(S6) - Weekend PT 4 - Game Night - Toasty - 03-11-2018 Mason Brown is quite new to the locker room and wants to prove his intelligence so he will be bring CHESS. He will invite GM PDX over to play and to prove his intelligence to the GM He will play soft at the start and when he has seven pieces left he will take out all of PDX's pieces. Then he'll invite Jamis Christ over to help him pick apart strategies that will transfer to the game and make Christ think hard and long before moving his piece. The player will be rb Gore so he can see holes in my chess defense and use those holes to win the match and hopefully it will translate to finding holes in the game. After he plays and beats every coach, player and, GM he will play the hype sound throughout the locker room Born For Greatness by Papa Roach and go and win the game. Length: 154 words (S6) - Weekend PT 4 - Game Night - RedCydranth - 03-11-2018 Games are something that brings locker rooms together. Or divide them if you have a very competitive set of team mates. One instance of this happened during Season 2 of the NSFL. Marc Spector was a rookie in the Locker Room and the team thought it would be a fun time to play the game Scattergories. If you're unfamiliar, the concept is simple. There's a series of 12 categories, like "Celebrities" "Things found at the beach" or "School Subjects". Then a die with a bunch of letters is rolled and whatever letter comes up, all players have to write down one thing from each of the 12 categories that begins with that letter. Well, the letter T was rolled and one of the categories was "Parts of a Car" and Marc put down "Truck Bed" and it was met with mediocre response. But one player in particular, Bradley Westfield was quite vocal that a truck bed was not a CAR part. Marc pointed to the El Camino being a car with a truck bed. Westfield contended that even if the El Camino counted, that it was part of the frame, not an individual part. Eventually Marc gave up and no point was awarded. Later in the game an L was rolled and the category "Found on a Map" was one of the selected. Westfield put "Low Mountains". Spector became quite adamant that Low Mountains are not a thing, and that those are simply referred to as hills. The two argued until everyone else decided this game was not worth playing and quit. It's still a point of contention between Westfield and Spector with Low Mountains and Truck Beds. 278 Words @Bwestfield (S6) - Weekend PT 4 - Game Night - TheMemeMaestro - 03-11-2018 Everyone loves a good game, and the members of the Colorado Yeti are no exception. But here is the thing. A lot of the Yeti players are actually massive nerds. Haruki Ishigawa and Antonio Sandoval are especially. They love to get together with a rotating cast of other members for a Dungeons & Dragons campaign ran by Ishigawa. They also love the game Settlers of Catan. They often time are up late at night playing Settlers or D&D while Pierno drinks his liquor and tries to sex up girls. They believe that this is a way to bond together because, when you think about it, pro sports is throwing a bunch of random guys together and needing them to work quickly. The best way to do that is to find a common past time and bond over it. Some teams have drinking and partying, Colorado has nerd games and such. (S6) - Weekend PT 4 - Game Night - manicmav36 - 03-11-2018 Unbeknownst to the rest of the league, nearly every night is game night in the Baltimore Hawks locker room. No, it’s not poker, it’s not even Madden. Since the beginning of the season, the Hawks have had a Dungeons and Dragons campaign running with about 6 of their team members. Yeah, that’s right, a bunch of big, tough dudes are pretending to be dwarves and elves searching for treasure. Deal with it. Although many of the current players had never actually played Dungeons and Dragons before, when the idea was floated by Gregory Fletcher, a quiet second year player, they jumped at the chance for a new experience. Not only is it a great way for them to flex their creative muscles, but it’s also a great way to get to know their teammates better. I mean, what better way to get to know your teammates than slaughtering some imaginary goblins and dire wolves together? (S6) - Weekend PT 4 - Game Night - SwagSloth - 03-11-2018 For the Wraiths, most of the players fall into two camps, board games or video games. The Defense tend to dominate the board game group, preferring games like Werewolf or Settlers of Catan. McPoyal has also integrated into this group well as a cerebral player, but Fuego Wozy & Jayce Tuck dominate at Werewolf. It's interesting to see such big men pass the time with mentally driven activities, but they save their physical aggression for the field. On the other hand, the offense is the complete opposite, obsessed with frantic, exciting video games that leave them on edge at every turn. The team tends to play a lot of Overwatch, allowing them to act as a unit just as they do on the field. Lately, though, their focus has turned competitive with the release of Dragon Ball Fighter Z. Eric Kennedy & Bubba Nuck are especially invested as they continue their position battle off field in a friendly rivalry. Of course, while the offense remains invested the most, Clee Hardrool has quietly become the locker room champion, gaining a reputation for stealing away comeback wins just as he steals picks on the field. Mat Akselsen has managed to come close to beating him several times, but he always let's the win slip away from him at the last minute. 219 Words (S6) - Weekend PT 4 - Game Night - Chukka - 03-11-2018 Andreas Waiters might have found his career in football but, NBA2k is where he makes a name for him off the field. If he gets the chance he will bring that game anywhere and everywhere. Grab anyone in the NSFL, DSFL, or even overseas. None of them would even stand a chance. He loves to play as the Pacers with Lance Stephenson and Victor Oladipo. The crossover packages as well and the fluid movement allows for easy buckets right at the rim. Just the other day he made a point to play one of his boys and only score with Lance. Andreas mercied him by just past halftime. Even though his strength in the game is getting those buckets he isn't a slouch on defense either (its in his blood). He challenges anyone, especially on the Outlaws themselves, to a game of 2k and says that people can even use the Golden State Warriors against him. Good luck! (158) (S6) - Weekend PT 4 - Game Night - White Cornerback - 03-11-2018 The Yellowknife Wraiths actively engage in a team bonding experience once a month called HTYS. Hide the yellow snow involves one designated member of the team (usually a rookie) who's sole job is to hide about a 2x2 patch of yellow snow somewhere on the team facilities (has to be outside) The only restriction is that you cannot hide the yellow snow under regular snow or you are disqualified. The other 39 roster members have to quickly sprint around the team headquarters and find the section of yellow snow. Every minute it takes to find the yellow patch of snow outside is another 10 pushups for every one apart of the 39 searching for the aforementioned yellow snow. However if the snow is found in less than 5 minutes, he/she who hid it has to eat the yellow snow for the following mornings lunch while it ferments overnight. Get hiding rooks or you gotta eat the yellow snow! 157/8 words (S6) - Weekend PT 4 - Game Night - Dawegg - 03-11-2018 Brad Pennington was a bit of a gamer at Syracuse, hanging out with the guys before and after team events. His game of choice was of course Madden. It is unbelievable how much bonding can be accomplished by such an infuriating game. For starters, the numerous bugs and issues that were constant from year to year resulted in some pretty bad incidents when the team went head to head. A game could be won or lost simply based on a glitch. The entire team hated Madden, but never threw it away entirely. The stress after a game or practice was easily dealt with by the somehow soothing nature of knowing the guy besides you also hates this game. Using the read option however, was banned after someone broke a television because his player clipped through the QB. Everyone went back to APF2K8 after a bit, which while not a perfect game, felt more enjoyably to an extent. Of course being from Texas we all play Texas Hold'em and have a grand ol' time takin' money from each other. Well I was fixin' to bring some of that southern style of games to Portland and one of the first weeks after I moved to Portland we had a players only game of Texas Hold'em with the new rookies. Boy was it a fun time gettin' to know each other and drinkin' some good beer. Well after a few hands, I noticed Jameis Christ get mighty angry after losing each hand against me. Now I swear, hand to God, I wasn't cheatin' at all but Christ couldn't believe that I beat him with a flush the first hand and four a kind twice for the next two hands. You don't try to beat a Texas boy in poker! (S6) - Weekend PT 4 - Game Night - iamslm22 - 03-11-2018 As I have mentioned before in these point tasks the Baltimore Locker room has become a pretty interesting place of late. Dungeons and Dragons is a game that Avon was unfamiliar with before recently. Well turns out its a lot of fun. The players are various different beings, from Elfs to Half Elves to Dwarves to Wizards to Humans. There are Monks, Goblins, Bears, Dragons, and a Dire Wolf. Avon's character of choice in this game has been Oskar Frostbeard the fighting Dwarf. Avon's used a war hammer to help kill a bear and attack and kill numerous goblins. The game has been a great bonding experience is one of many games Avon likes. von is a big fan of board games in general. One of the new ones Avon played is Betrayal on the House on the Hill. Its a very fun game that sets a group of people out and has them go through and explore a haunted house. At the mid point of the game one of the group becomes a traitor and goes against the group. 180 |
