(S17) - PT1 - Opening Day! - hihihi_62 - 08-27-2019 A new season has FINALLY arrived and although I would have loved to have been called up to play with my new NSFL the Yellowknife Wraiths but I can honestly say that I'm excited to be returning to my DSFL team, the Portland Pythons for a second and final season. We finished last season on a disappointing note losing in the Ultimini but our defence finished first in all categories and I won Defensive player of the year! This season I'm looking forward to improving and cleaning up some unfinished business. All of our defensive players are returning and we have even added a couple of solid pieces that should make our defence an impenetrable force. I'm really excited to get back out on the field and see what this terrifying Pythons defence can do this season and I really think that we will redeem our Ultimini loss from last year and win it all this season! Over on the offensive side of the ball we have some new faces, notably at QB since Franklin Armstrong went up to the NSFL but our new QB Jay Cue has been very active and I am super excited to see how he performs this season as well! He's got a capped WR in Saba Donut Man to throw the pigskin too and all of our RBs are returning as well so all in all our team is shaping up very nicely and I can't wait to kick back and watch us run through teams in the Sim!! In real life I'm fortunate enough to be a CFL and NFL fan so this is an awesome time of year for me since I get to watch football 5 days a week! Over in the CFL the playoff race is heating up so that's super exciting meanwhile the start of a new NFL season brings new optimism and I'm excited to be on the Cleveland Browns bandwagon for the season so hopefully they don't let me down. Being here during the prospect bowl and the draft and all the hype that was built up around it. I got to really get to know all my fellow rookies in S18 and got to meet the GMs and other established players in the league. When I first signed up I wasn't sure if this would be right for me and didn't know if I would last in this league but those doubts quickly went away as I fell in love with the league. After getting drafted by Palm Beach, I couldn't wait for the games to start to see myself in an actual uniform for a real team playing against the stars that I had met in the past month. It was so surreal to see number 87 in the orange and experiencing my first catch in a game that mattered. After all the hard work earning TPE and cash it was finally coming together. Not having preseason just built up more and more anticipation until week 1 finally arrived. I'm excited to see myself helping my team (even though we didn't win) but to go out and perform for a real team and put up real stats that mattered is the best feeling in the world. It’s a team to start over and pretend last year didn't happen. It’s a time to prove yourself again and ball out once more. All of this and more are some reasons why I love the beginning of the season. Although I am a sophomore and got drafted into the NSFL, both myself and my team owner agreed that it would be best for me to stay down. So I’m returning to Portland, it’s also exciting because I recently bought out the team so I own it now. Coming back into the locker room that I played in the season before fills me with joy every second i'm there. With both recently drafted rookie and veterans who are returning you never know what is going to happen in there. I almost forgot the most important part of a new season. The part everyone cares about, the part everyone tunes in to watch and all the players live for. That part would happen to be all the White Castle. I love White Castle and when I found out that the White Castle became the official sponsor of the Pythons I was ecstatic. Teammates have seen me go crazy when eating White Castle. Every single one of them will look similar to this... ![]() (S17) - PT1 - Opening Day! - C9Van - 08-28-2019 I guess I am finally excited to help the Colorado Yeti and make my rookie season in the major leagues finally. I left the Luchadores as a champion captain so now my job is to help us actually have more than one wide receiver our quarter back can actually pass to and rely on. It has been quite the hard road and whilst I am still waiting for my forum badge of my championship I look forward to the new challenges going forward. Somehow trying to make decent money in new inferior forms and trying to make 1 of the worst teams last season a better looking team. It will be hard but the young core we have will be pretty damn good in a few seasons time and with Laszlo Forty-Two taking minimum contract money it means the Yeti have more money to entice other good players to hope on that bandwagon eventually. The future is fairly promising. My main short goal is to try and get as many yards as I can for now and be conned out of nominations and a pro bowl. I will know I have a pretty good player if that happens to me again. I guess the shortest goal will to be to get my first official touchdown though! [214 words] |
