There are a lot of promising S2 draftees, but for now I think that the running back Ardie Savea looks like a legit candidate for being picked first. The New Zealand native was actually a rugby player before pursuing his career as a football player. So we already can say this player will be an interesting man to see as there are not a lot of former rugby players who made it into the NSFL league. To be exact, only Luke Tiernan managed to successfully change his style of play and he has already proved it's not impossible to make a transition. Also, Savea's work ethic should make his transition period even more easier.

He was claimed by the Sabercats team a week ago and he already made an appearance in two games. He amassed two yards in one attempt which is not a thing to brag about, but I should point it out that he was sitting behind more experienced guys like Bowers Jr. and Wiley so don't let these stats distract you. Also, he performed in both prospect games where he managed to collect 121 yards in 46 attempets with 12 yd's being the longest gain. He even was able to catch 1 pass which is actually a WR's job to do.

In overall, this guy should be a hot draftee who can not be missed. His performance in prospect games and his work ethic are going to provide a bright future for him, no doubts about it.

Another rugby union convert, this time hailing from the rugby heartland that is New Zealand. Ardie Savea set the rugby world alight when he stormed onto the scene in 2013. The younger brother of fellow rugby league superstar Julian Savea, Ardie looked to step out of the shadow of his brother when he decided to make a move into American Football and the National Simulation Football League.

Known as "The bus" in rugby union circles due to his combative running style, Savea has elected to start off his NSFL career playing as a running back, but has stated his willingness to switch position if necessary.

If Savea can show us the athleticism that he is known for in rugby union, he is sure to be a bona fide star on the gridiron.

A starting running back in both prospect games thus far, Savea has struggled slightly. averaging just 2.4 yards per carry off 35 carries in the first game and a better 3.4 average yards per carry off 11 carries in the second game.

Like the other rugby converts, the questions will persist about whether he will be a flash in the pan in pro football or if he is here to stay.

Comments coming out of the Kiwi's camp, suggest it is the latter, and I have no doubt that if he put's the hard work in, he'll be setting the league a light come season two.

The frontrunner to Season 2 prospects, the top of the crop is Offensive Lineman Tim Pest. Tim Pest as a member of the Arizona Outlaws has been a massive impact player on one of the best line's in the league. Time came off waivers in mid June Tim Pest has worked his way into the elite conversations in the NSFL. Pest who is 6'5.5 350 pound road grater has made a big impact on the Outlaws, their game plan, and their ability to compete for a championship this in the first season. Tim Pest is ranked eleventh in pancakes with thirty three pancakes against some of the most impactful defensive tackles and defensive ends in the league. Tim Pest's training regimen has become legend, making huge strides in his physical ability since entering the league. The Columbia grad was expected by many pigskin theorists to become a more cerebral member of the offensive line league, but instead the muscular Pest focused his mental energy and gains in the weight room. With the Otters and the Outlaws looking to square off in a titanic matchup for home field advantage in the semifinals of the NSFL playoffs, football observers for the season two draft will be keen to see what the Columbia grad shows.

One name that stands out from the S2 Draft Class is Bork Björnsson, defensive tackle hailing from the capital of Iceland, Reykjavík. Standing at 6’5” and weighing in at 330lbs he looks every bit as intimidating as a true Viking. His most proficient attribute is his speed, which he uses to beat offensive linemen off the mark. This is highlighted in the first two prospect games where he had 3 tackles in each, along with a sack in both games. One sack even resulted in a safety meaning Bork has already shown he can put points on the board from the defensive side of the ball. The Pomona Mongoose are very happy to have his services on their side of the two prospect teams and any team in the draft who passes on his talents will regret their mistake once the season starts. Bork will bring to the team that drafts him not only a great talent and locker room presence but a leader and most importantly a great celebration and crowd chant in the Viking Thunder Clap. This phenomenon, made famous by the Icelandic fans in the 2016 European Championships held in France, already has the fans in Pomona going crazy and would only add to the atmosphere in any NSFL stadium.

Dermot Lavelle is probably the best player in the S2 draft class. He's one of the best shutdown cornerbacks in the league. He's the third player to have more than ten passes defended. He has now 13 passes defended, 2nd most in the league as a cornerbacks. He has also 53 tackles which is the third most as a cornerback. Having the chance to practice against the #1 WR in the league Josh Garden helped Lavelle growth. He can also be a edge rusher, he has 1 forced fumble and a recovered fumble. He's versatile, capable of understanding the opponent routes and can be a factor on any side of the field. He's only weakness would probably be his lack of strength but this is not a big deal as he can put some weight during the offseason. One of the expansion team will have a very good backfield for the next season because Dermot Lavelle is at least a top 2 players in S2.

The verdict is in, the jury is unanimous: the most consistent safety in the season two draft is Isaiah McGinn. In each of his preseason outings, his presence has been sorely felt by the opposing team. In game 1, he led the Flint Sun Tropics with a crushing nine tackles and 1 pass defended. In game 2, McGinn had a solid but quieter outing. His His five tackles didn't less the squad, but he also had an interception and a pass defended. In addition to his solid start line, he's a smart and disciplined character. In both games he didn't suffer a single penalty to mar his stat line.

As an early drafted safety, he's represented himself well in eight games posing for the Baltimore Hawks. In his games against the big boys, he's crushed an average of over four tackles a game with two interceptions, one forced fumble and two passes defended. Not too shabby for someone stepping into the league after the initial draft! He is far and away the most consistent contributor to his rookie squad.

He will certainly be the first safety drafted in the forthcoming session 2 draft and will be able to contribute to whatever team is lucky enough to pick him up. GMs, make sure you take notice of this future juggernaut of the secondary.

S2 Draftees? They're actually having a draft? Anyways, I guess if I had to pick someone who's going to be good, it'd be Gregor Clegane. He has a decent pedigree behind him with football and sports in general, so he comes from a good blood line. He's been a huge part of protecting me this season and honestly it sucks thinking that he could end up protecting another QB next season. Hopefully if that's the case, he will let everyone from OC get behind him and destroy the QB of the new team he's on. His loyalty runs that deep and if any other team even considers drafting him, he will absolutely collude and make it so Orange County always beats whatever poor team he ends up on. That being said, I wouldn't be upset if he stays here through the magic of persuasion. He's saved my beautiful face more times than I can remember and it hasn't even been an entire season yet. I'll strongly consider getting him some kind of trinket as a token of my appreciation. Maybe one of those left over #12 key rings I had made a few months ago that nobody wanted to buy. Hey, it's the thought that counts.

One player that is going to play a big role in the S2 draft that isn't being talked about is Matthew Vincent. The WR was claimed by the Arizona Outlaws, a team that is known for finding talent with the claims of Blaster Blade, Tim Pest, and now Matthew Vincent. The first two have been helping the team so far, but from here on out there is a good chance they could use Matthew Vincent, especially with King Bronko changing positions. I think that Matthew Vincent is a player who could end up developing into a top tier Wide Receiver in the league, especially with the path that he is currently on. He is racking up points to improve and is very involved with getting to know the team. I think that his upward trajectory is something could make him a big time impact player in a league where players are falling off by the game. Though it's a very filled position, the WR takes at least 3 on a team and as passing gets more progressive in the league, players like Matthew Vincent will be able to expose the less talented CBs that they face out of the slot or weaker ones on the perimeter.

Dermot Lavelle. Tim Pest. Greg Clegane. These are the names we all see front and center when it comes to talking about Season 2's prospects. And it's well deserved, as all these guys have worked incredibly hard to build their brand and their draft stocks.

But today, for the purpose of bringing to light another hard worker, look no further than Ardie Savea, the ex-New Zealand All-Blacks rugby star, who now suits up for the San Jose SaberCats. The SaberCats already have the starting running back job locked up by star of the league Vick Bowers, Jr. But that has not deterred Ardie Savea in the slightest of ways. He has repeatedly stated that he is so grateful for his time in San Jose, and has already earned 25 TPE since joining the league only a short time ago. He should see some increased time in the final two weeks of the inaugural season, as the 'Cats find themselves coming up short of a playoff position. They are likely to possess the first non-expansion team pick in the Season 2 Draft, and who knows what they will decide to do with it. The future is bright for San Jose, and if they reunite with Savea in the offseason, then they will have plenty more drive and desire to win on their squad!

It is this kind of dedication and work ethic that makes Ardie Savea both a standout and under the radar prospect for Season 2!
