(S5) - Weekend PT #4 - Advertising - RavensFanFromOntario - 01-21-2018 I mean it makes sense. The new Flash movie, taking a more eccentric and exciting "Deadpool style approach" with vulgar language and not safe for work content needed somebody with both flair and an amazing name that made sense to promote the movie. The new film, taking place in Portland exclusively, had names thrown out from Las Vegas Legion legend Stormblessed, DSFL cornerback Speedy McQuick and supa fast Colorado Yeti running back Boss Tweed. However, due to severe budget limitations, they called upon a little heralded wide receiver on the Portland Pythons wide receiver, Blessed Storm. Known for his quick wit and off hand vulgar comments during his interviews he fit the mold of person they were looking for and Blessed Storm is a wonderful name for the Flash. There is even talk of having him play the lead role for the movie. For sure, this is a movie you won't want to miss. For this reason he usually avoids any kind of promotions or advertising deals, rather taking sponsorships that don’t require any awkward photo shoots or recording sessions. There’s plenty of sponsorships that don’t require such emotional investments, Borkus has found. Of course, there have been some exceptions, such as when Borkus agrees to advertise for a local charity whose mission speaks to him, he provided the voice over for a commercial, “My name is Borkus Maximus III and this is my favorite charity in Kansas City.” Another time he agreed to participate in a radio ad for a local hospital, “My name is Borkus Maximus III and this is my favorite hospital in Kansas City.” Indeed, Borkus doesn’t agree to any advertisements which would require him to say anything more than (or different from) this generic statement. (S5) - Weekend PT #4 - Advertising - Dangles13 - 01-21-2018 Recently I was approached by the wonderful folks over at SunRype to promote their delicious juice products. I was pretty eager to sign up for their promotion; SunRype was a staple in the Kane household. My favourite thing about this was that they had a rather unorthodox approach to advertising. No television commercial, no radio plugs, not even photo ads in magazines. The folks on their marketing team wanted a more personal and immersive experience. A few players from different sport teams will be going to schools and parks and setting up sample booths to hand out juice to kids. I am pretty excited for this opportunity as it gives me a chance to interact with our youth and hopefully I can brighten their day. I think more companies should take this approach to advertising and it should be a lot of fun. I hope they don't have any terrible script that they want me to use, Marcus Kane speaks from the heart! Just last week, LeClair was seen recording an advertisement for a local brand of maple syrup. Baltimore has long been a city where Canadian products are highly sought after and having a local star from the Hawks as the face of the product is sure to boost sales. Reports are that LeClair has spent the entire day eating pancakes, waffles, and other pastries drenched in the amber nectar repeating cheesy quotes in front of the camera. We were able to have a brief word with him as he exited the studio, with him stating, "I'm probably on a sugar high at the moment. After this experience, I doubt I'll be able to have any pancakes and maple syrup until next year at least." It was later told to us that LeClair was seen running an unusually high amount of laps around the training field during the days that followed his advertisement filming. With money not being of much concern to him, he felt he shouldn't just sign an endorsement deal with just any company. This company and product would need to be something he truly believed in and a product or service he was already a consumer for. After considering all potential suitors and product opportunities, he spent time having careful deliberation with his agent and PR manager. After several long meetings, weighing the pros and cons of every business endeavor, they had finally narrowed down their selections to just two products. Unfortunately, with the extensive duration it took Trey and his team to make a decision, one of the companies had already discovered a willing participant and removed their offer. This left Trey with just one endorsement. Trojan Magnum Condoms that he uses for his monster dong. He has since appeared in one commercial for them. (S5) - Weekend PT #4 - Advertising - bagwell - 01-21-2018 Norman Bagwell can be seen around Portland at all the local hotspots and he’s an avid hiker so he loves going around the Portland area on hikes with his bulldog. After the Portland Parks and Recreation department found out about Bagwell’s hiking adventures on Instagram, they contacted him about doing an ad for the Park services and asked him to promote Portland and it’s hiking for tourism. Bagwell was happy to help out the city however he could and was featured in their latest TV ad promoting the hiking and parks within the Portland area. Bagwell and his dog, ‘Bully’ are seen in the ad doing a short hike and looking at some waterfalls while talking about how great it is to be outdoors and enjoying the sights and sounds of nature. He talks about how he loves being in Portland and how everyone should come visit for the food and hiking alone. |
