Written option: The season is at it's half way point. Your player has hopefully been performing up to your standards, but the sim gods are not always as nice as you want them to be and there is always things to improve on. Talk about one aspect of your player's game that you want to be improved upon by the end of the season, and how you plan on improving upon that certain aspect.

Well after a really good season where Mark Walker finished as a top tier receiver he has apparently fallen back down to earth. So far, he has an ok number of touchdowns sitting at five, tied for the most receiving touchdowns with inactive Eddie Jeeta. And to be honest Walker has had a couple of games with over one hundred yards receiving, he just hasn't continued the success he was rather enjoying from last season. Walker, as of the last game, is a top twenty receiver in yardage and is doing fine in touchdowns.

Really he just needs to work on getting open and once he gets the ball in his hands making something happen. Catching the ball is highly important, but if it is for three or four yards each time, it just is not enough to keep the offense rolling down the field. So, back to the practice field and try to get those routes a little cleaner, really work on the release to get that extra little bit for Colby Jack to hit him in stride. Of course there is only so much you can do when you share the field with a top tier wide receiver and a top tier tight end ahead of you on the depth chart. Walker's main thing is he wants to win. Regardless of personal accolades, if the team is winning, then whatever stats he gets are good enough.

So far this season has been a mixed bag for me with my stats and has been pretty mixed in my emotions about how I think the season is going for sure. At this point in the season I am sitting at 35 catches for 391 yards and 4 touchdowns through 8 games played. I have been pretty happy with my touchdown production as I have already doubled my total amount of touchdowns from last season in only half the games. Though I do wish I had a little more as I had 4 touchdowns through the first 4 games played and have done nothing the last 4 games in terms of scoring. The area I want to improve upon though is my yards. I feel like I am not getting many yards and I had a lot more playing out of the slot last season. I need to definitely focus on my speed and hands as well as my route running and forming a nice chemistry with our rookie quarterback as he continues to get better each season. I think those things mostly will help me to grow into the WR2 I need to be for this team. Maybe even WR1 some day if Luke Quick fell off a cliff and broke a leg or something. Let's be real I'm not catching him.

This season so far for my player has been honestly really good. As OL, the main stat I need is Pancakes, and I think I'm doing really well in that department, especially as a RT. I'm looking forward to the season where Adam Mellott and I are max capped and dominating the LOS. If I had to improve one area however, it'd have to be the penalties I'm committing. I think so far it's been 3 or 4 this season, and while that's fine and all, the perfectionist in me will not tolerate that kind of thing. It hurts the team on long sustaining drives or to even start one up, and then our team is not in a position to succeed because of it. I know once I become a "Role Model", I will be able to reduce those penalties or negative plays that affects the team negatively. I believe if I was LT as well, I would be getting way more pancakes, but I'm happy with where I'm at right now, and I believe I'm one of the highest pancake leaders as a RT, so that should be an accomplishment in itself. We shall see how the rest of the season goes, but I'm looking forward to the point where I will be a "perfect" player for the team!

Blackstone's focus has been the all time tackles for a loss category since before he entered the league. He started out super hot and his tackles for a loss propelled him to winning several awards and recognitions at the beginning of his career. Of course, now as his career as nearing its end, he hopes that these accolades will be enough to make his resume stand out to the hall of fame committee. However, there is still more work to be done, and for that he returns to the tackles for a loss stat. Currently, he is ranked #3 all time in tackles for a loss with 109 (110 technically because of the one he has so far this season). To reach the #2 spot he needs to pass Jayce Tuck who has 113. This might end up being a close race because, since the rebalancing of the sim a few seasons back and because he is now regressing, Blackstone has not been the tackles for a loss machine that he once was. Instead, he has been averaging 1-2 tackles for a loss per season. So, he may need another 2-3 seasons to reach this goal which aligns with the latest he is able to play. Hopefully he is able to achieve this, along with one more Ultimus win, and that will be enough to make it into the Hall of Fame.

I must say I am happy with almost every aspect of my game midway through the season. However, I would like to see more touches in the red zone. I only have 2 touchdowns on the season, after having a combined 13 the prior two seasons. I am in position for scores very often, but the sim doesn't look my way too much in the end zone. In addition, I already have 4 drops this campaign through 8 games. To put that in perspective, I had a total of 4 drops for the last three seasons combined (48 games). I really hope the sim lords can give me a boost in the second half. I have worked very hard to be a great player, but I don't always have good luck. I have had a long, excellent career, and I want to finish it up strong with a solid final two seasons. This is not quite the beginning of the end, it is more truly the middle of it. I hope that I can have a few more bright spots in San Jose before I call it a career. I always thought I could do it alone, but have found that the sim doesn't always like me. Reminds me of real life.

RE: (S30) PT 3 - Short-Term Goals - Crunk - 08-04-2021

Tayshawn Crunk used to play free safety before transitioning to cornerback. He likes interceptions. After Week 7 of the ISFL season, he did not have any interceptions. He decided that he needed to take his training to the next level. Crunk is not a coach, however, so didn't really know what drills would help him, so he turned to the most trusted source of information in his life: movies.

First, he watched the Karate Kid. What better way to improve his hand eye co-ordination than to catch a fly with chopsticks? Well, that was the theory. As it turns out, that challenge is as impossible as it seems. Also, it will get you kicked out of the second cheapest Chinese buffet in the city.

Disappointed and full of monosodium glutamate, Crunk went home and watched Rocky. Halfway through, he remembered that Rocky II was the one with the iconic training scenes so he watched that afterwards. After a misunderstanding at his local Walmart involving a frozen chicken (that wouldn't take too much chasing) he did the only thing he could think of, and booked tickets to Philadelphia.

Planning his route while on the flight, Crunk proceeded to run the entire length of Rocky's famous training run, each scene in order. He had not realised that it would be almost 31 miles. There were no children to celebrate with him as he collapsed on the steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art.

Pizzaman had a very slow start to the season, most likely due to his sophomore slump as they call it. He already has a slot on the Orange County Otters next season, he just needs to not get injured which should be easy enough. But he is turning things around after his disappointing first two games. His last game against DSFL powerhouse he wrapped up 6 tackles, his season high and has been really beginning to disrupt the quarterback. Ultimately Pizzaman needs to work on getting into the backfield, by the end of the season the goal he has is to tally 3+ TFL and at least two more sacks. I think this is very doable considering pizzaman had some really focused offseason work on his tackling as well as getting the perfect jump at the snap, just enough to avoid the offsides penalty. This is due to his work with Olympic track star Romeo Harris who played college ball at Papa Johns U with pizzaman and really was a motivating factor in him joining the DSFL. These goals are a bit high but reaching for the stars you can do a lot of damage on the way up as well as the way down, so even if he gets 1 more sack and another TFL I consider that a great feat.

Cedric Wilkins II has had a slow start with the London Royals, largely due to the matter of playing second fiddle to second year cornerback Savior Hawkins and lead returner Bradley Welch. Of course, displacing two seasoned veterans was not something Wilkins was expecting to do from the start, but he has been disappointed with the impact he has made with his opportunities to date. While Wilkins has shown himself capable of making clean tackles, he has failed to prove that he can make a meaningful difference defending the pass, with only four passes defended this season, just one more pass defense than Hawkins has interceptions. So, reading the receiver has become a focal point for Wilkins' training, as he works to become the playmaker he feels he should be. Similarly, Wilkins is always thinking about how he can make a difference with his opportunities carrying the football, so he is spending a great deal of time improving both his speed and agility; how a player moves with the ball can be key to their success, and Wilkins is well aware of that given his career at the University of Alabama, so continuing to make that level of impact as he moves towards the International Simulation Football League is key.

Quote:What are your short term goals?
It really shouldn’t be a surprise when I talk about what my short term goals are as a member of the ISFl. I think it is pretty much a 3 prong answer that I fee a lot of some league members can identify with. My main goal for the short term is to make sure I stay consistent with my weekly tasks and to jump off that one to remember to do things that earn money constantly. My second prong is to challenge myself by doing cool new things when on my quest to earn money. I use to push the limits way more often but I find I usually take the easy route as I’m crunched for time. Which leads me to my 3rd and final prong, I am hoping to finally be able to learn more about the people In this league and get to interact more directly. I feel like I’ve been busy in my real life and subsequently this has lead to me having very little time to deep dive into the isfl. I really look forward to getting to know you al a bit better and it’s something I’m very much looking forward to doing in the near future!

RE: (S30) PT 3 - Short-Term Goals - Muford - 08-04-2021

While you look at the DSFL, you realize that players are capped at 250 TPE, and there isn’t much to improve on during your stay down there. Well, you can’t really improve on your attributes, attempting to get better and better every week and you must leave that to the hands of the DSFL Sim Gods. What I can improve upon though, is more then what you see on the field, and it would be my attentiveness to the locker room of the Minnesota Grey Ducks. I haven’t been as active as I would have liked to have been in there this season, and that is all on me. I’ve had a lot of other things come up this season, and while I am still max earning albeit not being able to spend, I haven’t spent as much time with such a great community like I did last year. From here on out, I need to vow to spend more time with my teammates in Minnesota and continue to strive and build a dynasty. Even though this might be my last season down in the DSFL with Vincent Sharpei Jr., I want to make it a memorable one for me and my teammates in Minnesota as we look to continue our dominance of the DSFL.
