The past year has been a trying and turbulent one for the Jenkins household. After Mama Dakota Reid retired from hockey back in June, she's tried to be more active in her daughter Rose Jenkins' life. Rosie, who is currently the QB of the Chicago Butchers, would join the team later that month, meaning that by the time Koda was retired, her daughter was beginning to play in her hometown. This all coming after Rosie publicly announcing her relationship with Dorothy Morimura of the PBE.

Honestly, all anyone in this family wants to do is just sit around and not talk about sports. Or at least not talk about any of the sports that they play. Rosie's Butchers have essentially collapsed around her, while Dottie was just recently traded from the team she began her career with after months of animosity hit a boiling point. Christmas itself was fairly normal, presents were exchanged and such. But the real fun was Boxing Day, the Thanksgiving of English soccer. Early on December 26th, the whole family gets together at the house on the South Side and have a traditional English breakfast crafted by Leroy. Even their cousin Tegan Atwell showed up with her new girlfriend. Although Koda's QPR fell short against Reading, everyone cheered on Dottie's Aberdeen in a 2-1 win to bring them up to 4th in the league.

The holidays are a very exciting time in the Yellowknife Wraiths locker room. Every year on December 23 all of the boys get together at the local Yellowknife saloon and get piled up on Cooter's tab. Typically by things are all said and done the bill is several thousand dollars and the local police officers are arriving in their riot gear...even though one or two of the boys end up in the drunk tank for the night it's all good because it's a "tradition". The 24th is usually spent cuddling up nursing our hangovers and watching a marathon of Christmas movies including everyones favourite the grinch. On Christmas morning we all open our gifts and then head over to BigRed's house and he cooks an enormous dinner for the boys complete with turkey, ham and reindeer. We sign carols, drink egg nog, and play secret santa among other things. The holidays wouldn't be complete without heading back to the Yellowknife Pub on New Years .. once again on Cooter's tab... to be even more piled up. Since santa is done delivering gifts for the year he usually stops by to join the boys. Lucky for him his reindeer are legally considered Designated Drivers so santa doesn't even have to worry about a cab!

Dillard spent his Christmas with his parents back home in West Lafayette. Some of the family came over from all around the country, and this was their first time seeing Dillard since he became a professional football player. The forseen jabbing about how he went to school at Indiana University in a Purdue household came and went. After that everyone mostly did their own thing waiting for Christmas Dinner: The children begged everyone to open presents, little Timmy manage to open one, most of the older folk sat and talked, Dillard's parents mostly lauded their little dill pickle, Dillard though pent most of his time with his cousins playing video games with his cousins. This reminded Dillard of a simpler time before he trained to be a pro football player. After dinner was ready everyone sat all over the house and had a traditional Christmas feast with ham and all of the fixings. Finally the main event came it was time to open presents, the kids were about as excited as a kid on Christmas for their long excruciating wait had finally come to fruition. Dillard had made sure to get everyone one in his family something really nice with his first paycheck. This day was a nice escape from all the blood, sweat and tears that he poured into his work.
