(S12) - PT 5 - New Year New Me - JBLAZE_THE_BOSS - 01-09-2019 While many would call Johnny Blaze the next big thing in the DSFL, he could be the greatest story that almost was never a reality. Blaze has such an advanced knowledge and love for the game of football, he nearly considered bypassing his playing career. For those who have been following Blaze since he became a YouTube prodigy in middle school may roll their eyes at this one, but Blaze almost became a coach’s assistant out of the gate. He gained notoriety when at a young age he was able to build an audience online where he would upload videos examining the all-22 footage from Patriots games. Since the Patriots are the greatest franchise in NFL history, Blaze found that it was therapeutic for him to break down the footage and learn as much as he could from the greatest minds in football history. Portland Pythons fans are sure happy that the childhood boy wonder Blaze decided to grace the gridiron with his presence. He has had an immediate impact on the field, and his coaches and teammates value the knowledge he brings to them. It would surprise nobody if Blaze eventually finds his way to the sideline to be a coach. (S12) - PT 5 - New Year New Me - RedCydranth - 01-10-2019 Marc Spector was born to play corner back. Literally, he was developed in a lab with the specific purpose to play corner back in the NSFL. So, for him to switch positions would be to go against his design. However, he is still a human being and personal desires may be taken into consideration. All Marc wants to do is play corner back, or safety. When given the opportunity to play wide receiver or tight end, he only responds "If that is where I am best needed for the Otters." It is not some sort of programmed response or anything, but it is truly his desire to be whatever play maker the Otters need of him. He simply enjoys playing the game and feels he does best at the position of corner back. If I had to create another character to play a position different than corner back? Well, I would like to actually try O-Line. I know that's not a position that people really make but so what? I think it'd be a fun position to play, regardless of the complete lack of stats and obvious disadvantages. But I'm clearly a masochist because i enjoy the glory free corner back position so much I've had 2 of them. If Reese position switched, I’d probably stay on defense. I feel like it’s a great fit for him and I like the idea of helping fill a need on this side of the ball. Linebacker feels like the most natural switch and is a position that is often needed, much like D-Line. The D-Line also focus a lot on helping create holes for the LBs to get through and create sacks, so the two really go hand-in-hand. As far as a new brand player, I’d probably go back to RB or WR. In truth, I never got to be the lead back that I originally wanted to be and I was always more of a receiving back; it was the archetype that made sense for the team at the time. So, if I created a new RB, I think I would go more of a traditional speed RB. The league has a ton of RBs and it’s always going to be a popular position, but I’m confident enough in myself as an earner that I think I could win a starting job somewhere. WR would also be very appealing. I enjoyed my 4 seasons as a WR and would also enjoy recreating. Maybe a possession or red zone WR just to offer up something different since speed / route runner are both popular. 245 Words (S12) - PT 5 - New Year New Me - 39alaska39 - 01-10-2019 SHL PT (S12) - PT 5 - New Year New Me - AdamS - 01-11-2019 Creating new players is something I've done a fair amount recently. If I were to create another one here after just bringing Dick up into the NSFL itself, I'd probably have to go for Tight End again. I probably never should've stepped being a Tight End to begin with but hey, shit happens, right? I mean to this day the NSFL has never truly seen a real dominant Tight End that actually plays Tight End. L'Alto is probably the best bet to get there now but given the chance,to make a second character that's where I'd go. A brand new blocking machine that hauls in passes and is a monster red zone threat. A team that has such a player is a team that knows it can bump up its running attack and score from close range, both of which are pretty damn important to an offense's success. I will never forget the season Charlie Law managed to finish top 15 in pancake blocks for the entire league, even above a shit ton of linemen. Or the fact that in 4 seasons as a TE he only ever gave up 1 sack. (S12) - PT 5 - New Year New Me - PDXBaller - 01-11-2019 If Axel Hornbacher were to switch positions, he’d probably play wide receiver on the offensive side of the ball. He’s already got the natural athleticism in speed combined with decent agility to run routes and he’s got the intelligence on how defensive backs may cover him so it would be a smooth transition. The only thing he’d have to work on is his catching skills as he’s use to being more of smear coverage type of defensive back so he’s great at batting down balls and not catching them. Physically, he’d be able to muscle anyone covering him and has a legit 6’2” frame with long arms that would help with creating separation from anyone that’s covering him along with decent jumping ability to get in range of the ball when needed. At 215 pounds, he’d be able to use his strength and size to bully smaller corners and work his way outside or inside on routes pretty easily. It’s also natural for defensive backs to be 2 way players as we’ve seen in league history so having Axel switch to wide receiver wouldn’t be a big stretch by any means. It would be a relatively smooth transition to another position. (S12) - PT 5 - New Year New Me - 37thchamber - 01-11-2019 "Dem did aks mi one time," Lennox reveals, "fi switch position an' play a nex' role, but mi nuh waan fi play inna di quarterback role, seen? If mi 'affi switch up switch up, mi woulda choose fi play receivah cah yu know seh mi a Jamaican and wi fi run faas. Receivah dem 'affi run faas, a suh it go." Interestingly, Lennox has not played any offensive position before. At high school, he was a defensive back, and this held true through college. Occasionally, he'd get snaps as a linebacker, but pretty much only on blitz plays where his impressive speed could have a major impact on the play. He explains this as a preference, mostly. "Yuh know seh mi nuh really like di idea fi get hit," he elaborates, "but mi love fi bruk up a man when 'im a try get paas mi." So it's a little surprising to hear that the Clarendon born defensive star would have chosen to play as a wide receiver if given the opportunity. "When mi still live back inna J. A. mi did play pon de flank inna soccer games cah mi did 'ave nuff pace, an' mi feel seh it a similar kinda role fi play receivah, but yuh 'affi use yuh 'ands dem insteada yuh foot. A nuh lie mi feel seh mi coulda bruk up tings inna dat role." SHL: academydropout PBE: OnceAndFutureKing |
