(S13) - Ultimus Week - Daybe - 03-07-2019 http://probaseballexperience.jcink.net/ind...indpost&p=64803 interview with @`To12143` #1. unfortunately, your season ended in bitter defeat. what is one thing you learned during this go around in the playoffs? to12143 You never want the season to end like it did, in a great position going into the playoffs and easily the most confident team going into the playoffs we had it in our grasp and just lost it. It's a stinging defeat but at the end of the day we gotta move on and just keep going forward, dwelling on the defeat and the thought of a curse is going to do nothing for us in the future. Learning to get passed that and not focus on what happened in the past is easily the biggest thing for us going forward. #2. so obviously you are testing free agency this season. is there any quarterback you want to catch passes from, or any receiver you want to work alongside of? to12143 Honestly that's not something I've really thought of. The sting of the playoffs is still a very fresh wound and free agency has been on the backburner. Two situations I'd want to go to would be either Philadelphia or New Orleans. Philadelphia has the obvious ties and also fits in well with my prime, along with playing with Jordon Von Matt and Adriani Falconi, both had great seasons and Von Matt is about to be breakout player of the year. We could be a devastating passing attack for many seasons if I went there and would open up a long window for Philadelphia. As for New Orleans you have veterans Borkus Maximus and Vladimir Fyodorovich, both have been top players at their respective positions and that's something that I respect and it makes me want to join them and see how deadly we are together while they're in the twilight of their careers and I'm heading for my prime. Of course, it'll be hard for me to find a better situation than the one I was in last season with Christ, Flash, Canton and the rest of San Jose though, so we'll see what happens. #3. knowing that your career in san jose could be over soon, what was your most memorable moment as a cat? to12143 If this is the end of my career in San Jose honestly my most memorable moment would have to be draft night. After the disappointment considering I believed I should have been 1 overall and the fun I had playing up the drama it really has been the best moment, which stings a bit considering I'd love to replace that with an Ultimus title as we're so close to it all. San Jose has been a lot of fun so far but we'll see what happens as the days go by and free agency starts. #4. final question. orange juice or apple juice? to12143 Sorry I completely forgot to answer this, obviously Apple Juice SPOTLIGHT ON THE YOUTH ![]() IT IS OUR TIME THIS TIME (NEXT YEAR) ![]() (S13) - Ultimus Week - cpetrella - 03-08-2019 SHL PT PBE PT Written: Write 200 words on your team and either why they should be looked at as Ultimus champions this season, or if your team has been eliminated, next year, or the year after for those non-believers. My new team, the San Jose SaberCats is a massive contender for next season's Ultimus Trophy. I cannot think of a single team that I think could beat the absolutely overpowered SaberCats team. We cannot lose because we are empowered by the mystical force of friendship. The defensive line has an unbreakable link that will absolutely never be stopped. Footballer Sackerman, Ja'Brill Tuck, Freezer Riposte, and a secret surprise new addition will destroy all opposing offensive lines and quarter backs. Every single quarterback in the league will fear playing against the San Jose SabreCats. Their pathetic Offensive Line bots will feel the wrath of the unit on the D Line and will be torn to shreds. Jorel Tuck and Trey Staley make up the nastiest and most talented young safety core in the entire league, and this will be the season they truly break out into stardom. They will completely shut down the opposition. The Pennington brothers will bring their brotherly love and power of friendship to every game to shut down any receivers who try to run a route in their direction. The offense is also amazing with Xavier Flash, Zapp Brannigan, Kazimir Oles, and Ty Justice catching passes, and Jerrod Canton and Chris Orosz completing the running game. Joilet L. Christ will lead the team from the QB position. Written: Write 200 words on one of the players in this year's Ultimus Week that are Season 10 or newer and spotlight on how they can affect this year's Ultimus. (Or have affected) One young player who had a pretty strong performance for the San Jose SabreCats in this playoff season was Kazimir Oles. Even though the SabreCats lost to the ever so dreaded Orange County Otters again, Oles was a bright spot in the playoff match up for San Jose. Kazimir Oles had a pretty impressive performance, driving the receiving core for the SabreCats, catching important passes all over the field. Oles really helped out Quarterback Joilet L. Christ who did not have the best game of his career to say the very least. The young stud Kazimir Oles caught a grand total of 5 passes, which really helped drive his team's offense for a total of 105 yards. That is a lot of yardage for one game, and that is a pretty great performance for a playoff game where the stakes are much higher and the pressure is on you to perform. He had an average of twenty one yards per catch which is enough for two first downs, which is pretty insane in a playoff game where each first down can make or break the game for your team. He also caught the only receiving touchdown for his tem, showing how he really carried the receiving core for the SabreCats in their playoff loss. (S13) - Ultimus Week - infinitempg - 03-08-2019 QB MATCHUP: ![]() SPOTLIGHT ON THE YOUTH: ![]() SIT DOWN WITH A STAR - SUNNYCURSED: 1. How does it feel to be back in the Ultimus again in your second year? Feels like just another day at the office, honestly. 3 years since being drafted, 3 championships. I'm a winner, plain and simple. So yeah its great, but thats an expectation from me to win it all at this point 2. You're the youngest member in a very talented group of wideouts. Does it frustrate you to end up being the third or fourth option some times? Yeah i'm not gonna lie, it definitely bothers me. I feel like i'm really talented and deserve a bigger shot. But my time is coming soon. The team told me i'm the #1 guy this offseason, so i'm going for the league lead in receiving yards 3. How do you plan to attack the young but talented Yeti secondary in the Ultimus? Literally. I brought a knife. Is that allowed in the Ultimus? I guess i'll find out 4. If you could get re-drafted, what teams would you want to be part of? I really liked the pitches I got on draft day from Baltimore and Arizona. As teams that my idol Stormblessed played for, I was very excited to go there, but in the end the Otters was a great place to end up as well SIT DOWN WITH A FAN - @ADwyer87: 1. Colorado is back in the promised land, with a chance to win their first Ultimus victory. How does it feel to have helped be the leader of this team? It definitely feels great. This team has been through a lot, and to finally watch the pieces come together and make it work has been an amazing experience. Don't forget, I was part of the team that lost 31 straight games... I'm not taking this moment at all for granted. 2. What skills from kicker have you been able to adjust to in your new role as the team's QB? Definitely not the clutch skill, that's for sure... but in all seriousness, the ability to ignore the noise, forget past mistakes, and move on as if nothing happened - it's key for both a kicker and a quarterback. You miss a kick, you get flak for the entire week, or even the whole season. You throw a pick? Same exact thing. It's not a great feeling, but having the ability to just shake it off and play on is important, and one that I improved as a kicker first. 3. Which player on your team is the worst player at madden NSFL football and why? Worst? I'd have to go with Haruki. Dude was born in the stone age or something man, I'm not sure he knows how to use a smartphone to be honest. He's still raving about the pager he got a few years back. 4. Have Dean Jackson and Turk Turkleton returned any of your most recent calls? I always text Dean, we meet up pretty often. Turk on the other hand has been almost completely off the grid since his retirement. Dude's probably out there fishing or something. I'm happy for him, and it was great to see him at our last gathering, but he's off doing his own thing now. Easily, yes, I know, this was discussed last season but it will be discussed again this season, that next season is the San Jose Sabercats time. Yes, they lost a betrayer in LB Ben Horne, but that doesn’t really matter. They added a great Defensive Lineman in Football Sackerman and another great young piece in Cornerback Spencer Castle. The team just continues to dominate on the football field and there are a few changes happening on the defensive side of the ball that can only see the team continue to improve, as well as the offense who will continue to bring back the same crew who are all repeatedly getting better. The Sabercats look to finally take over in the playoffs as they continue to have no one on their team regress as every other team is taking more hits. San Jose is destined to finally make some noise in the playoffs and hopefully with these new additions as the team gets younger, they will continue to compete and make the league their bitch. It is time to take this league over and hopefully with what they are planning to do, the time is now. We will see that Baltimore adds traitors, San Jose adds friendship. (206 words) @ckroyal92 2. Its hard to pinpoint just one young bright spot from season 10 or later in the San Jose Locker Room. After trading away the traitor Ben Horne to the Baltimore Hawks, the San Jose Sabercats have only two players that are older than season 10. The rest of the team is Season 10 or younger, and it is a beautiful thing to see. But one player that really did stand out in the playoffs would have to be Xandra Troyski. She didn’t have any turnovers, but whenever the ball was in the air she was there to make a play on it. She recorded 4 tackles and 3 passes deflected throughout the game against the Orange County Otters. It was a wonderful thing to see as this team has continued to improve week in and week out, and hopefully they will take this as motivation to get to the Ultimus next season. Only time will tell, but it is going to be a great time as the team continues to work together and make big time plays and moves. Watching Troyski develop even in just the game against the Otters is going to help this team go the distance and make sure that they can show they deserve to be there. (211 words) (S13) - Ultimus Week - iamslm22 - 03-08-2019 1) IT IS OUR TIME THIS (NEXT) YEAR - Can be completed anytime Written: Write 200 words on your team and either why they should be looked at as Ultimus champions this season, or if your team has been eliminated, next year, or the year after for those non-believers. I mean when looking at the Baltimore Hawks it is pretty easy to tell why we will be the number 1 team in the league next year. We were a team who had one quick retool season and were historically unlucky during that season anyways. We were super unlucky, getting totally screwed by the sim gods. But you look at all the talent that we added during this season and it is clear that we should be way better. We added a super star level running back in Marquise Brown, we added a top flight level line backer in Ben Horne, we added a star up and coming Corner Back in Arbin Asipi III, we added a great return man and outstanding corner in Andre Bly Jr., we added the best TE in football in Verso L'Alto and we added a future hall of fame level safety in Blackford Oaks. That's just an insane amount of talent, having only lost Spencer Castle, Darren Morris, Mark David and Cordell Joshua. That kind of influx is great. It means that Hawks should 100% be Ultimus Contenders with Gambino and the hawks offense completely ready to be studs on the offensive side of the football and the defense too. 206 5) ENEMIES HAPPEN - Can be completed anytime. Written: Not everyone loves each other, write 200 words on an opposing player or player in this year's Ultimus playoffs about how they will struggle, why do you want them to lose? (Don't be too mean). The biggest person I want to lose is more like an entire organization and I am so happy that they did. That is the San Jose Saber Cats. The San Jose Saber Cats are a pretty annoying team, who is acting completely ridiculous. They lost Icy Doug and are super upset about it and bitter. I get wishing someone didn't leave, but on top of that the dude could have left in Free Agency but instead of that he threw the San Jose Saber Cats a bone by asking for a sign and trade, forcing the Baltimore Hawks to trade a young talented cornerback in Spencer Castle. It's a little ridiculous that they acted like this, and in general I find the San Jose Saber Cats a pretty annoying one, but then you look at it this way it's funny. They are pretty bitter, but I guess if I was around for 13 seasons and never ever had a playoff win in that entire time I would be pretty bitter. It's pretty shocking to have a record like that isn't it? So yea the whole team is my enemy and will be for a long time, I will never play for them and I don't expect them to ever want me to play for them. So yea I hate the Saber Kittens, they stink and they know it. I don't love the OCO dynasty to keep growing, but if it means failure for the San Jose Saber Cats then I'm all for it. 253 Unsung Hero:Who was the unsung hero of the playoffs, convince us. (Can be completed after the Ultimus game) When looking at the Ultimus ahead of time you are looking at two teams and thinking of their high powered offenses and blah blah, and that's all well and good. After all the Orange County Otters offense is pretty unstoppable with Gus T T Showbiz and then there's Ricky Adams, there's also a bevy of pass catchers, while the Colorado Yeti have Micycle McCormick and then Howard Miller which is a great QB WR combo. But the score of the game, 24-21 shows that both offenses were kept largely in check. So I want to talk about someone who in the Utlimus game went a little bit under the radar and that is Jaylen Broxton. Broxton was a really good player in the game and it didn't show much up too much on the stat sheet, but hte Free Safety was awesome. First of all, he is the leader and captain of this defense, and you look at the states he did have and they were a big impact. Broxton had three tackles and defended three passes, meaning that three separate time he was able to break up passes from the QB. This is a guy who is underrated and was excellent over all in the game and was a definitive unsung hero. 213 PBE http://probaseballexperience.jcink.net/ind...indpost&p=64936 (S13) - Ultimus Week - Jiggly_333 - 03-08-2019 PBE PT 1) IT IS OUR TIME THIS (NEXT) YEAR There’s pretty much one reason why the Orange County Otters won the S14 Ultimus Trophy: Tegan Atwell retiring. In almost every single league where I’ve retired, we’ve won the championship that year. It happened originally when I’d retired Leroy Jenkins and the first championship of the Otter Slaughter reign of the Orange County Otters began. Then when I retired Anna Joosten in the PBE, she had a fantastic final season as a beautiful corpse and helped get the Death Valley Scorpions a championship. There was also the time that Annie Connelly in the GOMHL won a championship and then retired. Pretty much any time that I’m playing a “final season” for will win a championship that year. Also, the Orange County Otters are just great. Good people. I’ll miss them. I think with this championship, I now not only have more championships than Asipi, I think I’m tied for the user with the most ultimuses. Ultimi? If anyone can figure out the plural of Ultimus that’ll be really helpful. Basically, having me retire for your team at the beginning of the season is a good luck charm. Although now that I’ve said it, it’ll definitely stop because that’s how things work. Wiley Coyote looks down and finds out he’s standing on air and then poof. 5) ENEMIES HAPPEN Don’t take this the wrong way, but I want Adriana Falconi to fail. Basically, I’m making a female QB and since there’s a chance for her to be the first female QB to win an Ultimus, then I don’t want the only other female QB in NSFL history to steal that chance from her. The Philadelphia Liberty were involved in a very long term rebuild for a while and maybe engi could’ve fallen off in updating, but she didn’t. So now I’ve gotta deal with trying to get ahead. Adriana Falconi herself isn’t really easy to hate. At least I don’t think so. I don’t know her story very well, but then again I use sim leagues like a soap opera to tell my own stories. Anyway, my point is that I’m happy that Falconi lost and I hope that she continues to lose until Rosie wins her Ultimus trophy with whatever team she ends up with. I think that we should encourage more newer members to be more comfortable with the characters they create and I really appreciate that people like engi and Xandra Troyski took initiative and made female players, I think that’s really cool and I hope to see more people take opportunity. I’m all for inclusion and welcoming new and different people, I just don’t want Falconi to win before Rosie does. 2) SPOTLIGHT ON THE YOUTH With two aging stars at wide receiver, the Orange County Otters’ biggest young player for the team is wide receiver Sunnycursed. As I say, this is important for the Otters to have a young guy on their offense in that position. I could be writing this from the perspective of being before the playoffs, but I’m not gonna lie and instead I’ll use some stats from the playoffs. Sunnycursed caught a TD, which is the same amount of receiving TDs as star Carlito Crush and more than the other star Tegan Atwell, who’s retiring. This is important to mention because with Tegan Atwell retiring and Carlito Crush, it’ll be important for a guy like Sunnycursed to get his reps in. Now, throughout the season, Sunnycursed did okay. He got just under a thousand yards. He’s not a rookie, which means he won’t be winning any awards for that sort of thing; but the important thing is that he’s playing and improving. He was helpful in the playoffs and the Ultimus because he got a TD, which is better than a lot of other people who have never even gotten close to the playoffs before, let alone a TD in the playoffs. (S13) - Ultimus Week - Leafer - 03-08-2019 1) IT IS OUR TIME THIS (NEXT) YEAR - Can be completed anytime Okay so the baltimore hawks finished with the worst record of the season but there is a lot of reason to this. We had the best finish of the season by any team and that was because of horseshit. Horseshit, i mean the league itself. The league hates the hawks so they decided to rig it all and make us lose every game. So fuck those guys and we will come back for you all next season and this is why we will win next season. Not only are we coming for revenge, but our team got way better and possibly the biggest upgrade in league history. The Hawks added Asipi III who just loves the hawks, Brown who finally realized that the liberty suck, Ben Horne who escaped prison, and of course Andre so fuck colorado. We signed literally everyone and acquired one of the best. And even so, the hawks have the 2nd overall pick in this draft so, Every team especially the otters are so screwed for next season because the hawks are coming for everyone, will go on to have the best season in NSFL history going 14-0 and then 2 more wins in the playoffs. 4) QUARTERBACK MATCHUP - Can be completed anytime Written: Write 200 words on one of the QB matchups in this year's playoffs. What are you most excited to see (Or excited to have seen), who will play better (Or who played better), etc. 5) ENEMIES HAPPEN - Can be completed anytime. (Don't be too mean). SHL PT (S13) - Ultimus Week - MrStennett - 03-09-2019 1. PBE PT 2. It's Our Time This Year With the incredible season that the San Jose Sabercats had this year, not many people were picking my Orange County Otters to repeat as league champions. That number decreased even more due to the huge offseason haul that the Colorado Yeti had, including the league's best tight end Verso L'Alto and big-time linebacker Brian Mills. The Otters fought hard though, and overcame the steep odds to become repeat NSFL champions. In the locker room, there was a lot of optimism about this season, even after we started falling behind the Sabercats. We have one of the league's better quarterbacks, even though Showbiz did his best to break a record for throwing interceptions. All jokes aside though, having one of the league's best gunslingers and the reigning MVP on offense, helps assuage a lot of doubts. While our defense definitely had its struggles over the course of the season, the Fanta Curtain (shouts to @Trautner for that beauty of a name) pulled it out at the end and gave the team a chance to win another Ultimus. Overall, what looked like it could be a disappointing season for the Otters turned out to be a Cinderella story and ended in a second straight Ultimus trophy. Code: 204 words 3. Spotlight on the Youth This year's Utlimus playoffs had a lot of great, young players involved. The Orange County Otters in particular have a few young guys on the team who are key contributors on both sides of the ball. Because I am absolutely full of myself, I'm going to talk a little bit about Thorian Skarsgard. The Otters linebacker turned defensive tackle came into this season with big shoes to fill as the heir apparent to the retiring legend Angus Winchester. That means he really had to step it up for the Fanta Curtain in the playoffs, just like Angus would have. As a defensive tackle, it can be somewhat difficult to have a big impact on a game, but I am very proud of the way that Skarsgard performed in his Ultimus playoffs debut. Seven tackles, one tackle for loss, and two sacks was a pretty damn good way to start off. Now, I realize this surely isn't the sexiest stat line in the world, but just knowing that I helped play my part in my team winning it all is enough for me. I'll be sure to keep working and training hard so that I can really put on a clinic in the playoffs next season. Code: 205 words 4. Going to Disneyland There were a lot of great performances during this season's Ultimus. It was a really close game and both team's had standout players. However, in classic fashion, I will pick the MVP winner from the winning team. The Otters have a few players who were probably worthy of being named Most Valuable Player, but the real standout performance on the team came from none other than All-Star linebacker Mason Brown. He really anchored the Otters defense all the way to a championship in this game. I mean, what a game he had here. He racked up a game high thirteen tackles, including one tackle for loss, one sack, and even defended two passes. He really was a jack of all trades on the NSFL's biggest stage. Both quarterbacks put up a good fight for this award, as both McCormick and Showbiz really played a good game, but I believe that Brown's performance was really tops. The Otters defense had been one large question mark all season long, with some really lackluster performances coming early in the season. It was really downright awful at times. However, as the season continued, it got better and better, finally culminating in an Ultimus win which was anchored by one of the team's key defensive pieces.
