(S14) PT 3 - Expansion - SouljaBoy2007 - 04-09-2019 There's a team in Yellowknife which has basically nobody there so let's go the extra mile and create the Antarctica Penguins. Don't worry they play in a dome. The SpaceX dome will be heated to 58 degrees Fahrenheit, and seat 200 but it never fills up. The field will obviously be artificial turf. The logo will be a penguin on it's stomach tilted at a 40 degree angle as if it is sliding down a hill. The researchers down there are diehard fans so they have that going for them. We unfortunately haven't figured out how we'll build a stadium down there but we'll figure it out. Honestly I don't know how we didn't think of this before. The team can make money off of the rich idiots who pay thousands to get down to Antarctica to watch a game. We can even make a rivalry with a team in the arctic like a North vs South thing. The Antarctica Penguins will be brilliant. The cold will even give them a psychological advantage. How will you have to travel down to the coldest place on earth and not be afraid? Expansion GMs better strongly consider this idea because this team is amazing. 202 words (S14) PT 3 - Expansion - Rabidsponge21 - 04-09-2019 SHL CW (S14) PT 3 - Expansion - toivo - 04-09-2019 Washington Renegades Well, they let the cat out the bag, and you know what they say, “pandora doesn’t go back in the box”. So, why don’t we throw a team in the nation’s capital. The Renegades can adopt the red and yellow color scheme. Washington, DC, could use a football team with a good owner. While there are valid concerns of a Washington team stepping on the toes of Norfolk, perhaps it could be good for getting people outside of Norfolk interested in the DSFL as well. Renegades is a good, menacing name. The branding could come off really clean depending on the on the focus. I would not concentrate on the Renegade aspect for a logo outside of using the letter R. For mascots, I would use an eagle, naturally. Eagles are the national bird, but some say that ol’ Ben Franklin wanted a turkey as the national bird. Fortunately for all of us that enjoy a healthy bird on Thanksgiving that did not happen. However, would that allow us to eat eagle instead? Tangent aside, Washington would be a fine place for a team. A great visit for tourist fans, you can stop by the national mall, see the Smithsonians and then catch a Renegades’ game. Plus, who doesn’t enjoy that Styx song? (Domo Arigato) (S14) PT 3 - Expansion - Duilio05 - 04-09-2019 If given the opportunity to create my own expansion team, I would select Vancouver Canada as my location. There is a mythical lore of the islands in the bay. It is said that some of them move. Locals continue to pass down a tall tale about the giant Lion Turtle that lives near Vancouver. It is believed that this Lion Turtle has protected the region for thousands of years. Many even speculate that Vancouver Island itself might be a sleeping Lion Turtle. For this team, the color scheme would be brown, like Khaki, and green. The helmet logo should be the hexagon that is seen on the back of the Lion Turtle from Avatar The Last Airbender. Even the stadium should have a hexagon shape. The stadium name will be Pro-bending Arena The hexagon itself would be black, with a background color of dark khaki. The mascot obviously will be a gorgeous Lion Turtle. The uniforms will be a forest green with khaki strips and highlights. The team’s supporter group will be called Order of the White Lotus. You can expect them to be tailgating every Sunday with episodes of Avatar the Last Airbender on the big screens. Everyone enjoys watching Avatar the Last Airbender on repeat. Go Lion Turtles! It’s time for the league to tap into a brand new market and go international. Introducing the newest team to join the NSFL… The Costa Rica Sloths! ![]() The team will represent Costa Rica, but play out of Miami, FL, the closest US city to the country of Costa Rica. As part of the expansion, the Hard Rock Stadium will be dubbed “The Rain Forest” with profits from ticket sales going to support environmental conservation groups. At home games, fans will also get a chance to meet and take photos with the team mascot, Santiago the Sloth. ![]() Like any expansion, it will take some time for the Sloths to build up to be a competitive contender, but while their rise may be slow, they are destined to be one of the greatest teams in NSFL history. With the support of an entire nation behind them as internet fans across the world, this organization is sure a strong and loyal fanbase. The NSFL would be absolutely foolish to overlook the drawing power of the Sloths! 201 Words (S14) PT 3 - Expansion - slothfacekilla - 04-09-2019 (04-09-2019, 12:59 PM)SwagSloth Wrote:The Costa Rica Sloths! It's beautiful! (S14) PT 3 - Expansion - White Cornerback - 04-09-2019 Written Option: Expansion is coming! But we don’t know where to yet. You get to Create a franchise in a city of your choosing. Describe this new team. Come up with a mascot, color scheme, or maybe name the stadium. Tell why you chose this town. Have fun with it. I'm going to go with the highly original Dublin Shamrocks. Yes this is the exact same team that has been in Madden since Madden 12 for relocation options (p sure the game's not changed much even since then) Why Dublin? Well beyond Belfast or even Cork, it's the most known county in Ireland. Plus it serves as the capital. Team logo is of course a shamrock, even as cliched and stereotypical as that seems. Mascot would probably be like a Shamrock, same as the logo. A shamrock with legs, yes that will do perfectly. I know most of you americans are thinking, why not pick a leprechaun? Because that's an awful caricature of the Irish people. Plus we don't want to infringe copyright regulations. The Stadium will be called either the Soldier Stadium or a mixture of Fianna Stadium/Fianna Field. I chose the location and down because, yes you guessed it, I'm from the Republic of Ireland. While I won't campaign for an N/A team, because I don't think the league needs one right now. I'd like to see other parts of the US get represented in the NSFL. I have no doubt that the GM's chosen will be more than suitable for the role. Against early speculation of the winning bid going to Hawaii or Atlanta. The team name was also released and they will be the Wisconsin Lumberjacks. They will play in the "Lumberyard" which will be sponsored by Under Armor. The stadium will have the capacity level of 75,000. Their mascot will be Paul Bunyan, a legendary lumberjack. The logo will be a Lumberjack wearing a Green Jacket holding a red ax over his right shoulder ready to swing and the words underneath the Lumberjack “Wisconsin” “Lumberjacks” stacked. In the background their will be some mountains and Pine trees. Their endzone will have the word “Lumberjacks” in it with the background being a pine slab. And finally, their color scheme will be a brown and dark green. Their home jerseys will be a hunter green with brown helmets with green pants and their away jerseys will be white with a green helmet with green pants. Their alternate jerseys to be used in the playoffs will be a hunter green jersey with green helmet and brown pants. When asked about Wisconsin winning the bid, Mason Brown had to say "It is good to hear. I lived in Minnesota for all of my childhood and with there being no NSFL teams up there it made it hard to watch or get any of the games" later he was quoted saying "this is what the League needs, we are expanding our tentacles out to the mid-west of the United States". |
