(S9) - PT 5 - Revisiting Expectations - cosbornballboy - 08-08-2018 As I talked about early on in the season, I had relatively few expectations for ShaDarrien LaMelllana. Why wouldn't I? He wasn't even starting on his DSFL team when he came back. However, through TPE build up and upgrading regularly, I was able to earn a starting spot and even become one of the team's main receiving option, even getting to a 100 yards receiving game, a huge personal milestone. I think that when I set my expectations, I never could've imagined LaMelllana becoming the receiver that he has become today. With all that said, I have much higher expectations for the future. I hope to dominate the DSFL next season and finally getting called up to the NSFL and becoming a dominant force in the NSFL for the Arizona Outlaws or whoever I have the privilege of playing for. I think that this comeback experience has been a great one for me to go through in terms of realizing what it really takes to become a solid player in sim leagues and becoming a solid receiver and team player for my team, either DSFL or NSFL. Overall, I can't wait to see what the future holds and I'm just genuinely happy to be back. (S9) - PT 5 - Revisiting Expectations - Leafs4ever - 08-09-2018 Well, the regular season has ended and it's time to revisit the expectations I set out for at the beginning of the year. I set my expectations very high because I believed in my team and myself. Let's see how we fared. The first expectation was a team one. I said that I expected us, the Tijuana Luchadores, to repeat as Ultimini Champions. Now, the playoffs haven't finished yet, but we're certainly on track to repeat as champs. We finished with the best record in the DSFL, giving us home field advantage throughout the playoffs. We've got a tough match up against the Marshalls to start things off, but I'm confident in my teammates that we can get this done. The other expectations were set for myself. I wanted to go out there and be the best, showing why I was drafted 1st overall in the NSFL draft. My expectations were to lead the DSFL in receiving yards and touchdowns. With the help of my teammates, I achieved both. Not only did I lead the DSFL in receiving yards and touchdowns, but I also led in catches, to give me the elusive receiver triple crown. On top of all that, I got the record for most yards, touchdowns, and catches in one season. Without sounding overly cocky, I achieved the greatest regular season for wide receivers in DSFL history. Now, I just need to carry it over to the playoffs and get us that back-to-back Ultimini. (246 words) (S9) - PT 5 - Revisiting Expectations - enigmatic - 08-09-2018 It's still too early to know if, as a team, the Luchadores met my expectations. I said that our season would be disappointing if we didn't win the Ultimini, and I still believe that. Especially now that we finished the season in first place and that we had the best season in franchise history, the championship is the only acceptable goal. It won't be easy, that's for sure, since our first round opponents, the San Antonio Marshals, are arguably the only non-boosted-bots team that caused us any trouble this season. We both won two games against each other, and all four were very close. As far as I'm concerned, I had a kind of weird rookie season. My stats weren't game changing but I managed to tie the DSFL record for most touchdowns in a season, even if I had to share my playtime with Andreas Metaxas. I'd lie if I said it wasn't frustrating to know I would have crushed that record if I had more time on the field but I keep thinking there's always next season. Now all I can hope is that I get a chance in the playoffs since I proved I have great work ethic and that I'm one of the most hardworking people in the League. I was benched last off season, and I expect to start this year. By the time it was said and done, Rax had put together 31 tackles, with 5 TFL, and 6 sacks, so a little under in tackle volume and TFL, but actually a little better than expected sack wise. To boot, in his only game on the Teams unit, he managed to block a punt - likely opening the eyes of his GM to his usefulness as a 4 down player (that block equates to about 40 yards of field position for his team, Adam Anderson's average punt distance). Despite the fact that overall, Rax failed to meet his own expectations, it was a successful year for him. Tackles that weren't for a loss were made with a combined 41.5 yards beyond scrimmage, for an average of 1.73 yards beyond per play. Factor in the -6 yards on 5 TFLs he accumulated, and that average falls to 1.22 yards beyond scrimmage per play. Take one more step and add in his sack yardage, and if Rax was making a play, it was an average of -.25 yards behind the LOS for the offense- Proving a glimpse into the potential he has if he can put himself in a spot to make even more plays next season. (S9) - PT 5 - Revisiting Expectations - OBESE - 08-09-2018 PBE 6-2 TPE (S9) - PT 5 - Revisiting Expectations - Bzerkap - 08-09-2018 Well apparently I missed the Expectations PT but, I definitely would have had high expectations for us as a squad and myself personally. I really was expecting the Wraiths to make the playoffs. That ship has sailed, sailed so far away I can't even see it anymore. In fact it probably sunk. Losing to the Outlaws and Liberty were really what killed us. I expected to split with the Yeti and Otters, steal one or two wins from NOLA and BAL. Which is what happened actually and we would have made it in if we didn't split with Liberty and Outlaws. Pretty sad. Our team isn't even that bad, fourth best defense in points against, middle of the road 3rd down conversion percentage against. Our offense was also fourth best in points for, the best 3rd down conversion rate, and best rushing attack in the league, with not too many turnovers. Somehow we just suck. Prediction: 7/10 squad Reality: 5/10 squad I was expecting myself to have a decent year, with the rush slider bumped up I might be able to run the ball a little better and stay my accurate, risk averse self in the passing game. Nope. I wasn't terrible by any stretch but was definitely a bottom half passer in the league. 18/12 TD/INT is pretty bad and not even 4000 yards, barely 3000. I was an ok rusher with 562 yards and 6.4 ypc. Only two touchdowns is sad though. Still I had a long run and generally was a strong runner. Prediction: 8/10 player Reality: 6/10 player So all in all I missed expectations. (S9) - PT 5 - Revisiting Expectations - YoungTB - 08-09-2018 I mean specifically come on. What else can you say? Marquise very Brown actually is once again the best RB in the DSFL, which generally is fairly significant. There for all intents and purposes is nothing new. 1665 rushing yards, shattering the rushing yardage record made by Elijah Lagerfield back for all intents and purposes last season, and getting 13 TDs, two from tying Marquise Brown''s touchdown record particularly last year in a pretty big way. It\'s insane how definitely good Marquise kind of Brown for the most part is. His expectations from the beginning of the season were simple. He basically wanted to really break the rushing yardage record set by his particularly former definitely rival Elijah Lagerfield, and that essentially is what he did, which is fairly significant. Marquise Brown now mostly holds both records in the DSFL for rushing, touchdowns and yardage, giving him quite the case for being the greatest DSFL RB of all time, which specifically is fairly significant. To add on to all of this, Marquise sort of Brown literally holds the franchise records for the San Antonio Marshals for rushing, yardage, touchdowns, longest run, and most rushing attempts in a major way. He definitely is not mostly finished though. Marquise really Brown definitely wants a ring, and he for all intents and purposes wants one badly, particularly contrary to popular belief. Him and his squad are going to fight for one next Tuesday, and you mostly know he is motivated in a subtle way. 251 words (S9) - PT 5 - Revisiting Expectations - DonnoMania - 08-09-2018 ![]() (S9) - PT 5 - Revisiting Expectations - Bayley - 08-09-2018 http://probaseballexperience.jcink.net/ind...indpost&p=35931 PBE PT |
