Mason Gillion was always on the field making plays.  Never took a play off, was always the best defensive back on the field.  His first game in the DSFL he recovered one tackle. He went from being the best defensive back on the field to 3rd string. This was his welcome the the league moment. His second game he had one tackle and one pass deflected.

Tijuana was 2-0 after his first two games but his lack of impact was eating away at him.  He started studying more film and coming in early to practice and staying later.

His third game he had 3 tackles, 3 pass deflections and an int but Tijuana lost in OT.

His hard work in practiced paid off and he was bumped up to 2nd string DB in the nickel defense where he strived in college.

Finally in week 7 he was able to make the impact he was so accustomed to in high school and college.  Late in the 3rd quarter with Tijuana up 16-14 he recorded his first pick six which ended up sealing the game in which they won 23-14. The win moved Tijuana into first place and in control of their destiny.

Coming into the DSFL he didnt realize the hard work he would need to do in order to make an impact. He has always done whatever he needed to do to help the team win and now he feels he is contributing to the team.

This post is going to come off slightly pretentious and boast a braggadocio tone, but it's the truth for my player. To this moment, my player has not encountered an authentic, "Welcome to the League" moment, at least not on the field. Crooks helped guide Cal to their first bowl appearances in almost 18 years. Crooks finished his career in college with an upset win over the Clemson Tigers. Upon entering the DSFL, Crooks slid into the slot corner role and started racking up tackles left and right. Crooks amassed over 120 tackles his first DSFL season, proving to be a key linchpin to the Royals defense en route to a surprising Ultimini appearance against Tijuana. Unfortunately, the Royals lost 10-6, keeping the high-powered Luchadores in check most of the game.

The shocking part came when Crooks did not make the pro bowl, likely due to only having 4 turnovers to his credit, despite being instrumental to the Royals reconfigured defense. Determined to cement his name in some stature in DSFL lore, Crooks returned for his sophomore campaign, where he moved to the outside and proved his worth as a shutdown corner. Crooks finished his second season with 19 pass deflections and 4 interceptions and, as expected, made his first pro bowl.

With two playoff appearances in two seasons, Crooks felt it was time to move on and let his proteges take the helm in London. Crooks moved onto Baltimore where he moved back to the slot corner position. His first game, he finished with 8 tck, 2 PD, 1 INT, 1 FF/FR --- not a bad debut. Crooks also can say he intercepted both Wolfie McDummy and Daxter Banks this season, the two leaders for QBoTY. The one thing that still irks him is that his seemingly arch-nemesis, Kai Sakura, continues to get the best of him, whether in the DSFL or ISFL. Despite all of that, the toughest adjustment Crooks has to make is handling the roster fluidity in the ISFl. With an expansion draft looming, Crooks may find himself only spending one season with the Hawks. He might be picked in the expansion draft, and if not, he might become a highly sought free agent if he elects to go that route ---- something he has never dealt with yet to this point in his career and key career defining decision that will definitely shake up the ISFL landscape. Having that much power is scary, more than it is exhilarating.

Daria Guava-Fresca had one of the most incredible rookie seasons ever. From barely missing a kick, to winning the Ultimini, being voted as the kicker and punter for the pro bowl, and even Kicker of the Year for the 23rd season of the DSFL, it seemed like everything was a dream for her. It would be hard to imagine what might top the season, or what could possibly stop her from continuing the streak as an incredible kicker in the next season. However, as she celebrated her Ultimini win, tragedy befell her and she was murdered by her longtime friend and companion Melvin-Moose.

It seems questionable how Daria could indeed come back from a setback such as this, and as the teams and players entered the draft it seemed that there would be only one way for her to continue as an amazing kicker - to be drafted by the Wraiths. But since the only ghost team in the league did not see fit to draft her, her spiritual and ghostly bodies will not continue to live in the league. Instead, she went out on top, in a way that only Daria Guava-Fresca could have wanted. She will continue to have one of the greatest single season careers of any kicker in the DSFL. Will Murder-Moose be able to take over and fill Guava-Fresca's shoes? No one knows for certain, but he is definitely willing to try.

Coming out of Virginia, Bob Roberts was a force of nature throughout his  High School and Most of his college career, coming into the league, Roberts was brought down to earth, when he fell all the way to the third round, this was a shock to roberts system, since he expected to be one of the top safties off the board, but unfortunately Roberts fell to the 7th round. The league was not as smooth sailing for Roberts, where his team, the birddogs, and himself, where both struggling, so far losing all but 2 games, despite this, Roberts began to put a target on his own back, through his loud and abrasive personality, Roberts began pissing off members of other teams and the Head Office, Roberts was given control of the birddog twitter, where he made a crude joke about a logo of the Kansas City Coyotes, leading to a controversy in which the Head Office came down on the Wild Wild West Nature of the team twitters. However these things did not hold back Roberts, he believed in his ability to both shake up the league, on and off the field as in his own words "The League is Too Soft, and you need a man like myself to whip it back in shape"

My first game was amazing. Me and my brothers were up against the Pythons. I started off extra hot leading the team in tackles with 7. 5 of those tackles were tackles for loss. Starting off so strong put me in the lead for the league in tackles for loss. After that game I thought I was the shit. I was on pace to set some DSFL records. Right up until week 2 when I got punched in the mouth. I didn’t record a single tackle and then I haven’t had a stand out performance since. Back in college I didn’t really have many dud games. All my games I would record some stats and make some plays. I certainly haven’t had any runs of games that I didn’t do anything like this streak I’ve got going on. It has been a learning experience as the competition is a lot harder. I’m putting in the work and getting faster every week but I have a long way to go. I will say that this rough adjustment to the DSFL has me worried about what the jump to the ISFL means for me. Hopefully by the time I am there I will get out of this slump I’m in. If not, maybe I don’t even make a roster.

Reflecting on the impact of Buster ‘Boulder’ Bawlls’ career so far in the DSFL. Buster has come a long way from running through fellow kids during his wild upbringing in the heartlands of Scotland. His love of hard hitting has been evident from his first regular season game in the DSFL, were Bawlls had 2 pancakes.

It wasn’t long until Bawlls had his “welcome to the league” moment. Second game of the season, which was in fact a Portland Pythons win against London Royals. A couple of plays come into question. The first a penalty for too many players on the field, Bawlls getting caught up in the whirlwind of being able to step back on the field in back to back games, something he hasn’t been accustomed to for some time. Second giving up a sack to linebacker Busch Light for -6 yards on a blown assignment.

Bawlls has worked hard to make sure this sack is the only one he gives up for the rest of the season. Through the first seven games of the season bawls has improved greatly and is getting used to the league. He is also now involved in more than just the blocking game.

Buster Bawlls Stats so far 8 pancakes.
Rushing Stats, 8 Attempts for 35 yards. Averaging 4.4 yards per carry, with his longest run being 8 yards.
Receiving Stats, 4 receptions for 3 yards. Averaging 0.8 yards per catch, with his longest catch being 2 yards.

From Chika’s first game of having a few struggling moments but managing to pull something out of the hat to this season where she has been exposed as the worst quarterback to grace the pages of the ISFL history books, there is no better moment to point to as a “welcome to the league” moment than S22. At one point the pink haired waifu saw the limelight as the DSFL MVP in S21 but that quickly faded away when expansion entered the league for some new fish teams. Since she was supposed to be waiting in the wings for Corvo Havran, she had to enter the league early without much preparation. Chika found herself vastly unprepared for the road ahead at such a low TPE that nothing could be done to really succeed anywhere with her early entrance. She saw a quickly vanishing image of the DSFL MVP award and more dirt than any player should see. However, that moment seems to only be carrying on longer and longer as the seasons go by and not much sunlight is shining any longer on the dusty S21 MVP trophy sitting alone on the shelf. Maybe one day soon there could be a change but not much hope of a rebound yet.
