Andre goes all out for Christmas. It is his favorite holiday and he makes sure he celebrates it in everyway he can. Starting on December first, he sets up his Advent calendar with a workout for each day leading up to Christmas as well as a different beef jerkey to eat each day. The types of meat varied a lot each day, ranging from venison, beef, pork, and chicken to ostrich, elk, caribou, raindeer, kangaroo, and alligator. On the 12th, Andre celebrated the first day of hannukkah with his fiance's family. On the 24th, he celebrated with his dad's side of the family for an extravagant brunch, which included 3 different types of lobsters, swedish pancakes, Belgian waffles, 2 turduckens, and a fondue station. Gift exchange happened in the afternoon and a bar was rented out in the evening. Morning of Christmas was just Andre and his Fiance Maria opening each other's gifts and having a nice simple breakfast. In the afternoon, they met with Andres mother's side and did a gift exchange and a home cooked dinner. On the 26th they started the celebration of Kwanza and met with Maria's other side of the family. When the team got together on the 27th, Andre surprised each of the defensive players with maxed out golf carts and snowboards. Andre expects a big celebration for the New year's.

Christmas is a great time of year in New Orleans. Eric Kennedy always enjoyed catching up and spending time with family, sharing gifts, and taking in the festive aura of the season. Traditional Christmas cooking combined with a cajun flair was always special. And, of course, who can forget the sounds of Christmas? As someone who’s never worked retail before, Kennedy was still a fan of Christmas music, including both nationally known classic and the local New Orleans favorites, such as the “12 Yats of Christmas”. It was a great time for everyone.

Only Kennedy isn’t New Orleans these days. Not in December. He’s in Yellowknife, Canada. And he loves it for 9-10 months out of the year, but December is not one of those months. Because it’s @#$%ing freezing outside! Do you want to look up the temperature today? It’s negative -22!!! The only sensible way for Canadians to celebrate Christmas is to hibernate. So, Kennedy doesn’t do anything for Christmas. Not in person, at least. He still interacts with family and friends online. He mails gifts out for other to enjoy. He’s even got the 12 Yats on his ipod, but all of those things occur in-doors. Because -22 degrees. @#$% you, Canada. @#$% you.

Christmas for Antonio Sandoval this year was a happy time. He was able to spend time with his brother, Ricardo, as they are now both in Colorado as members of the Yeti. After years of being separated, either in Orange County, with Ricardo's time as an Otter, or in Baltimore, with Ricardo's time as a Hawk, it was nice for them to finally be able to spend the holidays together. However, they did kind of beat the shit out of each other. What do you expect? Ricardo Sandoval has been a Defensive Tackle his whole life, and Antonio Sandoval has been an Offensive Lineman his whole life, and is now a Defensive End. This two big boys spent their Holidays smashing their heads into each other, just like the good old days. The rules are simple. Do not stop until one of the competitors are dead or temporarily paralyzed. This years victor was Antonio, a shocking upset. Ricardo was hit with the full strength of one of Antonio's hits, causing him to lose feeling all over his body. They both just laughed it off and had Ricardo air lifted to the Emergency Room. Nothing represents the Holiday Spirit quite like that.

King Bronko always has a live ass holiday season, you know that for sure.

Fun fact, Bronko is actually Jewish, so he does celebrate Hanukkah. Thing is though, he doesn't know shit about the holiday. All he knows is that you light some candels on a menorah, spin a dreidal, and that grandma will beat your ass if she catches you cursing when she is over at the house.

After that, on Christmas, Bronko goes over to the mall to give presents to all the good kids that are in need. Bronko be rolling in the dough, so he can afford to drop a hundred k on new gifts like Kyrie 4s and xBox Ones to give to people less fortunate than him. He always loves the smiles on the kids faces when he rolls up on their block in the whip and drops off the sweet presents.

Then comes Bronko's favorite holiday, New Years! He loves it more than any other. Why? Because all you gotta do is drink a lot, get lit, and smash women. besides football, those are Bronko's three favorite things to do. He rents out a big penthouse hotel room in NYC, hits up the liquor store, then invites all 162 of his close friends to have a rager.

Egan Winter, 207 words:

I spent the holidays celebrating my new success with my family, but I also wanted to work on my game too. One of the most exciting things about my role with the Portland Pythons is the chance I have to make an impact on special teams as a punt returner. I've already got one TD in the pre-season, and now I am hungry for more. My bread is buttered by my work in the secondary in pass protection. I know that. Of course. But if I can come out there every week and make that extra impact running back punts and maybe even putting points on the board? Hell yeah. I'll take that.

So I've been doing lots of cardio, running sprints, making cuts, all that. And I'm in the film room, obviously, studying coverages and studying the wide receivers I know I will be facing once the season get rolling. I'm also working with the coaching staff to improve my tackling. I know that I need to make sure that when I get someone wrapped up, they don't ever get away from me. That's what separates good from great in this league. So I'm turning my arms into a set of vice grips, mark my words.

The very convenient thing about Dean Jackson’s new team is it’s located in a city he’s very used to; his family has lived in Phoenix ever since he was born. This allowed him to be home with his family for the Christmas season (unlike Thanksgiving when Jackson was in Tijuana), and also attend the Arizona Outlaws holiday party.

When Jackson rolled up to the host’s mansion in the brand “new” car he’d bought (a lightly used 2016 Subaru Impreza), he was a bit late. He hurried his way up the long driveway and opened the door... Dean’s first sight was Charlie Law standing on a table, mid speech: “I love all of you...” His words slurred together from what must’ve been a little too much drinking. “...to varying degrees.” With that, Charlie half climbed, half fell off the table, taking the cloth and a few plates with him (which Budda Browning managed to catch - he’s paid for his hands for a reason). It was only then that Jackson noticed Edith the PR lady collapsed on the sofa. After a moments hesitation, he stepped in and closed the door behind him. Thankfully, it looked like most others hadn’t been quite as eager with their alcohol. It would be a fun night with his teammates.

For thoe who did not know, newly minted Sabercats Runningback Darren Smallwood is Jewish. Crazy as it sounds, his holidays, specifically around christmas time are actually quite traditional among Jews. This tradition is, of course, Jewish Christmas. In Jewish Christmas, members who do not observe Christmas go out and enjoy a nice movie and Chinese food. It is a great tradition and Smallwood got to really enjoy it this year. Although only in select theatres the Beloit College graduate was able to get tickets to go see The Post. This film starred Meryl Streep and Tom Hanks and was about the rise of the Washington Post and the Pentagon papers that were stolen and released. It was a fascinating film and while the performances were great there were definetly some political undertones that felt very resonant in today’s America. As for the Chinese food, Smallwood met up with his family and they all split thing, from vegetable dumplings to mango shrimp. Most of his family is a fool for peking duck. No lie, if done right it’s pretty great and if done wrong it is pretty horrible. It was pretty great. Although the biggest issue with peking duck is always that it feels like there isn’t enough.

Owen Taylor has a deal with his wife. His wife is from Atlanta, Taylor is not, so they rotate where they celebrate Christmas (on Christmas day) each year so that neither family feels left out. His wife’s family is great. They welcomed him with open arms and immediately made him feel like family, but I’ll be damned if he doesn’t hate traveling for Christmas. It’s always been his favorite time of the year, and currently residing in Baltimore, the possibility of a white Christmas is just too much to pass on; you’ll never have that opportunity in Atlanta! And don’t even bring up the sleeping arrangements. Being a grown ass man and sleeping on a twin sized air mattress with another human being is absolutely as terrible as it sounds. Not to mention the daily wake-up calls at 6 AM. It’s a vacation damnit, at least let the guy sleep past 7.

This year, though, is special. After welcoming his first child into the world this year, he’ll be making the trip not as a couple, not as husband and wife, but as a family. There are few things in this world Taylor wouldn’t do to make that tiny human happy, and although it will never remember this trip, just the slight possibility of making it’s world just a tiny bit happier is more than enough to hop on the plane and have the best damn Christmas ever.
