I just don't see the need for him to handle the yeti situation appropriately, but then after the fact make players feel bad about the situation especially when something unfortunate is happening. Kicking teams while they're down was almost certainly a contributing factor in the legion's mass retirement, and there's no reason for that from the owner of the league. Anyways, I felt the need to say something because I don't believe this is an isolated incident. Here is another situation that comes to mind: Link to another slm response Basically he says that someone is out of line, which is accurate but instead of being impartial and handling it through HO, private messages or a bullying punishment call, he criticizes the player and gets himself involved as if he was just another player. Could you imagine if Crabtree and Talib are fighting and shit talking, and after the game Roger Goodell gets quoted in a press conference saying: "What Talib said was horrible and I think that Crabtree is way less shitty than Talib". Responsibility sucks but if you are the owner, you will have to be the adult even when the kids are playing too rough. *Miller Takes Aim at Awards Voters, Ring Chasers - Beaver - 10-09-2018 (10-09-2018, 04:58 PM)7hawk77 Wrote:Or maybe the yeti didn't want players on their team that didn't want to be there,Let me tell you a story of someone who was in Head Office. You see a bunch of people retired one day without adequately (to this HO member) explaining their reason for retiring. This HO member decided to blame the poster of the topic, concern troll on behalf of the team (who was fine with the retirement), and call the retirement worse than terrorism. Worst of all, he decided to create and post memes that were somehow not funny despite having such an easy target. When told that he was jumping to conclusions without knowing what he was talking about he defended his actions, saying that because there wasn't an adequate public explanation "if I jump to conclusions about you, I don't owe you the benefit of the doubt either" Fast forward almost exactly 10 months and that former Head Office member is now upset with people jumping to conclusions and people not giving his (recent) team the benefit of the doubt. As a wise man once said... ...oh how the turn tables. *Miller Takes Aim at Awards Voters, Ring Chasers - Supersquare04 - 10-09-2018 >great dsfl prospect anyone would draft gets picked by yeti >said user starts off good >irl problems cause him to go IA >"look at how bad yeti draft" *Miller Takes Aim at Awards Voters, Ring Chasers - iamslm22 - 10-09-2018 (10-09-2018, 05:07 PM)7hawk77 Wrote:I think Slm's response was more than good and I'd love to see this reaction become more of the norm. This is the first time I have ever heard anyone say they want me to behave more like Roger Goodell. As far as behaving like a regular player v behaving as pristine HO member. I guess @Beaver said it best. How the turn tables indeed *Miller Takes Aim at Awards Voters, Ring Chasers - Supersquare04 - 10-09-2018 >haha yeti are so bad >yeti players are further demoralized >yeti players don't have fun >despite 2 winless seasons most of the team stayed active >"man yeti FO is so bad" >one of the biggest shittalking cumstains of the league becomes HO Great way to boost the image of the league guys *Miller Takes Aim at Awards Voters, Ring Chasers - DeathOnReddit - 10-09-2018 (10-09-2018, 05:27 PM)Supersquare04 Wrote:>haha yeti are so bad >be yeti gm >go inactive cuz POS >shit talk member of the league who is actually helping the league out *Miller Takes Aim at Awards Voters, Ring Chasers - 7hawk77 - 10-09-2018 (10-09-2018, 04:07 PM)Beaver Wrote:...people jumping to conclusions and people not giving his (recent) team the benefit of the doubt. I think you are ignoring my point to paint me as wrong here. What I suggested about slm not being fully informed turned out to be irrelevant because HO did intervene and replaced TMM as GM. The problem I have is his interactions trashing the yeti, and players, not that he was making uninformed decisions. Bringing up how I handled something in the past even if it was hypocritical doesn't invalidate what I am saying. Ironic, maybe. The bottom line is I do not like how slm interacts with other players especially given his position of power. I've stated this consistently for a long time. It was my number one concern when he was first brought on to HO coming in and it is still a concern of mine which I included in my retirement post months ago. When I happened upon this current thread, I was tired of seeing it and decided to say something. In regards to the above incident: Sure, I probably handled that situation wrong and I don't really care if you find my jokes funny. I had strengths and weaknesses as HO but this probably was one of the things I didn't get right. I am no longer head office so it's probably a moot point. I read through it again and don't think my posts were completely off base. I was pissed because it hurt the league that I cared about. Hopefully I've done more good than harm. Link for the curious |
