(S5) - Weekend PT #5 - Reflections - Goretron - 01-28-2018

This was all in all a great season for Borro Gore. However this success, at least in my eyes, was in huge part due to the excellent team that Gore found himself on, with tremendous mentorship.

Coming in as a wide eyed rookie, Borro had nothing to go on, just instinct. He had strength, but that's about it. He didn't know the right way to go about working out, training, and building his skill set. Signing with the Portland Pythons made his season, and perhaps helped shape his future for the better.

The first major benefit is being on an elite team. The Portland Pythons finished the DSFL season with the best record, creating a tremendous amount of visibility for Borro. He's already been in contact with numerous NSFL who have inquired about his services.

The second major benefit was mentorship and a system built to help him succeed. Borro Gore was given plenty of tips and pointers from his new coaching staff and front office, and they have helped shaped him into a good player today with a foundation to be a great player in the NSFL.

Signing with the Pythons was truly a blessing for Borro.

In retrospect, a deal that changed the landscape of the season for Baltimore would be when Ricardo Sandoval decided to pursue the Las Vegas GM opportunity. This caused the Hawks to lose an active defensive player as well as one half of their defensive line. This set off a series of moves that when the dust settled, left the team in Baltimore in an unfamiliar situation. The trade that sent Ricardo Sandoval to the desert brought back Alexandre LeClair in return. He was in the final year of his deal so it was up to the GMs of Baltimore to show him his true worth and ink a long term deal. During the season, the Hawks’ offense had a surge and pushed them to new heights. While their defense was left reeling, the high power offense was a shimmer of excellence and was just enough to convince LeClair that Baltimore was his new home. (154)

The turning point for the Kansas City Coyotes wasn’t necessarily a great win or a heroic individual play (Not surprising given that the Coyotes only managed to come out the better three times in their first 12 games) , in fact it was anything but. The red hot Palm Beach Solar Bears welcomed the Coyotes to South Florida and proceeded to thrash them by a score of 47-14 in week 7. While this seemed to put the cap on a less than excellent season for Kansas City and their draft class it also opened up the opportunity for new blood to enter the management group in the form of new Co-GM Vlad Rostov several weeks later. This change in management combined with the valiant efforts of remaining KCC GM 124715 helped the Coyotes kick their rebuild into gear a few games earlier than expected, winning their first road game of the year in week 13 and generally playing a much more respectable brand of football towards the end of the season.

Written: Must Include 150 Words. The season is coming to a close and as such it's time to do some reflecting on the season. Simply write about a season making, or breaking, event that your player/team had experienced.

The season breaking game for the Liberty has to be when they lost to the Hawks in Baltimore 24-20. After taking game 1 of the series, the Liberty were looking to sweep the Hawks and put some distance between the two teams, however in the 4th quarter the Liberty allowed the Hawks to complete the comeback and win the game. Having been unable to score and stop the Hawks in their 4th quarter winning drive, the Liberty were now looking at a key tiebreaker lost should the they tie at the end of the season. Had they won this game a tie would have never been an issue, as the Hawks would have been 1 game behind the Liberty at the end of the season. By having this crucial loss, the Liberty were put in a spot where they needed to get 1 more win than the Hawks, as the Liberty were 5-5 after this game, and the Hawks were 6-4. The Liberty couldn’t rely on a tie either, as the Hawks were 3-2 in the conference at the time, while the liberty were 2-3. They needed the Yeti to upset the Hawks, and that wasn’t likely to happen 2 seasons in a row. They were in a bad situation, and that game turned the tide from their favor to the Hawks favor.
