Heading into the S2 draft Avon Blocksdale was a completely unknown quantity as an offensive line man. There were more highly touted prospects. You had MULTIple top level picks like Tim Pest and Brokk Lee as well as other dudes. But in all seriousness as an unknown offensive lineman I wasn't sure exactly where I was gonna go. I had a few teams express interest in me, but the team that actually seemed most interested in me was the Arizona Outlaws. I had had discussions with ER and he told me that they were trying to trade up to the middle of the fourth round to pick me up. I didn't know much about the league but I knew they were the defending champions and I was really excited to go anywhere.

As the fourth round was happening I noticed that the Baltimore Hawks had 3 4th round picks in a row. The first pick they used to select an offensive lineman Dieter Koch. The second one they used on another offensive lineman Alonzo Charles. And then there was the third pick they had. Surely they couldn't pick three Offensive Lineman in a row? Well........... they did. And picked Avon Blocksdale. I'm not sure where the Hawks would be without Avon as the offensive line of the Hawks in S2 and 3 was actually a strength. But needless to say the Hawks didn't expect to pick their QB of the future when they chose me in the middle of round 4 .

Season five draft night. San Antonio corner back Gregory Fletcher sits at the round table with his mother, Dorothy Fletcher. Next to her is an empty seat and a picture frame on the desk in front of the seat. In the picture frame is a photograph of a man in posing with Dorothy and an infant Gregory, Franklin Fletcher, Gregory's deceased father. Franklin was a working man and fixed cars for a living as well as did odd handy man jobs on the side for a living. Franklin passed away when Gregory was in middle school. "Oh Jesus let my boy get drafted!" Mama Dorothy shouted into the heavens. "C'mon Mom you're embarrassing me!" Gregory says half jokingly. Truth was he was as nervous as her. Sure Gregory had been scouted by a handful of teams but nothing is ever certain in life. All Gregory knew was that he played his hardest in San Antonio. The first two picks come and go in a flash... Carlito Crush and Andre Bly Jr are the first tworld to be picked. "No surprise there..." Gregory muses while his mother rants about how much better her son was compared to Andre. The next three picks come in non of them Gregory. Again his mother rants and raves about how much better Gregory is, Gregory can't help but to smile. Finally the sixth pick comes up.... And the Baltimore Hawks pick.... Corner back Gregory Fletcher!! In a rush of applause cheers and his mother jumping up and down with the picture of her deceased husband. Gregory finally breathe easy for the first time in awhile... "Finally got a home." He thinks already eager to get started!

Thinking back on the season 1 draft, I was deeply concerned about that day. Dread creeping up on me. I didn't play college football for very long and being that unknown quantity was definitely a red flag for most teams. Judging by the defensive line talent in the inaugural draft, it was daunting. I knew I could be impactful as a team member, I just needed a chance. I wasn't even sure if I'd get a starting spot, maybe only as a relief player.

The picks went on and on. I started thinking about other professions or a direction to guide my life if this didn't pan out. Finally as the dread crept up to a breaking point, The San Jose Sabercats ended up drafting me.

Overall I really thank the organization for drafting me. I think I returned that favor by being a staple of the defense for the lifetime of the organization as well as taking low contracts to get the highest chance to win.

Being and drafted and competing in the NSFL was never about money for me. It was always about competition. I always knew that I could perform at the highest level, and I'm glad I had the chance to play against worthy opponents.

I am writing here today about the time that I was drafted into the Nsfl. My name, Glenn McPoyal, was supposed to be drafted in the first round of the Nsfl draft. Pretty much everyone thought I was going to go in the first round. There were articles everyone was writing saying I would go in the first round. And that I would most likely be the sixth overall pick going to the Baltimore Hawks. Everyone thought that I would be going to Baltimore is because they don't have a true tight end. They have the once best wide receiver in John Watchner in that tight end slot and they are completely content with keeping him there. Now obviously that didn't happen I ended up going to second round. Although I went to the second round I went first overall in the second round. Ninth overall though. I went to the Yellowknife Wraiths which is pretty damn exciting for me. They're the best team in the Nsfl and their tight end is currently inactive. That means in a couple of seasons I will be the starting tight end for the Yellowknife Wraiths. This is my reflection on the day that I was drafted into the Nsfl.

Cameron Taylor has gone through two different drafts now. The DSFL draft and the NSFL draft. Both were so different, but each time Taylor ended up on the exact team he wanted to go to. It's weird how lucky he's been in his short time in the league. Starting with the DSFL draft, Taylor was relatively unknown. Some GMs had him high on their draft boards but never acted upon it, others never even sent him a pre-draft message. As the end of the 3rd round came, Cameron Taylor was getting restless. He had homework that night and he couldn't keep watching the draft as he GMs who were "very interested" kept passing him up. And then the great PDX came in a snatched Taylor up at 23rd overall. This is relatively late in the draft. But PDX had a great eye for talent. With his tutelage, Taylor became a DSFL force and helped lead the Pythons to the Championship. Then all of a sudden it was time for the NSFL draft. And this one was the complete opposite. Taylor knew the top 2 picks, and teammate John Wachter was confident at 3. Yellowknife was interested and were excited about using Taylor right away in his rookie year. It also helped that Taylor was 1 of 4 players to reach the 300 TPE mark pre-draft. So pretty much everyone knew Taylor was going top 5. It was great to be able to get drafted and then be able to enjoy the draft without being passed upon.

I went into draft night with a cold, because of course being healthy during one of the most important days of your life is overrated. As a kicker, I unsurprisingly wasn't invited to be there live, so I spent the night with some friends and some pizzas back home in Piscataway. Overall, it was very relaxed. I knew that I would be lucky to be drafted, so I didn't really come in with high expectations. Forfeit was by far the highest ranked kicker in the DSFL last year, so I told myself I wouldn't start getting nervous until his name was called. As the rounds went by, I spent time calling up and congratulating my fellow Coyotes teammates on their new homes.

So it caught me by surprise when a phone number from Denver called me before I saw Forfeit's name hit the screen. The back of my mind figured he would be selected before me still (Colorado didn't have a pick until the next round), but it didn't matter. I was going to the NSFL! Mr. Vincent then came on the television and called up my name, and the feeling was amazing. I'm honored the Yeti took the chance to pick me as the first kicker of the draft, and I hope not to let them down!

I remember the day I was drafted into the NSFL. I wasn't expecting to go early in the draft but I did, to one of the teams I wasn't really wanting to go too. It turned out alright as I won two Ultimus trophies and became a pretty dangerous player. I was actually drafted as a safety where I played my first year but was mis-used by the Arizona Outlaws. I remember before the draft Arizona didn't approach me even though I had held a press conference announcing I wasn't too wild about ending up in Arizona with a very shitty general manager. That general manager was replaced within the first season so it was a win-win for me because we ended up winning and I didn't have to play under an egotistical brat. On draft day I didn't think any team would take a flier on a a safety that early in the draft. I think currently I might be the only first round draft pick who is still actively going at it in the NSFL. Hopefully I go down as one fo the best players from that draft and also the top first round draft pick of that draft.

Quote:Written: Must include 200 words. As the drafts pass everyone remembers the day their name was called. Whether it was going unexpectedly early, or an event happening during that day that almost sent the day into other chaos, the draft is certainly a memorable time. Write about the day your name was called, whether it was the draft itself or something that happened before or after the draft had happened.

Man I gotta be honest I slept in on draft day and wasn't even awake and aware when my name was called. I was jet lagged from flying around prior to the draft. Once I woke up however I saw that I had like 30 missed calls and well over 200 texts. Highschool, uni friends, family members all congratulating me on being drafted. I don't even know who half the people were who tried to call me. I quickly checked online to find a draft rerun and skimmed through it to find out where I had landed.

I remember thinking to myself once I got to pick 70, 'wtf how did bojo kickshit get drafted before me?. The hell are these gms doing?'

I finally got to the 77th pick. Baltimore hawk gm enters the stage and leans into the mic. 'With the 77th overall, 13th round in the inaugugural draft, the Baltimore Hawks are proud to select... Turk Turkleton from U.C. Davis.'

Holy fuckin shit I have been drafted. I did a classic little victory dance and finished it with a sick pose. I search through my texts and find the number that belongs to my new gm. It's like 2am, but fuckit Ima call it.

.Broken: The fuck is this? It's 2am Im trying to sleep.

Turk: Hey its Turk Turkleton, sorry I slept in on the draft and am calling you now.

.Broken: listen kid, call me back in the morning oke.. for fuck sake these fucking kids.

Turk: Oke I`m so... the call had ended.

and thats the story of how my draft day was. Thank you Baltimore for selecting me, It's been a blast so far.

I am doing this post because @White Cornerback says I don’t remind people enough. With the 53rd pick in the season 2 draft, the Yellowknife Wraiths selected Darren Smallwood of Beloit College. It was crazy, two minutes later I was met by the team and working with the great @Ballerstorm on wide receiver tactics. Spike Crown, the General Manager, walked over to me. It was a bit surreal. What @Bzerkap said next will always be clear as day. “Welcome to Yellowknife, home of the best team in the NSFC. You know what makes us so great? Our loyalty to our players. We are loyal until the players hang up their cleats and go their separate ways. We have our player’s backs and so long as they want to play for Wraiths nation, we will keep them in Wraith’s nation. Obviously, if they don’t have a starting job it’s different, but you’ve got gumption and can be a great second wide receiver and compliment to Josh Garden.” Yup, still clear as day and memorable. There was nothing quite like it, no lie, and nothing ever will be. It’s why I’m still a Wraith to this day…no wait, no I’m not at all.

Jayce Tuck was drafted by the Arizona Outlaws in the season one draft with the last pick of the third round. Jayce hardly remembers the events that followed the draft because he was in Romania working with their clandestine intelligence organization to take out the baby seal population of the Black Sea.

Now you’re probably asking yourself, why was Romania set on killing baby seals, and how was Jayce Tuck involved. Well, the answer is twofold. Many Ukrainians rely on the seal population for sustenance and Jayce jumped at the opportunity to rob these people of their primary means of survival. To prospect of clubbing fluffy, helpless baby seals was just icing on the cake for Jayce.

Unfortunately for Jayce it was during the draft and his time in Romania that an infamous Russian computer hacker by the name of Pat Pancake gained an interest in him that would set off a series of events that would rock the National Simulation Football League down the line.

Tuck returned from his seal clubbing a hero and though he did not receive the hero’s welcome he so obviously deserved, Jayce made sure to insist on telling everyone he was a battle hardened veteran that had served in combat, particularly when he believed he could get a free beer or first-class flight upgrade out of the deal. Which included his flight to Arizona to join the Outlaws.
