Go out and win 6 games or something this year. It's a brand new time for strats so there is opportunity to take games off teams if they get lazy. I would say make the playoffs but there ar 3 teams in the NSFC that will likely get to at least 10-4 so that may still be out of bounds. That's the only thing that's going to change long term perception, when results show up. Now on the marketing side, if you view things like the mentioned articles as hurting your strategic options then thats a reasonable position. But stuff like this that is a hit piece in reverse is decidely not the answer to that particularly challenge in my opinion. Yeti have proven to be pretty effective marketers, so if you want the rest of the league to take you seriously before the wins come in then do what you've been doing and sell it.

Completely agree. You want people to stop making fun of the Yeti? Win a game. Back to back winless seasons is not ideal.

The only way you'll change the perception about your team is by winning. The wins are coming soon for the Yeti, but they haven't come yet. We even talked in our discord with serious concern that we could lose the game last night at home versus you guys, the defending champs worried of a team coming off 30 consecutive losses. But until you break that streak of consecutive losses, don't expect the jabs to stop coming.

In the meantime, and it took me a while to figure this out, if someone writes something negative about your team, don't get mad and react in their thread or make a post addressing it. Its a bad look for you and your team. The best thing to do is just make a counter post that highlights what you want about your team. So if someone does a power rankings downplaying your team, ask a player on your team to write an article highlighting the progression the Yeti have made with gaining TPE compared to the rest of the league. If someone says you have no plan for the future, write an article talking about the moves the team has made to set themselves up for the bright future they have, etc.

Everyone knows the Yeti have a bright future and the streak will be snapped sooner rather than later.

I remember the days when the drama used to be so much juicier. This is just downright juvenile now. Y'all can do better than this.

This is all I'll add for the moment.

The problem is not with the occasional jab or being made fun of for losing. It's about the perception of personal vendettas, set to impact our team. In both cases in the OP, it looks like (right or not) the people involved are not trash talking but are instead actively trying to hurt us. Telling us to start winning games is neither helpful nor relevant in this particular case.

We'll take our lumps just like anyone else who's bad. We won't abide people trying to negatively influence our teammates or hurt our franchise. Neither would the rest of you. Right or wrong, that's what the discussion is about. Please try and refrain from trivializing it by saying we're just salty about losing, regardless of whether you agree.

EDIT: I don't mean for this to come across as aggressive or accusatory. I'm just trying to add some perspective.

Brother or not it just sets off my suspicion meter when somebody goes out of four weeks of inactivity just to say he wants to play for the Yeti and promptly retires immediately after the draft. Toasty knew about his retirement beforehand too.

I didn't even know that happened lol, but yeah those pieces don't add up at all. Just an elite plan to fuck with the Yeti?

I’ve had it - Molarpistols - 05-31-2018

It's all an elaborate ruse by the Otters to keep the Yeti from winning. Screw parity! We're coming for all your wins by convincing a round 3 pick to retire!

OCO OCO OCO OCO OCO

This is the most amusing part for me; it’s a third round pick who likely would never become serviceable.... who cares if he’s IA vs retired?

(Edit: clearly we want them to be neither of those and be ACTIVE instead, but it’s just very unlikely)
