(S4) - Weekend PT #1 - Off Season Program - Roly - 10-29-2017

Darren Morris takes his off-season program very seriously. Throughout his college career with the Oklahoma Sooners, Morris always took the off-season regimen very seriously. As a top-notch athlete, he spends the vast majority of his off-season doing similar workouts to his peers in the NSFL and DSFL. He attends a personal trainer up north in Canada, a trainer near Vancouver, British Colombia. This past off-season, while waiting in the lead up to the draft, Morris spent a lot of his time focusing on his footwork and agility with his feet. It was something he saw as important; especially after seeing some of the college video of wide receivers who were going into his draft as well. Conditioning up and down footpaths in the Rockies were an almost daily chore.

This off-season, Morris decided to do some things a little differently and focus on pilates and strengthening his core. The experimental new techniques were approved by his personal trainer, and in combination with a new diet, allowed Morris to add a lot of muscle mass in his midsection. The mix between the new focus and the focus on foot agility and speed gives Morris an exciting new window to launch through in his player development.

Wolverine Justice, the man, the myth, the legend has spent his before the draft finishing up his paper work to end his prison sentence. Going through several undisclosed hoops, Justice had spent countless hours working out in "the yard" a reference to the only time prisoners get to spend outside the confines of their cells, in preparation to be in shape for his first professional training camp. He also received visits from two scouts, who spent the time to come down to the prison to speak with him in person and understand his mindset coming into the league and what has changed about him as well as what he hopes to achieve. Clearly that combination was enough to have the Norfolk Seawolves believe in him so strongly that they took him first overall. Following the draft and the expedited prison sentence, Justice has been meeting with his parole officer as well as spending time with fellow drafted individual Kenny Omega and Jett Winters, trying to connect with each other in order to develop the chemistry that a winning team requires. The activites have ranged from tubing in the white water rapids, camping and even opening up a joint charity together for victims of sexual abuse.

This offseason proved to be a tricky one for the Wraiths and Mat Akselsen in that they didn't have much success in FA luring big-time free agents. Philippe Carter, Wyatt Fulton, Jaylon Lee, Mayran Jackson, among others all went elsewhere. With star QB Chris Orosz returning to the team, Wraiths management decided to cut losses and trade the QB away for a bevy of picks. Along with this temporary rebuild mindset came the trade of Kevin Cushing. Some say the heart and soul of the team, Cushing at the very least was the epitome of antagonistic cockiness.

Who then would manage the quarterback position for season 4? Well, management saw Akseslsen's peewee highlight reel and really liked what he was showing. They decided to go for it. Akselsen slimmed down more than 100 pounds and we think a lot of that weight collected in his feet because he has also measured in an inch shorter. Akselsen worked on his accuracy and arm during the day, ran sprints at night and fell asleep with the playbook in his arms. Akselsen was going balls deep into this. I mean, how often does a peewee football star from a small town in Minnesota get a chance to quarterback the best simulation football team north of the 114th parallel. It seems to be going well, Akselsen has the speed, the arm talent, the brains to make sure the Wraiths aren't completely embarrassed this year.

"Well, management saw Akseslsen's peewee highlight reel and really liked what he was showing."

Akselsen is a gifted man.

This offseason has been a little different for Trey Willie. After have an amazing rookie season, a monster performance in the NSFC championship game, and being named the S3 Rookie of the Year, Trey’s life has been rocky. He was in and out of court for several child support suits. So far, none of these children have been confirmed to be fathered by Trey. Speaking of court, after several run-ins with local law officers, Trey has avoided any major jail time but was sentenced to community service which he spent the offseason performing. Participating in several youth programs, Trey has been busy mentoring these young children to prevent from veering down the same destructive path that he has traveled. With the offseason coming to a close, Trey can finally return to a sense of normalcy.

Recent reports confirm that he has returned to Baltimore this past week. With the addition of a new quarterback, running back, and team GM, Trey is going to need some time getting familiar with this new offense. Trey is hoping this change at quarter back will catapult him into the top of the NSFL. Spending a lot of time working one on one with Avon Blocksdale and the offensive coordinator has everyone excited for this upcoming season.

This off-season has been one that Dustin Evans will never forget. He has been preparing his body for the coming season in a plethora of ways, but most notably he has taken to new, relatively untested methods.

Evans spent his summer in Florida where there are frequent rain storms. Finding nothing wrong with the idea, likely because he only has a 52 rated intelligence, Dustin tied a large metal beam to his back and attempted to outrun the lighting bolts cascading down from the sky. He was electrocuted several times, miraculously survived due to injuries being turned off, and was not rushed to the hospital.

Evans, looking to further increase his speed related measurables, tied a sturdy rope around his waist, attached the other end to the back of a stranger's car at a stop light, and attempted to use the speed of the car to motivate him into sprinting a full 55 miles per hour through a busy intersection. Again, Dustin was not injured, was not rushed to a nearby hospital to tend to what should have been fatal injuries, and is currently preparing his next method of speed related training. Season four looks like it's shaping up to be a climactic adrenaline rush full of healthy, forever unscathed athletes.
