Or working on a logo and team brand that doesn't scream WNBA.

In the NHL expansion draft this year, if you traded for a player from a team before the expansion draft, the player you took would count as your selection from that team on draft day. So in the case of the nsfl, if Vegas traded for 2 players from the wraiths today, Vegas wouldn't be allowed to select anymore players from Yellowknife come expansion day. I did ask if this was how the rules were actually, but they told me that only the trades for the GM's would count as a selection on draft day. Under this system Vegas is gonna get a lot of players, because their trades aren't affecting their draft selections. So they get anyone they trade for, plus 2 free from each team on Friday.

Moves like this aren't gonna help the longevity of this league once competition comes around and things are ran the right way. Already jumped the shark by adding 2 more teams and now the commishes let this kind of shit happen. Not a lot of good decisions going on in this league wonder how long itll last like this

Pretty floored that the players Vegas are acquiring from teams do not count as their expansion draft selection. Expansion seems to be handled rather poorly due to an effort to be like "real life." Sometimes real life doesn't make sense in sim life. Oh well, can't undo a wrong now, it's come too far.

They've been reaching out to prospects more from what I hear. Not a bad approach.

Why should they? LVL is paying picks for the players. In the expansion draft, LVL and PHI will pay nothing (pick- or player- wise) for them. It's completely different.

Funny thing is that as kcobb pointed out, it's not even like real life.

Because trading for players before the expansion draft dilutes the expansion player pool. The whole point of an expansion draft is to distribute players to the expansion team. If there are no players to distribute what's the point?

It will be interesting to see how the two different approaches play out.

Not sure what is interesting. Vegas gets a early head start, Philadelphia is set back by the poor talent pool from the expansion draft due to allowing trades AND still getting to pick players from those teams.
