(S18) - PT4 - Fall - JKortesi81 - 11-08-2019 SHL CW (S18) - PT4 - Fall - Bwestfield - 11-08-2019 In Colorado we have a few ways to practice for the elements. James Bishop prefers to jump into a pool of cold water and then get out and start running. Mind you he does this with all of his gear on. So no only is he wet but he has the added weight of the water holding him back. His hands slippery from the water. His gloves providing moderate protection from the cold and little assistance in the process of catching the ball. Catching, already not what Bishop is known for is something that he consistently works on improving. This is something that James does in the snow as well as crazy as he is. In Colorado there is plenty of snow to practice with. If it isnt already snowing he can travel up into the mountains to practice. There are many trails that he enjoys running in the mountains. Some days during the summer are especially nice to cool down some. The wind is a completely different factor. Because he never knows how and when the ball will shift from the wind. He has the trainers set up some heavy duty fans that blow the ball in different directions while he is running routes so that he can adjust to the ball’s path. All of this fruitless of course unless McDummy has the arm strength to throw into the wind. (S18) - PT4 - Fall - PigSnout - 11-09-2019 PT Pass (S18) - PT4 - Fall - Sermokala - 11-09-2019 The secret to Baltimore Hawks recent success comes from former New England Patriot, Former Oakland (soon to be las vegas) Raiders, former Pitsburg Steeler, Antionio "The cancer on your team you need to insert language on the contract to void the guarantee in some way he doesn't see immediately" Brown. He looked too far into the abyss and the abyss looked back. In his odyssey of the offseason he went into a cryotherapy pod without shoes on and probably ruined his nerves on his feet, which are important to a guy who uses his feet to make money. The trick wasn't that he was an idiot for not wearing shoes and ignoring his obviously hurting feet to the point where he had noticeable and diagnosed nerve damage, No Antonio "The browns of clown" Brown trick was to push the boundaries of the cryotherapy pod past its intended usage. The boss may get really mad at me for this but I'm in the DROY and ROY picture despite being the last starter picked in the draft so I'm going to tell you. Havran has been throwing footballs in a quad stack cryo pod. Sweet water has somehow put a treadmill in his quad stack cryo pod. I just lift weights in my quad stack but these guys are getting crazy about it. Whats freezing rain when you threw 500 balls in negative twenty over the week? (S18) - PT4 - Fall - Hallmonitor_20 - 11-09-2019 ![]() Fall time fun with the Liberty Boys (S18) - PT4 - Fall - hihihi_62 - 11-09-2019 Winter is a real special time of year up here in Yellowknife. At the time of writing this is it a beautiful, brisk evening in the frozen tundra and the temperature is -18 degrees Celcius. Weather like that may scare some of our Southern counterparts but that's the kind of weather that the Wraiths thrive on. As we get deeper into the season things get even colder and even snowier and that allows our already elite defence to shut down any type of offence our opponents think they can run against us. The pass game which is already nearly impossible against us becomes even more difficult as the cold weather freezes the ball and the offensive players hands. That forces opponents to try and run the ball against us when we're at home which results in running backs having to run through the brick wall of a D line we have lead by superstars Nero and Leaf. When the thermometer gets that cold the Yellowknife locals come out in herds to support their local Wraiths as they huddle together in the stands yelling at the top of their lungs to stay warm which in turn motivates each one of us on the field to perform at out absolute best. (S18) - PT4 - Fall - SwagSloth - 11-09-2019 Bad weather doesn't scare Andrew Reese. Whenever he throws the ball, someone is bound to catch it. Even if someone from his own team doesn't catch it, someone from the other team will. But in all seriousness, weather is a tough variable to prepare for. Training in Arizona, the team isn't used to a large variety of weather conditions, which makes it tough when traveling. Especially against an opponent like Yellowknife, where it is always snowing. We were very fortunate not to have had to travel there during the S18 regular season. Often, the remedy for snow and rain is to run the ball more and, fortunately, Slim Shady is still able to carry the ball successfully. He's getting older, but Ruff Ruff is on his way up and should be ready to step into his new role as not only RB1 but also best boi. He will help Reese and the rest of the offense combat crazy weather conditions over the course of the next season. We love to pass the ball to guys like Valentine, Oles, and Donut, but when the wind picks up, we can attack on the ground as well. A key to our success has been the ability to avoid becoming one dimensional and a good RB is absolutely necessary for that. 216 Words (S18) - PT4 - Fall - Blueline - 11-09-2019 The Portland Pythons are use to playing in a colder climate. Now when I say colder, I don't mean an artic tundra. Portland just gets colder than most people are use too. They do have some players like cornerback Kacey Dream that is from Kansas City, Missouri. Running back Paco McTaco that is from Albuquerque, New Mexico. And kicker / punter, Diego Espinosa that is from Lake City, Florida. Since being on the Portland Pythons, these players have acclimated as best they can to the cold. However, they are the first to the heaters on the sidelines and the last to leave. Always have hand warmer bags on them and put those individual one use warming packs in their shoes. For other players like Sean O'Leary, although he is born and raised in the bay area of California. His parents are originally from Minnesota. So he has an affinity for the cold. Late in games when the cold weather has taken its toll on opposing cornerbacks. Sean O'Leary has made them pay. He has had a tremendous rookie season for the Portland Pythons and I believe the cold weather has helped him. We do a lot of our training indoors, but when the weather changes to being colder we try to train more outside. So we all can acclimate to the weather and during game day we don't notice it. Code: 230 Words (S18) - PT4 - Fall - moonlight - 11-09-2019 For Franklin Armstrong, he feels at home in the cold and chilly elements during the fall football season. The last dredges of summer transitioning to fall and eventually winter are hallmarks of the game of football. Armstrong wasn’t raised in sunny Orange County. Being raised in Southern Manitoba, Armstrong was exposed to all the elements during his football development. He can play in any weather but he especially prefers cold autumn football. There have been whisperings of an eventual matchup between the 11-2 Yellowknife Wraiths and the 10-3 Orange County Otters in the Ultimus game that will end this great 2033 season in the NSFL. Wraiths fans have been crowing at the opportunity to get a Californian team not used to the cold elements coming into Yellowknife. They forget that Armstrong, the engine of the Orange County Otters, was raised in a cold environment and has played most of his career games in cold weather conditions. If this matchup does occur, Yellowknife holding out hope for Armstrong struggling solely due to cold weather conditions is just engaging in wishful thinking. Members of a football team come from a wide variety of backgrounds, and actually thinking that where a player plays eliminates their experience in other conditions is foolish. Many Orange County Otters have been raised in fairly cold environments, and yes, some have been raised in places where’s it’s warm year round. Either way, a Wraiths and Otters matchup in the Ultimus, the two best teams in the NSFL, will be a sigh to behold. Code: 255 words (S18) - PT4 - Fall - TubbyTim69 - 11-09-2019 So IRL I'm an offensive line coach and an Offensive coordinator so I love running the football. Today's pass happy Offence arent exciting to watch. When it comes to November and crappy weather the run game is the way to go. Philadelphia has the best RB in the league with Torenson. Feed him the ball. A RB should be having 25-30 rushing attempts a game when the weather hits below -13 C, statistically a team with a heavy run game has a more efficient QB. The run game sets up everything else, and without a run game you're just playing catch and the turnover rate is even higher. Now as a defense you need to buckle down. Corners need to play more aggressively and linebackers have to be giant walls. With it becoming a more physical game injuries go up. So back ups have to be ready to go. Fall time is the best time for hard physical running football. Easily the best type of football out there. Offensively Torenson is great cold weather running game, but defensively look no further than Thudd Kassel. He is the old school hit first ask later type of Linebacker. The dude wears a neck pad. You cannot trust linebackers who wear neck pads because they have no regard for their lives so they're obviously not going to care about yours. |
