(S1) - Ultimus Week - AsylumParty - 07-07-2017 Playoff Predictions ---- Competing tonight for the Glacies trophy, or more simply, the championship title of the NSFC are the Yellowknife Wraiths and the Colorado Yeti. Out of all the big games this season, this one may be labeled as the most predictably unpredictable yet. After the Yeti broke their slight losing streak on Wednesday night against the Wraiths, they garnered home field advantage. This may in fact be the boost they need heading into the game that will precede the biggest game of the year, the Ultimus. I'm going to have to give the edge to the yeti for just that reason. Morale works in subtle ways and if there's any advantage to tip the scale one way or another, that may be all that's needed against such evenly matched teams. Also playing tonight, but rather, for the Solis trophy, are the Orange County Otters and Arizona Outlaws. Across the street from the NSFC are the ASFC competitors looking to put on a good show. Unfortunately for Otters fans, I don't see that happening. With the Outlaws looking fired up about this game, having beaten the Otters four out of five games this season, it's no wonder why - history is bound to repeat itself. It seems like a sure thing that we'll be seeing the Outlaws in the Ultimus. Cold as it is in Colorado, count on the Yeti heating up when they take down the Outlaws in an upset come Ultimus day. Future Talent ---- Who's going first round first pick in the S2 draft? Dermot Lavelle. Who's had a huge impact this first season? Dermot Lavelle? Who's going to have the most significant impact during the playoffs as a rookie? Dermot Lavelle. One last question; who made this choice the easiest decision I've made all day? Dermot Lavelle. This man is tied for first in passes defensed AND interceptions among cornerbacks. He's a ROOKIE, and an absolute ball hawk. No, wait, he's more than a ball hawk. Think of it like, Dermot is the SaberCats and the ball is an L. TAKE IT. Get out of this man's way. Now, he's a humble enough guy, you probably won't hear him uptalking himself this drastically, but nonetheless, it's deserved. He's, without a doubt, a future Hall of Famer and I'm very excited to see where his career takes him. I'm sure his ascendance to the top is in no small part due to him learning behind an excellent veteran corner in Dirk Cutter. If Dermot ends up on another team next year, perhaps he can play mentor to a very lucky young defensive back looking to emerge. I can't imagine a better landing spot than the other side of the field from Dermot Lavelle. Regardless of where he ends up though, tonight Logan Noble had better avoid Lavelle island if he's looking to make it to the Ultimus next week! Bottom Third ---- There are so many things to be said regarding the Baltimore Hawks and the San Jose SaberCats, so many questions to be asked. Where does the road start that leads us to a ten loss season? Perhaps we should evaluate Baltimore's defense. You know how quarterbacks like to toss through the tire swing? Let's compare Baltimore's defense to one of those, but it's a tractor tire and it's hanging from an oak five feet away. They have their fair share of impressive stats like interceptions, but time and time again allow ridiculous amounts of yardage to opposing offenses. Not only that, but it is NOT hard to get into the end zone against these guys. Hey, they might even roll out the red carpet with confetti at the end for you. What about last night's playoff game? The SaberCats' typically weak offense had an exceptionally easy time simply strolling into the end zone for thirty one points - three of those coming through the air and one from the ground game. Granted, Ethan Hunt has been on fire lately, but the Hawks only managed to highlight their glaring weakness, putting up no resistance. At least one thing's for sure. Heading into the draft, the only choices they'll have to make are between defensive players. Should be quite the long draft board , nevertheless. Offensive Comparison ---- If I were to ask you to pick a wide receiver, any wide receiver, who might you say? Maybe a good one, like Jeremy Maclin? Maybe a great one, like A.J. Green? What about a mediocre one like A.J. Hawkins? Well, if you selected someone closer to the caliber of A.J. Hawkins and someone else selected, say, Calvin Johnson, you'd have the opposing wide outs featured tonight when the Colorado Yeti take on the Yellowknife Wraiths. Granted, it's never been all about the passing game for the Yeti, they're a well rounded team and they've proven time and time again that they can overcome the odds at certain positional disadvantages, but the conference championship is not when you want to have to overcome a disadvantage like this one. Kendrick Hendrix is solid. He'll occasionally make a big play and he catches most balls you throw his way, but opposite him will be Josh Garden, the Megatron of the NSFL. He's a big guy, a monster even, standing 6'3" defensive backs dread the days they're jumping for balls against this quick tower. He's a play-maker and that's exactly what you want to have when you're making a push for the first ever Ultimus trophy. Defensive Comparison ---- I'm sure we've all heard at one time or another that defense wins championships. Sorry, but I need to make a clarification; a defense with Jonathan Saint, arguably the league's best linebacker wins championships. Eight tackles and two sacks is enormous. It's the type of play you get out of a championship defensive player, as a matter of fact. That's what Saint brought to the table in the championship game against the Wraiths last night as the Yeti made their Ultimus push. Saint isn't alone, however. You don't have to look far to find another clearly championship caliber linebacker because he was playing for the opposing Wraiths, unfortunately Lindarius Shelton couldn't do enough alone to spur on the win. Still, ten tackles is no small feat. Especially considering the fact that he managed to eclipse the one hundred tackle milestone during his first full year on the field. Shelton is clearly a consistent tackle machine that you can count on game in game out to be a force in the middle of the field. When you've got someone that can scare wide outs into rethinking that slant pattern, you've got someone dangerous. In fact, you might just have a future hall of famer. I know, I know, spoken way too son. But someone's gotta make it, and if I was a betting man, Shelton and Saint would both be prospects. (S1) - Ultimus Week - Esa77 - 07-07-2017 1. It was merely a two point battle headed late into the 4th quarter until he decided to be greg Jennings and put the team on his back, doe. His 97 yard touchdown was the longest all season. He ended the hopes of otters fans amd players a like in around 10 seconds. He was truly the most valuable player for the outlaws no matter how you swing it amd he definitely killed it. Nobody else really came with in even an inch of the stat wide outs game that fateful night of American football. Because if not for the heroics of storm blessed who knows if the outlaws scored 21 in a quarter again? Nobody does know but we don't have to wonder because of what storm blessed did, some thing so incredible there will be legends written in his favor. He deserves to after the most amazing game I've seen out of a wide receiver all year to be frank. I think he'll be even better against the Colorado yeti too with their weak secondary Waiver wire pickups - blaster blade Mister blaster blade, yes that is the name of some one in reality, has been a complete shock to this most this season. Building his player to be an absolute beast overnight it seems amd racking up 17 tfl with 7 sacks. He was a dominant dlinemen, this can't be more true and he's made a huge impact on the outlaws team this season. I think this will continue into the upcoming play off game against the yeti of Colorado. A team the outlaws have played well against for the most part and have beaten this year. He has the potential to beat the weak Colorado dline and absolutely man handle their weaker guards and tackles. This wouldn't be the first time this has happened to the yeti or most likely the last time either. He will definitely show up to the game and that should worry Colorado immensely with dam and tuck also occupying the same line. I'd expect at least a sack or two for blaster blade with maybe a few tfl and a ff too somewhere in there. Theres nothing for the yeti to really stop him with so that Is major reasoning for my former accusations. Why the sabercats fell short? First of all, there's many reasons as to the why the Saber cats of San Jose fell short in their conquest to at least make the playoffs. They fell short because they had barely any actives, their quarter back went inactive and so did most of their recievers besides Bailey Cook. same with most of their defensive players who decided the forums were shitty and they'd rather do something with their time. This should be a good reason as to why the Saber cats didn't win many games, they basically had no players who showed up to update their players or do anything to involve themselves. This led to them losing mostly all of their games as every other player was much more talented and had a pedigree the Saber cats had no idea about even. The Saber cats will most likely be losing alot of talent in the off season too with the loss of vick bowers seeming very likely to abandon the team after spending only a single season in San Jose. This wouldn't come at a shock to anyone as it seems everybody wants to leave the saber cats nowadays besides their star offensive linemen Ben Long Shaw who is prepared for the long haul in such a crappy team Offensive Player comparison noble vs draxel Let's start out with talking about Logan noble, a player who has a seriously strong case for mvp with his stunning passing ability leading the yeti to the title game. Finishing the year with 2600 yards and the second highest passer rating behind Chris orosz, noble had one of the best years out of all the quarterbacks, the only quarter back you can really say did better than him would be Mr Vincent draxel who's the qb we are comparing Mr Logan noble to. Noble threw half the amount of picks but also threw way less tds. Though both are a hundred percent pro bowl caliber quarterbacks Now lets talk about Vincent draxel, he's probably the statistically best quarterback in the entire national simulation football league. He has passed for almost 3000 yards, 20 touchdowns though throwing 14 picks and him going inactive near the end has tarnished him a bit. Probably still the best quarterback still and hell just grow when he or if he comes back to the league to claim his glory of being in the title game jn his first year as a starter. I'm sure arizona is hoping he isn't a one hit wonder in this league because he sure has the talent to keep it up Defensive player comparison - saint v tuck these two players may not play the same position but they both kill opposing quarterbacks, seriously, let's start with the league leading sack leader in jayce who had a solid year. Pulling in 16 sacks of the opposing teams Quarterback and he did this in only 14 games and he's one of the only two players who averaged more than a sack per game, the other being Johnathan saint who averaged over 1 game too. He hit 15 on the hit, tuck led the outlaws to have the most total team sacks for the entire year. Saint, who's a pass rush focused linebacker finished the year with 15 sacks amd led all line backers by far in sack total. The next largest amount was Fulton who finished with around twelve sacks, he led the yeti to have an amazing defense and into the ultimus cup. We look forward ro seeing these two absolutely defensive juggernauts face off for all the marbles as this single matchup could determine who wins it all. That's how much effect both of these young men have om their teams chances to win a game, both have a bigger effect then any other defensive player in then entire national simulation football league (S1) - Ultimus Week - Grapehead - 07-08-2017 Offense Comparison ![]() Defense Comparison ![]() Bottom Third The first NSFL season ended in disappointment for the Baltimore Hawks and the San Jose Sabercats, but their fates were sealed well before the final game. Looking at the Hawks you see that their defense was absolutely bottom of the league. With 330 points scored against them they essentially buried themselves each and every game. They often faced deficits too large to overcome, and despite the second most points for the Hawks defense continually let them down. No loss more embarrassing than their final game of the season in which they were pounded 31-3 by their basement buddies the San Jose Sabercats. Now looking at the Sabercats season you can draw some similarities. For example, the Sabercats had the second most points against with 291, leaving the Hawks and Sabercats at the bottom of the league together. For the Sabercats though they didn't have a strong offense to try and fall back on; essentially there was no bright spot for the woeful Sabercats. However, they did finish the season strong, going 2-1 in the last 3 weeks. Some say the Sabercats turned a corner, but that early losses buried their playoff hopes before the season was even half over. Needless to say that poor defense was the largest contributor to the lackluster seasons in Baltimore and San Jose, and if they hope to bounce back next season they will need to address these issues immediately. Playoff Series MVP Logan Noble dominated the NSFC championship game, going 25/37 with 229 yards and threw the games only touchdown. Noble played the game with a calm demeanor and carried himself with poise the whole way. In critical situations he was getting the job done, going 10/21 on 3rd downs; compared to 4/16, 2/14, and 1/13 for the other QBs in the playoffs. His team draws a lot of momentum and stability from his steady play, and he is relied on heavily to dictate the pace of each game. While a player like Vincent Draxel put up quality numbers in his teams victory, it was largely a victory despite some sloppy areas of play. Shift back to Noble and you can see his success trickled down the lineup and the Yeti delivered a complete team effort to shut down the Wraiths offense. Noble was able to control the game so well that Colorado had 13 minutes of possession more than the Wraiths. It is hard to say if the Yeti would still have defeated the Wraiths without Noble, but I stand firm that he was the hands down MVP of the conference championships. In fact, I'm not even sure if the Yeti make the playoffs without Logan Noble running their offense. (S1) - Ultimus Week - :.Elite.: - 07-08-2017 Offense Comparison: The Ultimus match up is set with the Arizona Outlaws taking on the Colorado Yeti. In this match up we will see two of the very best, yet opposite styles, of quarterbacks going head to head. On the Arizona side you have Vincent Draxel, gunslinger extraordinaire. Draxel had interesting season filled with a lot of ups and a lot of downs. He tossed a league high 20 touchdowns but at the same time threw 14 picks. On the opposite side for the Outlaws you have Logan Noble who couldn't be more opposite than Draxel. Noble likes to be efficient and limit risks. He racked up 15 touchdowns this season and limited his turnovers to eight interceptions. On that same token he had a QB rating of 77.2 which was 5 points higher than the gunslinger Draxel. Whether it is the gunslinger mentality or the limit risks attitude, they have led their respective team all the way up to the final game. Both of these guys lead their team with conflicting styles so who will come out on top? It might depend on the game plan but one thing is for sure that we will either see fireworks or a defensive battle. It will definitely be a fun and exciting match up to watch. 213 words Defense Comparison: Sticking to the theme of comparing the two Ultimus teams we will take a look at Outlaw linebacker Brady Stropko and Yeti linebacker Jonathan Saint. Both of these guys put up big numbers and were all over the field on defense. Brady Stropko was a wrecking machine in the backfield this season totaling 11 tackles for loss to go along with 9 sacks. He wasn't just a guy who rushed the passer however, he also racked up 113 tackles, 3 pass deflections, and registered a safety. He is the Outlaw's most versatile linebacker and a major key to the game for them. Jonathan Saint on the other hand was an even bigger pass rushing threat this season. Not only did he rack up 101 tackles but 4 went for a loss and he registered an eye popping 14 sacks. His sack total was good for second in the entire league and he is a guy that can really cause a lot of trouble for Outlaw QB Vincent Draxel. Both of these guys get after the quarterback and live in the backfield but which one can affect the outcome of the game the most? Whichever one is able to force the most pressure may end up being the biggest key to an Ultimus Championship. 213 words Bottom Third The San Jose Sabercats did not have the season they were hoping for after the inaugural draft had concluded. They looked like a strong team, possessing loads of potential talent on both sides of the ball. However the biggest downfall to the team may have been the quarterback position. The guy they hoped would be their franchise quarterback, Jameis Christ, did not pan out and they went out and acquired Ethan Hunt. Unfortunately Hunt did not work out much better and has since made it clear that he has no plans on re-signing with the Sabercats when his contract is up. The quarterback position wasn't the only thing that hurt them, they did not get great yards per carry output from the running game, and they coupled that with one of the worst offensive lines in the league. This put a lot of pressure on the defense to come with the fire each and every week and it ultimately proved to be too great of a burden. The Sabercats are going to have a rough time piecing together a competitive offense, after word that Vick Bowers Jr. will be testing free agency, and backup running back Demetrius Wiley retiring. It may take them a season or two to get back in contention but the tools are their for a turn around if they do the right things in the next couple of off seasons. 234 words Future Talent The world of waiver claims, getting a player before he becomes a draftee, is a great thing sometimes. You can find yourself one of the best rental players that turn out to help you in your season but sometimes even become one of your biggest impact players. That can be said about Arizona Outlaws defensive end Blaster Blade. Since joining the NSFL and getting claimed by the Outlaws, Blade has gone on to work tirelessly to become one of the fiercest and most talented defensive ends in the entire league. Despite playing a rotation with two other supremely talented defensive ends, Blade has found his niche, and even contributed with a sack, 4 tackles, and another tackle for loss in the playoff victory over the Otters. The pressure he applied to Boss at various times throughout the game helped get Boss uncomfortable and get happy feet in the pocket. His 41.4% completion percentage and being sacked four times was certainly a testament to the kind of pressure Blade was able to apply in the game. He figures to play a big role in the Ultimus and is certainly setting himself up to be one of the best rookies in next season's rookie draft. 203 words Playoff Series MVP The Arizona Outlaws made quick work of the Orange County Otters and it was in large part due to a dominate defensive performance. The team had many standout players on the afternoon, harassing Otters quarterback Mike Boss to the tune of 190 yards, 1 touchdown, 4 interceptions, and sacking him 4 times. You could pick any number of players from the Outlaw and you could make a good argument for series MVP but the clear winner in my eyes has to be line backer Jaylon Lee. Lee was a force on the field and was literally everywhere. He chased down a ball carrier for 9 tackles, brought down Boss for one sack, and also picked him off once that Lee returned for a touchdown. This touchdown would be the icing on the cake as it put the Otters completely out of contention for the rest of the game. He had a performance reminiscent of Von Miller in Super Bowl 50 and if he can bring that kind of performance to the Ultimus then the Yeti have a tough night ahead of them. It will be hard to replicate these numbers again but for this night, he was the clear MVP on the field, and he played perhaps the biggest part in setting the tone for this game. 217 words (S1) - Ultimus Week - Peterson - 07-08-2017 Written Points Offensive Comparison: Compare one offensive player from each team in a series. Can be completed at any point Cooper Christmas Baltimore Hawks, Josh Garden Yellowknife Wraiths, Kurt Hendrix Colorado Yeti, All the go to guys of the NFSC. These are the primary targets for each team and lets say that it has been a rather interesting season for all three of these players, each had high expectations set for them, lets take a look at who handled the pressure and who simply fell apart. On paper that stats speak for themselves Josh Garden put up some outstanding numbers on the field this year and it showed, with 70 catches for a whooping 1178 total yards and 7 touchdowns! It was a amazing year for him, especially playing against teams whom many would say have distant or non exsisting secondaries, then theres Cooper Christmas, Christmas was highly anticipated to be a top notch wide out this season and plagued by constant drops and constant coverage he only managed to bring in a total of 47 receptions for 705 total yards while playing all 14 games of the season, or a grand finally of 2 touchdowns. Many Hawks fans were excited to see Christmas hit the field but that would soon turn to a one sided love affair. Then theres Hendrix, while not a much higher performance throughout the season he has managed to keep his head held high and be there to move the ball down the field for the Yeti, 69 receptions for a total of 868 yards to tally out 4 touchdowns on the season, he has hopes to continue to improve and has the potential to be a great go to target, but with stats like these it has to make his QB question if hes really the target to throw to. Between these 3 players its obvious who the leader was this season and should be interesting to see if Garden is a one hit wonder or if hes going to go far with back to back massive seasons. Code: 324 Words Defensive Comparison: Compare one defensive player from each team in a series. Can be completed at any point Bottom Third: Write about why the Baltimore Hawks and/or San Jose Sabercats were not able to make the playoffs. Can be completed at any point The Baltimore Hawks the sad prodigy that never was. Highly regarded as one of the potential power teams coming off a strong 4-0 preseason the Hawks players and fanbase was at an all time high, however many problems would plague this team till the bitter end with a 4-10 final record tied as worst in the league with the Sabercats. While we can only truely speculate, the team started miserably with an 0-3 start to the season, while the Hawks kept it close in the end they couldnt seal the deal, inconsistency would be the ultimate downfall of this team, with mid season changes looming player happiness reached an all time low and it showed as the Co-GM of the team resigned, bringing in new leadership in the middle of a season would be a risky move no matter the record your team holds and it went to show that for the Hawks it didnt work out, with a struggling defense, the Hawks only managed 36 sacks the entire season, this gave opposing QBs free range to attack the secondary with force, the bright side of the Hawks defense was its secondary ranking 3rd in Interceptions they were ballhawkers and attempted to shut down the opposing QB, had the Hawks actually had an effective Defensive Line they could have contended to the playoffs but without the solid rushing attack they were picked apart in the end. Lets talk offense here 253 completed passes out of 434 attempted, with 2581 total passing yards the Hawks once again couldnt complete a pass to save their lives, due to high inconsistency on the offensive side of the ball the defense was forced to try and carry the team, the hawks gave up to many 3rd down conversions which once again would enable the opposing team to keep striking at the defense. By a let down on both sides of the ball its fair to say the Hawks all around caused their own failures in not being able to effectively manage the game which would be their undoing and knock them out of playoff contention. Code: 351 words Future Talent: Write about which S2 waiver pickup will or did have the biggest impact in the playoffs. Can be written at any time depending on if you choose to write about who already has or who will do good (S1) - Ultimus Week - theFlock - 07-08-2017 Offensive Comparison: Compare one offensive player from each team in a series. Lincoln Jefferson vs Kendrick Hendrix In a pass dominated league, these two receivers stand inside of the top 10. Lincoln Jefferson, a Red Zone specialist, has shown his prowess this season, notching the 3rd highest in Receiving Touchdowns, 6. His hands, combined with his speed and strength, are what set him above his counterpart. With 80 speed, 75 hands, and 50 strength, he could easily be compared to a young Julio Jones in his ability to use his size and muscle to bully young corners. Standing at 6'6" 230lbs, Jefferson is a mammoth of a man being covered by Defensive Backs that resemble ants. Its easy to see why Jeffersons numbers were so great. With 37 yards shy of the century mark, and a 13 YPC, Jefferson shows why teams can't afford to double Stormblessed every game. With the receiving duo down in Arizona, Colorado corners will have a tough time managing. Kendrick Hendrix is no slouch either. Standing at 6'1" 202lbs, the Route Running receiver plays the game with flashes of Odell Beckham Jr on his breaking routes and Jeremy Maclin with his crisp routes and sure hands. With 80 Speed, and 76 Hands, Hendrix matches up with Jefferson almost identically, but what sets the two apart is size and quickness. Hendrix, the much smaller receiver, relies on quick cuts and clean routes, and it's all made possible with his 73 agility. The ability to stop on a dime and move his feet allow great separation from corners and great plays in open field. Hendrix has also shown his worth as a Kick Returner. Teams tend to kick away from him, and it shows, with only 8 returns on the season, but he showed great flashes in college, and there is a reason they aren't giving him the chance. Arizona will also have their hands full matching up with Hendrix as they play for the Ultimus. Code: 312 words Defensive Comparison: Compare one defensive player from each team in a series. Future Talent: Write about which S2 waiver pickup will or did have the biggest impact in the playoffs. @Blaster Blade, the 6'5" 290lb Power Rushing Defensive End out of Austin, Texas has the tools for success, and the stats to back it up. The massive, physically imposing defender down in the trenches, stands at 6'5" 290lbs. Combine that with his speed, and he's a nightmare for offensive lines and the coaching. With 78 speed and a 75 strength, Blaster is already a very well rounded young prospect. He currently plays on a team that takes pride in its defense and Blaster takes on an important role down bottom to create tons of pressure. Along with Dental Dam, and Jayce Tuck, Blade has showed he can hold his own and has the stats to prove it. All three of defensive ends finished the season with 47 tackles, while Blade and Tuck share a whopping 17 tackles for loss. With 7 sacks on the year and two forced fumble, Blade is showing exactly how important he is to a defense. With the ability to get into the backfield and pressure the QB, as well as stop the ball carrier behind the line with a crushing presence, Blade is shooting his draft value through the roof. If a team is going into next season with needs on the Defensive Line, it would be foolish to pass on Blaster Blade. I was especially disappointed in learning that Ethan did not with to stay a SaberCat, I personally feel he could have become a special (and dangerous) Quarterback on that team. Future Talent: Tim Pest That's that right? Honestly, that is all I'm writing. That should be all I need to write. The dude was a beast in the playoffs, an absolute monster who steam rolled a way for the Arizona Outlaws to win it all. I mean, the dude gave up NO sack in the post season. He didn't allow 1! Now, that isn't to say the Arizona Outlaws didn't give up sacks, oh boy they even gave Vinny Cox DPOG in the Ultimus match up. This is just another reason why the Outlaws need Tim Pest back, it just can't be allowed to get worse on that Offensive line. Tim Pest also tied for a Playoff record 11 Pancakes. This is a season 2 prospect everyone. A season 2 prospect who is playing better than over half of the Season 1 Offensive Linemen. The same Tim Pest who led the league in sacks allowed NONE in the playoffs. He was elite when it matter and that is why he has an Ultimus ring. Must be completed after the Championship Game Yeti vs Wraiths Theme of this game? Yeti's get the ball, and Yeti's keep the ball. It's really in the time off possession people. 36:26 versus 23:34. It's all in the numbers people. That's near 13 minutes; 13 minutes of Noble controlling the game, 13 minutes of a Wraiths D getting tired. 13 minutes of pure agony for the Wraiths offense, and for Wraiths fans. Hell, the most searched thing on google after the game was, "Would it be fine if I jumped on the Arizona Outlaws Bandwagon?" I mean, if your offense only produces 5 first down these types of things happen. Now, it wasn't a blow out, but I don't think that Wraith had control over how the game was going at all. The Yeti offense showed why they went undefeated for so long as Noble put together a terrific performance and a 25/37 Comp/Attempt. Law, Tweed, and Hendrix could not be stopped while the Yeti's D racked up sacks. The Yetis were on their way to the Ultimus. Outlaws vs Otters Now lets get to a game I actually watched in the Post Season. Not that I didn't care about the Wraiths v Yeti, I just wasn't home at the time. Now, instead of going through the routine and boring, "Yeah and Boss man threw a pick, next play he threw another", I'm going to let you dive into what I was thinking and saying on the sidelines. Harrif Ernston "Mic'ed Up" Now, as a Bengals fan I always fear the "One and done". Still I wasn't gonna let it happen. Harrif Ernston - *Bit before game starts* Hey! Come on now! No need for nerves, I'mma make a play and we'll take the game by storm. Truth be told I was probably the most nervous but I wasn't gonna let anything stop the crusade which I felt was destiny for the Arizona Outlaws. First drive of the game the Defense get off with only allowing 3 points but the guys are demoralized. We never allow those long drives. Is it the nerves, are we not as good as we though? Harrif Ernston - Hey! Let's go, we are about to make some big play. Jayce Tuck - Yeah boys, stick it in! We go on again and we come off in a 3 and out. Decent, but not the "I'll carry you" I promised in the pre-game speech. Finally, I see my chance. Nugent gets a long punt down but it is taken for -3 yards and starts their offense at the 8. Harrif Ernston - *Thinking* I just need to read this right, I've got to not give away the blitz. Tuck is beating up on his guy, it's a mismatch, I just have to rush the gap. The ball is snapped, I take off. I see Boss taking the 7 step drop back I predicted, rookie mistake. The dude is now in the endzone and thinks he's safe. I can just tell by the look in his eyes that he did not read blitz pre-snap. I'm closing and he's scambling, he can't look down field and the outcome is inevitable. 5:02 1st and 10 OCO - 8 Boss, M. SACKED by Harrif Ernston - LB for -8 yds. The play results in a SAFETY! I'm wooting and hollering, the boys are hooting are hollering and we are all ready to play. We are all ready to dominate and win the game. That is precisely what we did. The 36 to 13 victory was meant to be a show of force. We wanted to show, in front of all of our fan, we were in it to win it. Nothing less. Yet vs Outlaws ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Ok, we won yeah, but it's basically 3:00 AM and I'm trying to finish this off. OK NOW I REMEMBER THE GAME! Beside the run attack you could call this game our best win of the season. We dominated in time spent on offense. We kept our penalties very low, we allowed 5 sacks (decent for us), we dominated the passing attack, both of our QB played well, we didn't turn it over, our defense was stout, they didn't score a TD. We went out and we made a statement. We are the best team, no one was better, and no one could bring us down when it mattered. We've had to go againts some of the toughest opponents in Season 1 and we came out on top. I am so proud of the Arizona Outlaws. ![]() Championship Game Recap: Best play, easy. When Flock got that TD; that's when I knew we had a chance to bring this season full circle and take home the Ultimus. Hell, at first I didn't even know he returned it for a touchdown LOL. We are the best team in the league and don't you ever forget it! ![]() Outlaws WIN! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
