(S5) - Weekend PT #3 - New Year's Resolution - ralams123 - 01-07-2018

Jonathan Kings resolution for 2018 is to be a big factor for the otters defense in this current season as the Otters seek out another Ultimus win. With a deep depth at cornerback Jonathan must pick up his slack as he is slowly dipping deeper and deeper into the depth chart. Knowing his playtime is smaller Jonathan has vowed to never miss a PT task or a pick em to make sure he stays in his much deserved spot on the Otters. Jonathan's second resolution is too be more active with his teammates in the locker room to form a close much needed bond between him and the others. Jon said he slowly felt himself slipping away from his teammates in his time in the DSFL last season and wants to recover that lost feeling he had between his teammates. Hopefully these goals help Jonathan not only be a better player but a better teammate as well.

Jonathan Saint has been waiting. He's been waiting for 3 years. 1095 days to this day to be exact. He's touched the ball 26 times since then. Since season 1, Jonathon has not had an interception. So his new year's resolution, no his mission this season is to get an interception. I FUCKING DID IT! Within the 1st month of of 2018 I completed my new year's resolution. Correction I fucking shattered it. 2 interceptions against the unastericked greatest player of all time. So I guess I have to choose a new year's resolution. And extremely hard one to accomplish. You know what, I got it. By the end of the season I want to win the best linebacker award for the 2nd time in my career. I have some stiff competition and rocky start to fight this year. But if it was easy to do then it wouldn't be a good resolution, would it?

Sincerely,

Saint

Michael Tillman wanted to start off the year right by choosing a New Year's Resolution. He typically isn't a believer in them as they end practically right after the start, but he really believed he could make this one last. Michael Tillman has always wanted to be a high profile athlete for all his life for the sport of his dreams and this New Years he will start his journey in becoming the greatest of all time. He's loved this sport since he was just a little boy as his dad always stated how good he was back in the day. He loved the speed of it, the high profile characters that were the athletes and the drama that came in those championships. This is why every day, Michael Tillman has dedicated at least 2 hours of his life to becoming the greatest in his craft... golf. Crazy? I know but he sure loves him some birdies

Owen Taylor has always been a great athlete. For as long as he can remember, he’s always excelled at whatever sport he decided to play that day. However, he’s never been what you would call, “intelligent.” Sure, the guy can study and learn playbooks, he can read incoming blitzes and in-depth defensive schemes, he can even fake his way through a mildly intelligent sounding conversation. Put this guy in front of a TV for Jeopardy though? It’s embarrassing. So for his New Year’s resolution, Owen Taylor’s goal is to become smarter. Now I know what you’re thinking, “Is that even something you can do?” Well, kind of. Obviously, everyone is born with a different level of intelligence, but it can be improved (to a degree.) So for the next 12 months, say good bye to the TV and mindless video games, books and puzzle based video games are Taylor’s new best friends.

My new years resolution is to just stay as disciplined and dedicated as I have been the past year. I want to continue to be the best damn player to come out of the S3 draft. In addition to keeping my self proclaimed S3 title, I want to become the best WR as well. I have climbed my way up the ranking and while I am not the true #1 yet, I can see me overtaking these other receivers in the near future.

My other new years resolution will be to play gridiron football at some point in my career. This means simultaneously becoming a playmaker on both the offensive and defensive side of the ball. While this is not something that any player has strives to become, I think I can break through the barriers and emerge victorious on the other side. This should be an easy resolution to achieve since I am already so amazing at everything else I do.

Even though the New Year is upon us, the goals remain basically the same for Mike Boss. There is one major goal: Win the Ultimus. The second major goal: do not throw as many interceptions. Unfortunately for Mike Boss and the Otters, goal number two is not off to the best start in the New Year. Boss finds himself throwing as many interceptions as he did during the disastrous S1 campaign. This is surprising, considering he has come off of back-to-back MVP seasons. Boss will most likely right the ship, but his resolutions are falling flat.

“I usually do not buy into New Year’s resolutions. I set out every day to be better than I was the day before. It does not really impact me one way or another what the day on the calendar says. It might help some people, but when you have been the best for as long as I have, all of these years sort of add up. I feel like I have been playing for 5 years now.” Said Boss.

My New year's resolution is definitely to eat much better. Don't get me wrong, I'll still eat a lot but I've just got to be more careful about what it is that I'm putting into my body. When I was an offensive lineman I could get away with eating whatever I wanted. You just have to be big is what they would say. But now that I'm a linebacker I have to have a workout and diet for a completely different physique. I have to be strong but also fast and agile and to do that as well as I possibly can means I have to optimize my diet. It's been extremely difficult to break my bad habits but with some willpower and stern lectures from my wife I know I can overcome the temptation. This decision will not only help me on the field but will also help me to have a healthier life after I leave the game for good.

Each year I take one word and set that as my New Year's resolution. 2 years ago it was Simplicity. I focused on not making things overly complicated when it wasn't necessary and started enjoying the minor things in life. It helped me to understand that purchasing a yacht is the only way to make someone happy. Last year I followed the word Consistency. I worked on setting a tone for myself with practice, games, and my personal life. doing things spontaneously may sometimes be fun, but when others are expecting something of you, it is nice for them to easily predict what you will do, allowing them to work with you in a better way. This year I am taking the word Efficiency. I have always used the word efficiency to describe myself, but this year I will focus on it much more. making sure that every move I make isnt using up unnecessary resources, whether that is my time, my money, or other things. The more efficient the world runs, the more we are able to do as the human race to better ourselves in every way, I am just doing my part of making that all possible.

New year, new Bailey Cook.

Well, not so much new, really, just more so revitalized. It's true, I hadn't updated in a while, since early November to be more clear, but it's time for all of that to change. Bailey Cook is back on the update grind.

Today I claimed about 60 TPE from a bunch of things I had completed but never claimed. I realized that if I'm going to complete these tasks I may as well claim them, so my training is not all for naught.

It is time for Bailey Cook to amp up his game even more. He is coming back much stronger than he was after hitting the weight room rather frequently this offseason. Hopefully this will lead to him dragging some defenders with him and result in more yardage and touchdowns. There weren't too many other areas in which he could improve, so it was imperative that he worked on strength

With his new dedication in the weight room, combined with his refound willingness to improve and train, he is back and better than ever. Once renowned as the player with the best work ethic in the league, Cook will look to get back to his old ways and continue to set records.

Happy New Year!!
