They say life is made up of choices, but Marquees Acho Jr’s life has been a lot more predetermined than others. Born to 2X ISFL pro bowler Marquees Acho, who also GMed in Portland and Baltimore, Acho Jr has grown up around football since he could walk. So his “choice” to make it to the DSFL path was to just trust in his genes, and follow in his father’s path. However, genes can usually only go so far, so there is an argument to say every extra repetition, every choice to stay late at practice or choice to study at home were what led him to Kansas City.

If Acho Jr. chose to rebuke that path, he’d very likely do something out in nature, such as study plants or wildlife. Being alone out in nature is something that’s really meaningful to him. Outside of that, Jr could have also dived deeper into some of his natural musical abilities that he gets from his mom, who is not a musician but is certainly talented musically. Acho Jr can casually play guitar and piano, and during off days will usually just write and record low-fi songs in his bedroom.

At the end of the day, Acho Jr is set in his path to become a top tier tight end in this league one day.

For Marcus Jones, his dream since childhood had always been to pursue a career in professional sports, so it’s hard to attribute where he is now to any one individual decision he made during his life. It is instead more appropriate to think of it as a culmination of several smaller decisions. The decision to push out one more rep in the gym, to run that extra lap around the track, to watch the extra hour of tape before the big game and to miss that Friday night at the bar in order to be fresh for practice on Saturday morning. The alternative reality is that Marcus would not be where he is, playing the sport he loves for great money but instead would be living an average life, doing average things and probably wondering what could have been. He’s always been an intelligent person, so he might have been able to have found success in some other way or form, but he wouldn’t be where he is now and he wouldn’t have had the chance to make good on his dreams like he has. Alternate history isn’t worth thinking about for someone like him, because he’s worked so hard to avoid ever having to confront the alternative.

Blackstone has met with success at just about every professional level at this point, and his own aspiration now is to set himself up as best as he can for the Hall of Fame. However, as nice as that sounds, it does not mean that success, or even football, has not always come easily to him. Football has almost always been Blackstone's dream, but there were times in high school and even college when that dream seemed really far off. Normally this would happen in his first year in the league (freshman year in both high school and college), and in college his defensive line coach even went so far as to tell Blackstone that he might do well to consider an alternative career path--that he would never make it in the pros. At that point, Blackstone had a choice: whether to double down hard in what he believed in and pursue his desires, or take a safer route (the coach recommended he consider the "business side of sports or maybe even youth coaching"). He would like to say that he never thought twice about it and that he was steadfast from the moment he was confronted by his coach. But that's not true. He deliberated hard and then often thought and re-thought about his decision in the years to come. But as history would have it, he not only made it to the ISFL but conquered his fear of the learning curve, winning Defensive Rookie of the Year in his first season.

When Heinrich Kackpoo came out of highschool he wasn't sure on what to do next. On the one hand he didn't want to go to university and bust his ass off learning things he was not interested in. On the other hand the only real alternative was looking for a job, and he definitely didn't want to do that either.
But his parents chewed his ears off and so he went to a job interview the next day. On the way to the interview a training field crossed his path where amateur football players were training. After watching them for a while the coach came over to him and asked him if he wanted to practice with them. So instead of going to job interviews as he told his parents he went to the practices. Soon he was starting for them in the local minor league where scouts of the DSFL discovered him and offered him a spot on the pythons roster and was drafted after one season by the Honolulu Hahalua.
His parents never found out what he was doing to get there, and they never intended to find out. They knew they wouldn't like the answer. However it worked out nicely for Heinrich. If he didn't get to the ISFL he would still live with his parents "looking" for a job and pretending going to interviews.

The path to the ISFL started with a simple game of beer pong at our post-graduation party. The realization of not longer having that outlet for my competitiveness. I wasn’t looking forward to a desk job of going through spreadsheets. Not only was this not my original plan for a job out of school, but it was also the only choice I had. With a midlife crisis before even starting life, I moved to the one thing I’ve always known football. No what would have happened if I didn’t make that last minute pivot? I would likely have used my wit to get me to move to a sales position on the floor rather than the inventory manager I was lined up to be. With that same wit I am able to makes sales that others aren’t able to close. While I may have ended up a master of closing in on QBs, I am even more capable of closing deals. Starting with used car parts I would have jump to the top line car dealership in town, to a highly reputable manufacturing company that does international sales. So all in all, I chose to give up my body now for the quick gains, and I know my fame in the ISFL will only help with my potential sales job down the line.

There's a saying that goes, "We just don't recognize life's most significant moments while they're happening." For Doy Fieri, one of those significant moments was when his high school football coach walked into his family's diner, Slatt's Soul Food, in South Minneapolis. Little did Doy (then Vance Slattery) know that serving the unfamiliar face a plate of chicken fried steak with a side of mac n' cheese would lead him down a path of becoming a professional football player.

If we rewound the clock and went back to that moment and made it so that Doy was not convinced to join the football team, it's pretty obvious where his life would be: he would be living out his childhood dream of running his family's restaurant. He would have gone to culinary school and then attempted to stage at a respected kitchen to hone his craft, and then taken his skills back home to Minneapolis, Minnesota, to help carry Slatt's Soul Food into the future. When dreaming of those moments, Doy also likes to imagine that he would eventually become an award-winning chef, taking home James Beard Awards, and bringing a Michelin star to South Minneapolis.

The path for Doy may have diverged long ago, but even to this day he still holds these dreams.

Mark was born as a joint citizen between the US and the UK. He spent much of his time early life in the US watching an growing up with the ISFL. However, he moved to England after the death of his mother. At school he played a lot of sport, mainly cricket & rugby. The main decision that led Mark to the ISLF was his decision to study engineering at SMU in Texas.
In an alternate reality, his decision to study further education could very well have seen him join any university in the UK. Here at University, American football is not well tutored or at all offered. So Mark carried on his illustrious cricket career eventually making his 1st class debut at the age of 19 for Durham.
He graduated from college with a Meng degree in Mechanical Engineering. He was then faced with a tough choice, pursue his potential sporting career in Cricket or start working up the ladder in the engineering world. In the end the choice was a simple one and he choose cricket.
In the end this turned out to be a wise decision, he ended up opening the batting for England in Test & ODI. He scored a tad under 15,000 international runs. He was able to start a small family and live very happily until the end of his days.

Dustin Parmelee is happy that it is not talked about very much. He knew he wanted to be a QB a long time ago. When he was still knee high to a grass hopper and throwing the pigskin around is all he ever wanted to do. There was a decision he had to make after high school. What college would he attend? That was an easy answer for DP as he had always wanted to play for the Buckeyes of Ohio State when growing up. He got the chance to play for his dream school. He started his freshman and sophomore seasons at The Ohio State University. Then his junior year came an injury that side lined him for most of his junior season. Then while in the end of his junior year, still rehabbing but almost back to form Parm became addicted to prescription pills and when we was drug tested by the NCAA they discovered he was still taking the pills, when he was only prescribed a months’ worth of pain pills. He would go crazy and accuse people of things if he wasn’t able to get high. This caused the Ohio State Buckeyes AD to relief Dustin of his scholarship, with the big game still left on the schedule. No more college, no more college football. He could transfer, but risk becoming ineligible for an entire year. He decided to go ahead and pursue an opportunity in the ISFL as playing football is his passion, and without playing the game due to injury he became somebody he didn’t like. He was lost without football. Thankfully Tijuana and London gave him opportunities in the DSFL, with Yellowknife waiting in the wings in ISFL.

Saleem Spence made several choices and had several choices made for him that led to his career choice as a Wide Receiver. Initially, Spence lived in South Africa, and thus grew up loving soccer instead of football. However, his family moved to Compton when he was a child, and he was informed in Compton that soccer was for wimps. Thus, Spence started on a different path, enrolling in a Compton Pop Warner league and becoming the skilled Wide Receiver Sarasota fans know and love today.

Had Spence not moved to North America and stayed in South Africa, it is very likely Spence would've gone on to become a professional soccer star. Spence had the natural athleticism, the raw talent, and the professional mindset to at least be an icon of the African leagues, if not a mover and shaker in Europe.

Another decision that affected Spence's career was his decision to step away from the University of Manitoba football program towards the end of Season 26. This led to Spence getting more development time than he would've sticking with his university team through the remainder of their season under an awful, since-fired coach. Had Spence not gotten that extra spurt of development, he may not have developed into one of the best young wideouts in the game today.

There are many choices to be made in life and as a robot I have superior free will than that of simple human free will. You see I'm actually programmed to bend girders. But I said screw that, I'm going to bend human on the football field instead. Ot truly takes superior mental capabilities to override your programming and make your own decisions l. All that to say that I am better than you meat bags. Bite my glorious golden ass if you have a problem with that. Now that's out of the way I can tell you why I started playing football. I was perusing the electronics department of a store, looking for a nice TV to steal. One of the TVs had a football game on and I saw a weak little human smash another one. Bent him right in half. The announcer went on and on about how great this player was and how much he was getting paid. I figured I could bend all 11 humans straight in one go. And now look at me. I'm the greatest linebacker to ever grace the field. If I didn't decide to play football, I'd probably still be at the factory bending things. Not because I would have to. But because I would choose to. I just enjoy bending things. Or maybe I'd work for a delivery service I don't know.
