12-31-2017 Ryan Sierra – DT – Orange County Otter Season 5 Weekend PT #2 Therapy Session The NSFL has been a fantastic league for someone who has never participated in a simulation league before. The biggest frustration I as a user has had was my initial Player update page and position selection. Choosing a position was an interesting roller coaster of advice. I was told to research what positions were in need, while another position for advice was to choose a position you feel would be most entertaining and fun to portray. When actually choosing my position for Ryan Sierra, I chose offensive lineman because it looked like it could have been the quickest route to the NSFL. After applying all earned TPE and completing my player page and update page, I looked forward to being drafted into the newly developed DSFL, a minor league for the NSFL. Two weeks later, we learned the NSFL would be implementing highly upgraded bots for all offensive lineman positions. This move made by the NSFL head office would effectively render my new created player useless in his current position. I chose to honor my initial decision of playing as an OL for the first season of the DSFL simply because they kept player groomed and controlled players for the entire league. This was a the only true frustration I had with the NSFL. Code: word count: 227 (S5) - Weekend PT #2 - Therapy Session - Jiggly_333 - 12-31-2017 It's not easy to get me to hate someone. There is one user here who has gotten there. I won't mention their name, but you'll probably pick up on context clues. When I first started as the Co-GM of the Otters, this user accused JBear and I of tampering. With no real evidence whatsoever except for a conversation they had with the player where he basically said "I just want to see other options." Using that, he attempted to blackmail us into going through with a really stupid trade that the Otters didn't want to do. He then brought Baller into the mix who then encouraged us to take the blackmail instead of allowing an investigation to happen (because we knew that there was nothing there). After this, that user then encouraged his team to continue spreading around that we had tampered a player (once again, we had done nothing; this is all in that user's head). Basically, he began attacking our reputation instead of accepting that nothing happened. Later, I moved on to the DSFL and this user had left and come back. There were new harassment rules in place and a new ruling party in place. This did not stop that user. He was brought in as an interim GM and let into the DSFL GM chat. At which point, he began to take every opportunity to insult my team and saying I should step down. And he didn't just insult my team, but he insulted the city I wanted it to represent, at one point changing his name to "GM of Shitcago" or something to that effect. The person in charge of the server encouraged it by actually changing his role name to "Shitcago". I can take a lot, but this user has clearly been a toxic blight on the league and is only a bad influence. I've heard about how he may be a much better person in the LR to his teammates and his players, but someone attempting to harass and bully another member should not be allowed to continue doing so with impunity. I don't care how long this was, this needed to be said. We said we were going to crack down on harassment, instead we went on another multi hunt. Now let's actually do something to help our community here. (S5) - Weekend PT #2 - Therapy Session - White Cornerback - 12-31-2017 My biggest problem is to be honest, how garbage the fucking sim is. Let's not talk about the CB blitzes or how it doesn't track yards allowed or how it's got the dumb ass corrupting bug if you sim game by game instead of weekly ( in a mode called fucking sandbox mode that's designed for experimenting ) or the fact that Wolverine Studios is about as helpful as a marzipan dildo. Let's talk about how all the depth charts and strategies have to be fucking manually inputted. I don't mean into a CSV or into an excel document, you literally have to scroll down to each position (1-st to 3rd string) and scroll up to whichever player the GM's want wherever. Sometimes if you're lucky, you can just type the initial of the surname of the player but god forbid if some fucko made all the league bots something along the lines of (cantcatchbot7). This shit took fucking hours to do even with the help of HO and Bzerkap and I still couldn't get it done (4/6) had correct DC's, all the while I had people complaining about the index but hey atleast we got some memes out of it I guess. (S5) - Weekend PT #2 - Therapy Session - Vikain - 12-31-2017 When the league was still on its high, Outlaws were winning everything. When questions from other teams started to pile on, most responses from Head Office and Outlaw players were of pretty much “stop being paranoid and asking questions”. I remember when Liberty were asking for the sims to be transparent many answered with “its fine, dont worry about it”. I never understood why many were on Outlaw side. I know at the time they were not known to have any true red flags but still there was no real reason to not have transparency. Most of the players asking for transparency were not crying wolf but rather asking for 100 percent clarity on to make sure no one is cheating as it was concern for the future of the league. I feel if HO would have let some transparency go the future of this league would not have been as bleak as it looks now. (S5) - Weekend PT #2 - Therapy Session - ralams123 - 12-31-2017 Psychologist: So Jonathan you wanted to talk to me today about certain "problems and things you wanted to get off of your chest"? Jonathan: Yeah I just need someone to vent to over my problems. Psychologist: Talk to me Jonathan: well this is my 3rd year in the league and I've been in 3 different drafts and they all seem to disrespect me. My first draft it was understandable going in the 5th round I was new and unexperienced to the game but I developed through the year. My second year I went down to the DSFL in a dispersal draft to develop even more Though I went in the first round I was the last pick in that round even though I had 20-30 more TPE than those picked before me. After some messed up rosters I ended up missing the first two games of the season but proceeded to still make the pro bowl, what got me mad though is that someone made a list of top 3 CB and I wasn't on it though my stats matched the others that were picked even though they had a 2 game advantage. After my second year the Chicago Blues folded and a dispersal draft was made for the active players I went in the 5th round but i guess it was because of them realizing I would get called up. Psychologist: so what are you trying to say Jonathan: Im just tired of moving around each season to a different city Im tired and so is my girlfriend we just want to settle down in Orange County now until my career ends Psychologist: Well your back now so thats what matters Jonathan: I guess so. Thanks for letting me vent Psychologist: Well thats my job (297 words) (S5) - Weekend PT #2 - Therapy Session - run_CMC - 12-31-2017 I like to stay chill if I can. Being mad is no fun, unless it's casual competitive madness that isn't truly being mad. But do you want to know what makes me mad? What makes me really HECKING furious?? YOU WANNA KNOW? Nothing, actually. Or at least, nothing in the NSFL right now. But what does make me scratch my head and say "but... why?" is the relocation of the Chicago Blues and the Kansas City Coyotes. Or the "polos"? who are in chicago now? And Chicago is actually in Florida and is also a bunch of bears? But they're sun bears? And by the way what the heck is a sun bear? Let's recap. Chicago Blues -> SomeFloridaCity Sunbears Kansas City Coyotes -> Chicago Coyotes aka Chicago Los Poyos (I think thats the supposed other name) So first off, the obvious thing is why is a team moving in and out of Chicago? Why doesn't Kansas City just move to Florida? Second, I ask again, what is a sunbear? Third, why do the coyotes have a new official but actually-not-really-official secondary name? Fourth, why did I wait until 10:34pm on New Year's Eve to right my weekend PT? Will anyone other than the graders ever actually read this? (The answer is no. People read media. Why would they read a million similar point tasks). Ugh. I didn't think I was mad before but now I'm just irrationally mad. What the f*** is a sunbear. Why are they all moving cities. This is giving me anxiety about the Carolina Panthers and "Nice-Jeans" Jerry. Like come on, Jerry Richardson. The f***, bro? And the f*** to you too, ex-Kansas City and ex-Chicago. Abandoning your fans. Smh. I love u guys fr but rn y'all making me mad. Stupid city-movers. Get outta here. Ugh. Bye. Now I'm mildly pissed off. Thanks a bunch, point task creator. (312 words. Ugh.) (S5) - Weekend PT #2 - Therapy Session - KimJungBigDong - 01-01-2018 ![]() (S5) - Weekend PT #2 - Therapy Session - Oles - 01-01-2018 Written: Must Include 150 Words. It's been a frustrating time for the NSFL, and like many I'm sure there are some things we need to get off our chests. Write about anything that has happened in the NSFL, doesn't matter when, just write about it and why it frustrated you. I absolutely hate the goddamn DB statistics in the sim. There is nothing I hate more than horrible statistics, or omission of necessary statistics. Yes, DB’s have interceptions and PDs, but we don’t have anything else. We have to track yards allowed, catches allowed, and TDs allowed ourselves, and it’s a goddamn hassle to do as the sim doesn’t show incomplete passes, and makes it hard to tell what CB was on who should you not know numbers. Right now, we believe that the best CBs usually have more stats, 7 interceptions look better than 4, and 20 PDs looks better than 12, so it’s obvious why people will gravitate towards a player being better. Now here is the kicker, if person A (7 ints, 20 PDs) allows 1500 yards, 15 TDs, and 90 catches you might be a little less inclined to say he is a top CB. In that same vein if person B (4 ints, 12 PDs) allows 600 yards, 5 TDs, and 45 catches, you would believe he was the better player. Now that would be a nice statistic to see, right? Well forget it, this sim doesn’t track that, why would it? (197 words) (S5) - Weekend PT #2 - Therapy Session - Bzerkap - 01-01-2018 I guess the thing that has frustrated me the most with the NSFL is a clear lack of direction for the league as a whole and the sheer amount of work that goes into creating a successful cession league coupled with the sheer lack of people willing to commit to doing that work. Seems like this League was running fine and with only minor hitches until Er left (was forced out of) his position of power and the whole house of cards has come tumbling down around us. A look behind the curtain hasn’t revealed a mystical and confusing force but instead glue and bandaids holding an automaton together. I never really understood Benoit before, I guess I expected some kind of mental break that hits you, but now I realize it’s just this impending feeling that looms over you. Oh well, the league must move on, and the ten people powering it hopefully have enough in the tank to do so. |
