(S7) - PT 2 - NS-if-L - Roly - 04-13-2018 Alright so for this what if scenario for the Point Task, I’m going to rewind the clock all the way back to … S5. Yeah super far, eh? But in the lead up to the S5 draft, the highly touted prospect Darren Morris suffered a massive simulated concussion and dropped off the face of the earth. In the lead up to the draft, his name was being passed around in the same sentence as Andre Bly and Carlito Crush. But after remaining simulated hospitalized for weeks on end, his draft stock plummeted. From a lock in the first couple of picks to the twelfth pick for the Outlaws. What could’ve happened? Knowing that the Yeti had to take Bly 2nd OA, and assuming Crush still goes 1 OA, the result could’ve been Morris ending up with the Hawks or Wraiths, pushing Wachter or Taylor further down the draft order. As it stands, the Hawks would likely love that what if scenario, with their own Wachter suffering his own serious hip inury that seems poised to ruin the potential of his career. The tandem of Valentine and a still developing Morris would’ve given the Hawks arguably the best deep coverage pair in the league and could’ve turned into the tipping point for the Baltimore franchise. Quote:211 words (S7) - PT 2 - NS-if-L - Daybe - 04-13-2018 What if - I never decided to retire Dwayne Barton, and went into the draft? Well, I had little TPE with Barton. Around 65 to be exact, so I probably wouldn't go very high in the absolutely stacked S2 class. I could probably see myself going in the later rounds, maybe the eight round. Who knows. I remember someone making an article saying I would go in the third round to the Liberty, and I had an interception in the prospect games for the Mongeese (MONGOOSE NATION) but I wasn't impressing. I was thinking, that I probably would've gone to Yellowknife at #61. Looking back at my old PMs, I think @Bzerkap was the only one who contacted me, and we had a nice and long conversation coming up until the draft. So I thought maybe Yellowknife, it sounded cool. Besides, all they had cornerback wise was Dirk Cutter, and Dermot Lavelle being a guaranteed thing at #1. Maybe they would need a third cornerback. I would assume the Yellowknife locker room would be able to keep me active. When I got there with Boggs, man, it was crazy how many posts there were in the discussion thread. I remember the guys, @SimmerDownBruhh, @Ballerstorm, @bovovovo, @Bzerkap of course, and @tlk742, just to name a few. I would probably stay in Yellowknife for a while, since that locker room was really fun, and we were contending for the Ultimus. This would create a no-fly zone with two of the best cornerbacks in the league, @White Cornerback and I. And who knows after that? Maybe the Wraiths win an Ultimus with an improved secondary. Maybe I'm the piece that pushes them over the top, being the 8th round draft pick who was relatively inactive. Some sure things: @Bzerkap would take the credit @Ballerstorm would still leave for ![]() ![]() (S7) - PT 2 - NS-if-L - Bzerkap - 04-13-2018 (04-13-2018, 02:47 PM)Daybe Wrote:What if - I never decided to retire Dwayne Barton, and went into the draft? This is a good timeline (S7) - PT 2 - NS-if-L - Dawegg - 04-13-2018 The last Ultimus Championship is the most recent major turning point in the league before we can truly know how this past NSFL draft turned out. Had Josh Garden caught the game winning touchdown against the Orange County Otters to secure the Philadelphia Liberty's first bowl win, the entire momentum of the league would have changed. Orange County has been known as a force of dominance every since the conception of the NSFL. Their continued success signals that they are here to fight to the bitter end to retain their status within the league. A last minute win against the Liberty has undoubtedly solidified the Otters as a true dynasty that may linger on for a few more seasons. Every player on that team is a year older, but it's a strong possibility that they may be able to repeat for a fourth consecutive title when they have repeatedly defeated their challengers in the past. Supposing if the Liberty were to have been the Season Six NSFL champions, it would have been the first time a team other than the Otters or Outlaws to win their own Ultimus trophy. However, as it stands only two teams have won the Ultimus and it appears the long desired parity of the league might come at a significantly later date. Word Count: 217 (S7) - PT 2 - NS-if-L - ADwyer87 - 04-13-2018 If er never made multis, what would the S2 draft have looked like for the Outlaws? The S2 draft was an amazing one for the Outlaws, however, we would later find out that was due to Er making a lot of players and telling the Outlaws GM to draft them. So what if this didnt happen? Well, former Outlaws GM me is here to tell you. 3rd overall - Vincent Sharpei - @Muford We wanted an offensive lineman, and this was the guy we had 3rd on our draft board behind Pest and Lavelle. With no pest, Sharpei is the obvious pick 16th, 24th, 32nd, 35th overall - Dustin Evans, Scotty Timlin, C.A. Chess, Allen Davis no change here, we would still have to go with these guys. I was talked into picking Evans against my better judgement, but he became a good guy. Timlin never worked out but he was my man. Chess was also the guy i wanted, and he was good. I think if the scandal never happened he would still be active. my original plan was Timlin at 16th and Chess at 24th, but luckily that still worked out. Allen Davis was a native Arizonan and for the first few seasons of his career he was top notch, another guy i think the scandal took away from activity 40th overall - Darren Smallwood - @tlk742 We were really into Smallwood, especially when we realized we could move him to positions. If it wasnt for the now-known multis Luechly and Ronaldo, I think we would have taken him as early as here. We would have likely asked him to go to DL if we made this pick After that i really dont remember who was on our board (S7) - PT 2 - NS-if-L - sapp2013 - 04-13-2018 What if Matthew Vincent doesn't retire? Well, at the end of season 3, the Hawks seemed to be the next power in the NSFC when he retired, but if you reverse that, what happens? Well, the Hawks have Trey Willie, Vincent re signs with the Hawks, and Blocksdale becomes QB. Christmas still goes Inactive, but Darlane Farlane stays active. Hawks make their 3rd straight appearance in the playoffs during season 4 after not losing to the Yeti due to vincents great game planning from becoming GM, and they make the ultimus, only to lose to the otters. Now this is where it gets interesting. With the S4 pick being much farther back, the Hawks actually end up with Andres waiters, one of few actives from that class. Halfway through the season, the Hawks are looking for a new cogm and Sapp becomes the Co-GM of the Hawks instead of itsjustbarry. A GM vacancy opens in Colorado, to be filled by ExemplaryChad. The legion mass retire, and itsjustbarry steps in as the legions new gm. With Andre off the board for season 5 draft, the yeti take both wachter and crush with their two firsts. With the Hawks 2 first round picks, they select Gregory Fletcher and Ryan Sierra. With the departure of Trey Willie and still having an active farlane, Owen Taylor switches to WR, and the Hawks win the ultimus in S5. And that is the NS IF L. (S7) - PT 2 - NS-if-L - speculadora - 04-13-2018 WHAT IF SECOND LINE WERE NOT MEME DREAM TEAM. IF SECOND LINE WERE NOT MEME TEAM LEAGUE WOULD BE WORSE. THERE WOULD BE NO MORE SHIT POSTS. NO MORE BOVO MEMES AND TBONE FANFIC IF TEAM NO MEMES. BUT SECOND LINE DO MEME. SECOND LINE SHIT POST. SECOND LINE LOSE GAMES. SECOND LINE SHIT POST SOME MORE. LEAGUE LAUGHS (NOT REALLY). SO WHAT CHANGE IF TEAM NO MEME? BRIAN MILLS WOULD BE ANNOYING (ALREADY IS TO BE HONEST). POOPYFACE TOMATONOSE (RIP) WOULD NOT BE DRAFTED. PROBABLY WOULD HAVE AUSTIN ROENICK INSTEAD, OH NO. TERRELL BRISTER WOULD BE TRADED. NO OFFICE QUOTES AND AVATARS EVERYWHERE. LEAGUE WOULD BE LESS FUN PLACE FOR ALL INVOLVED IF SECOND LINE DID NOT MEME. ALSO LOCKER ROOM WOULD SUCK. IF LOCKER ROOM WOULD SUCK THEN BOVO PROBABLY QUIT. IF BOVO QUIT THEN LEAGUE LOSES BEST MEMES. IF BOVO QUIT THEN PROBABLY EVERYONE QUIT. SECOND MASS RETIREMENT IN LEAGUE HISTORY, BUT THIS TIME EVERYBODY RETIRES. NOTHING FILLS THE VOID LEFT BEHIND BY BOVO. ONLY MEMBER LEFT IS ER. HE RUNS LEAGUE AGAIN. CREATES MANY MULTIS. LEAGUE LIVES ON WITH ER CONTROLLING EVERY PLAYER. LOGAN NOBLE TRIES TO RECREATE BUT GETS BANNED FOR CREATING MULTIS. ADAM REJOINS LEAGUE AND DISCOVERS MULTIS. BANS ER. LEAGUE DIES. ALL BECAUSE SECOND LINE NOT MEME DREAM TEAM. NO. 211 WORDS (S7) - PT 2 - NS-if-L - PDXBaller - 04-14-2018 Many things come to mind when it comes to thinking about the 'what-if' scenarios. We can think about the Legion mass retirement as a good example of what would have happened to the team if all the members remained active and didn't retire. I believe they would have stayed in Las Vegas and remain the Legion instead of becoming the New Orleans Second Line. That would mean no rebranding efforts by the team at all. Bovo probably wouldn't have retired to recreate as Borkus Maximus and the Wraiths defense would still be one of the best in the NSFC. This would have led to a tougher S5 and S6 season for my team, the Philadelphia Liberty because we're in the same division. Cosbornballboy wouldn't have taken over and made the trade for himself and then trading himself out of Las Vegas and probably remain on the Baltimore Hawks. Because the Legion mass retired, the NSFC opened up for the Liberty and made the division less competitive through an odd ripple effect. This wouldn't have as much impact on the ASFC, but we'd see a closer division in the NSFC for seasons 5, 6, and 7 assuming all players remained on the same teams they were signed with. (S7) - PT 2 - NS-if-L - dropbear - 04-14-2018 What if the Yellowknife Wraiths never retired their old logo? It’s pretty common knowledge around the league now that the Wraiths are suffering from the ‘Old Man Yellowknife Curse’ because of the decision to swap from the eerie, wisened old man the originally represented their franchise to the blue-eyed skeleton that I assume was a surfer before being eaten alive by some sort of Canadian frost ant, and who is likely also a rapper based on his hood. When you look at the Wraiths inability to win the Ultimus through the lens of the bright blue eyes of their logo, you start to realise why he constantly wears a look of mild shock: the team will never win a championship until they agree to bring back their original logo. No one is afraid of a skeleton who looks like he’s already been killed by some sort of supernatural game hunter and hung up on a plaque in his man-cave to display to Er and all his multies when they come around for some sort of sick, twisted tea party. Heed my warning all ye who play for Yellowknife: never shall ye win the Ultimus with surfer-skeleton-Eminem as your logo. Repent, and bring back old man Yellownkife. (S7) - PT 2 - NS-if-L - ralams123 - 04-14-2018 Im going to dive into one of the biggest if not the biggest what ifs in the NSFL history. What if Er a was never caught being a multi of his multis were not actually multis. Well for one Er would no longer be the most dedicated player on the site and would stop being on the receiving end of pretty funny jokes about how he kind of screwed over the league. But lets get in deeper at this time the outlaws were 3 time champs and even though they lost to the Otters in Season 4, they were still THE dynasty to join and THE team to beat with a very bright future for a long time. But during the offseason after season 4 it was found out that Er was the ring leader of about 7 other Multis that made up the Outlaws forever shunned disgracing their team and putting an asterisk next to all their trophies. After the banning of the multis Arizona slowly started dropping in standings and went from a yearly championship contender to league bottom dwellers with the likes of the Yeti and Second Line (no offense). Taking full advantage of this is San Jose who are now in the playoffs yearly due to the fall of Arizona (214 Words) |
