RE: (S29) PT 2 - Double Trouble? - Cincyfan96 - 06-01-2021 Sitting at 2-2 (now 3-2) through a quarter of the season, the Berlin Fire Salamanders are due for a winning streak. This team is too loaded to believe that they'll hover around .500 this season. I'm expecting 11+ wins out of them this season and another year atop the NSFC. However, I do have to say that the NSFC has shown up this season. Sarasota is balling, as expected, but Colorado and Yellowknife are both playing better than expected, and there is no longer a gimme win in this division with Philly and Baltimore shaping into much better teams and Chicago playing much better than their record indicates. I initially thought Berlin's roster was just too good to be beaten more than a time or two this season, it looks like I underestimated the power of opposing rosters in my excitement to be surrounded by the best team I've played with. I still think that as far as bounce backs are concerned, Berlin will go on a hot stretch here in the middle of the season and sit atop the NSFC by week 10. One other team due for a bounce back is the Ultimus runner ups from last season in Austin. That team is too good to hover at .200, expect them to at least be a .500 team by the end of the season. All that to say, this is the deepest and most talented that I've ever seen the ISFL be top to bottom. Expansion time, anyone? RE: (S29) PT 2 - Double Trouble? - lespoils - 06-01-2021 I can claim a whole affiliate CW as one PT right? https://simulationhockey.com/showthread.php?tid=116257&pid=3045785#pid3045785 RE: (S29) PT 2 - Double Trouble? - Muford - 06-01-2021 A team that has very much disappointed us this season In the ISFL has been none other than the Chicago Butchers. The Chicago Butchers have started the season in the hole, starting off with an abysmal record of 1-4. Some would state that it would be cursed sim luck, which has affected the Chicago Butchers since last season, but maybe we should do a deeper dive into what is going on with the team. Everything has gone hill since @TheCC stepped in as a Co-GM for @Bayley after Muford stepped down from Head GM two seasons ago. If you couldn’t tell, that’s when everything went downhill. If you look at it from the outsider point looking in, you would think that it was because the team is getting older and there are many retirements due to regression and the like. Instead, the insiders know the truth. It’s the tyrant of @TheCC and how he has been aggressively attacking people’s hopes and dreams by not crashing his bikes lately and being a good person. He’s been putting on such a good front and acting like he’s a good GM and a good person and it has actually brought the team down into the dumps. Hi fake goodness has to end. End the Tyranny in Chicago. Nine of fourteen teams are 3-2 or 2-3, and it's hard to say that any team half a game above or below .500 is a particular surprise or disappointment at this stage. But the one that stands out to me from this pack is the San Jose Sabercats. San Jose had to make some last minute roster moves to even field 11 defensive players, and their quarterback appears to be one of the people alienated by HO's decision to fire the PPT Head as he stopped posting shortly after expressing his dissatisfaction with the decision. Predicted among the bottom two in the ASFC by a large number of participants in their Season Predictions, the Sabercats would be a playoff team if the season ended today. The biggest underperformer in my opinion is another ASFC team, the Austin Copperheads. Sporting the third-highest total TPE in the league, they're 1-4 and sixth place in the conference. Austin has ten players over 1000 TPE - quarterback Jackie Daytona, his running back Zoe Watts and top target Videl-San on offence, and seven defensive players. They have over 1000 TPE at defensive end, all three linebacker spots and at three defensive back positions. Despite this, their defence is sixth in points allowed. I expect them to rebound in the remaining two-thirds of the season and to compete for a wildcard spot. (246 words) |
