Written Task #2

New Talent is one that might have been the reason that the New Orleans Second Line made the ultimus this past season. We could talk for days and days about the pickup of Paul DiMirio, and how he made huge impacts on the offensive side of the ball. But one underrated move that New Orleans made was trading for none other than Benson Bayley, cornerback that used to be on the San Jose Sabercats. Benson Bayley was a season three draftee that has made impact upon impact since entering the league, and New Orleans needed another secondary player to go next to Vladmir Fyodrovich. They got it in Benson Bayley, who helped anchor the secondary for most of the season and help bring New Orleans to their first Playoff berth in team history. Benson is going to continue to get better and he has another season under his belt before he even touches regression. Benson Bayley is a player that has already had a huge impact in the locker room and has come in as a leader as well as continued to produce on the field. Benson Bayley might very well be the steal trade of the season as long as New Orleans is able to keep him.

That Magic Moment is none other than New Orleans going into Orange County and beating the Otters at HOME! We could talk about the whole game, but let us just talk about the last drive of the game. New Orleans got the ball back with 2 minutes and 37 seconds left in the game at their own 25. They ended up driving the whole damn field, eating up the whole clock and with 10 seconds left Kicker Peg Leg hit a 46 yard field goal to win the game. This was New Orleans first ever playoff appearance and first ever playoff win and god you could see how the team reacted. It was a magical game because New Orleans was the underdog against the Otters. New Orleans has been the underdogs all season long and ever since they came into the league really, and they were finally able to show up and show out, showing the league that they can be the team of the future, being a young and strong defense. The offense is just a few different plays off to continue its dominance. New Orleans is a team that will continue to improve and make teams take notice, by taking the league by storm.

Written Task #10

Sadly the MVP of the Ultimus is the bad quarterback of the Yellowknife Wraiths Mat Akelson. From what has been said around the locker room after the game, Mut Akslon spiked New Orleans Water supply and made their defense sluggish for the whole game. It was a bad time, but sadly it is what happened and Matty Akselen was named the MVP. Muat Akslsen decided to take a trip to Disneyworld for winning the MVP of the Ultimus and hit on all the Disney princesses. The Police were called because of a drunk man screaming “I AM THE MVP. I WON THE ULTIMUS. LOOK ME UP I AM MATT AKSELSEN”. The Police decided to google this man and nothing came up, nor could they find really anything on Yellowknife as a whole. Mutt Akson was then put into jail for the evening for drunk and disorderly conduct and harassment of Disney princesses. After the fact, Matthew Akselon was able to sober up and pay bail and decided to leave Disneyworld because it was for the best. Nat Akselson then decided to head back to Yellowknife because that was the place where he could continue his “victory” and “MVP” trophy that were surely not earned but stolen.

The unsung hero for the playoffs is Blackford Oakes this man had 9 tackles, 1 sack and 1 pass deflection in the ultimus and against Orange County he had 1 tackle and one pass deflection and one interception and he is the unsung hero because he was everywhere on the field and everywhere you look you could see him in the middle of the play and he had a few drive saving tackles against Yellowknife in the finals and without Blackford Oakes New Orleans might have not kept it as close as the score shows and the defense could have faltered without their captain and safety in the backfield and Oakes shows a lot of promise and love for the New Orleans team and is always there to help out and cheer up the guys and you can see how he’s always on the sideline with the defense off the field in his teammates ears giving advice and helps makes plans to make sure that New Orleans defense could stay in the game and without Blackford Oakes who is probably going to be secondary player of the year New Orleans might not even make the Ultimus because of how important he is to the team.

(S8) - Ultimus Week - iseedoug - 06-29-2018

Sit down with a fan (with nunccoepi):

1. You have just finished your first year in the League, how did it compare to your expectations?

I do wish we would have won more games, but I knew going in it was going to be a rebuild. I think on a personal level, i did make huge improvements in my game. I acheived my career high in tackles and made huge strides in my athletic ability, but did not get as many big plays as I was hoping. I did get more tackles this season than my man Chad Pennington, which I think solidfies the questions surrounding my performance in the DSFL.

2. Your former team, The Tijuana Luchadores, lead by your associate Icy Douglas, just struck Ultimini gold. Tell me about what it has been like to witness their rise to success?

Man I am so proud of those guys, particularly Icy and Epictitus. Taking a team with very few old faces (other than my guy Thad) to the Ultimini, let alone win it, takes some crafty game planning and locker room leadership. There are also lots of young stars on that Luchdores team that can make an impact on the next level. I hope San Jose can snag a few of them in the draft to help us make our own championship run.

3. What do you anticipate for next year regarding your personal goals and expectations?
As far as personal goals go, I am going to make a switch in my game play style. So far I have relied a lot on my strength and power to make plays, but I think the NSFL is an extremely fast league. So, I am going to make the switch to focusing on my speed and agility to take my game to the next level. I started working towards this goal mid season this year, and think it should be a quick transision, I also would like to continue to improve my game intelligence, which is becoming more important with a complex and pass heavy league.

4. What do you think about the rebuild going on in San Jose lately?
I think we are making moves in the right direction. The trade of Bayley for future draft picks was a huge move that I think should set us up for a bright future. I do hope we not only make a splash in the draft (getting my Lucha guys), but also in the free agent/trade market. I think this next season will still be a lot of rebuild, but hopefully S10 will be our year. We just need to be aggressive with our moves, and take advantage of old age of players on other teams in the NSFL. Guys will be retiring soon, and we will be prepared to make multiple playoff runs.

Sit down with a superstar (with nunccoepi aka Verso L'Alto): Link: http://nsfl.jcink.net/index.php?showtopic=...ndpost&p=133364

1. The Hawks had high hopes this season with some big early season success and a trip to the post season, but could not finish the job to reach the Ultimus. What do you think needs to improve or change to make that next big step in S9?

To be honest, I think it's really hard to tell in some ways. On paper, we had one of the best teams and undoubtedly the best offense in the league this season. And yet we couldn't get it done. Some might say that we had poor leadership or other off-field issues and yet I don't think it's that either. Our leadership is experienced and we had some great times in the locker room this season without any real issues. I think this just wasn't our year. Sometimes that just happens. I have confidence that next season will be much better, however.

2. The DSFL proved to be exciting this year, particularly for your former team the Luchadores. What do you think about their season performance and Ultimini win? What aspects of the team do you think helped them secure two underdog wins in the playoffs?

Yeah, wow, what an exciting year for the Luchadores! Everyone that knows me knows that my love runs deep for my former team. I wish I could have been out on the field with them. From what I have been able to gather, they seemed like a really scrappy team, and of course I mean that in a good way. They didn't blow teams out. They won their two playoff games by a combined two points for crying out loud. But they found a way to win, plain and simple.

3. Are there any players you would like the Hawks to pick up on the free agent market or trade for? Or do you think the team should continue to add talent through the draft?

We definitely need to draft well. You see that as a common characteristic for winning teams across all professional sports. I won't give away any targets in particular that the Hawks might be looking at, but its no secret that it's a pretty talented draft class so I'm excited to see who'll be moving to the great city of Baltimore. This is also important because talent tends to attract talent. When free agents see talent arriving in Baltimore, that will make it that much more of an attractive destination.

4. Do you have any personal goals for this season? I believe you are going into a contract year, which could prove to be important for your new contract or potentially free agent pricing.

That's right. I've spent the last couple of seasons thinking about what I want my impact on the league to be. I've decided that I'm not in it for the money. I want to enjoy myself as much as I can, and I want to leave my mark in the record books. By the time my career comes to end I want to leave no doubt in anyone's mind that I'm the best Tight End the league has ever seen. This season will be just another step towards that.

New Talent:

Not many trades happen in the DSFL, let alone impactful ones. This is due to the quick turnover of players, team dynamics, and the unknown of players in development and future draft classes. Despite this traditional narrative of the DSFL trade market, 1 trade this year made more difference than given credit for. A few weeks before the trade deadline the Tijuana Luchadores traded a S9 2nd round for WR Stone Hans and CB Daquan Richardson. This future sacrifice was proven worth while. The Luchadores formed one of the top WR cores by adding a 3rd talented WR to the team, and solidified the defensive secondary with a much needed ball hawk CB. Richardson finished the season with 42 tackles and 3 interceptions, and 12 total tackles in the playoffs. WR Stone Hans provided an out when the Luchadores lead WR X.Flash was found in tight or double coverage, getting 6 receptions for over 50 yards in the playoffs. Eventually the depth created by this trade, along with a quickly developing rookie set of players on both sides of the ball, lead the Luchadores to their first Ultimini win, and 2nd Ultimini appearance. Without this trade, it would be hard to coverage the heavy pass game of KCC in the Ultimini.

That Magic Moment:

After a few painful losses to the Marshals in the regular season, the Luchadores were underdogs going into the playoffs. No one expected them to even make it past the conference round. Yet, by a 1 point margin late in the game, they did. Back to back SFC Championships. Seems pretty magically right? Many thought the Luchadores should be pretty satisfied with a conference championship and just let the Ultimini go. I mean after all, if they weren’t supposed to win the first round, what makes anyone think they can win it all verse the strongest Coyotes team the DSFL has seen. It took a lot of crafty game planning and locker room hype to get that win. Something that is hard to repeat. Despite the league’s and fan’s doubt, the Luchadores were determined to not let the story end here, in particular, the Luchadores record breaking kicker Kyle Corbett. Fast forward to the Ultimini, its the end of the 4th. The Luchadores are down by 2, after several failed 2 point conversions in hopes to gain the lead earlier in the 4th. The Luchadores defense makes a stand, and gets the ball back to the offense with roughly 2 minutes to go. This is the Luchadores last chance. The luchadores move the ball some, but after several huge pass drops, it seems hope is lost. Penner makes one last deep through to get in field goal range, nails a 49 yard pass, leaving the Luchadores with a 50 yard field goal. Many fans are already leaving the stadium. A 50 yarder can be done, but it's tough, particularly in the high winds of KC that day. Kyle jogged out of the field confident his record breaking leg can hit this. He reassures his teammates, he has this. After what seemed like ages, the ball is snapped, the ball is placed, and Kyle gives it his all… and he drains it with 0 seconds left on the clock! The Luchadores win it! The first Ultimini in franchise history. Magic? Maybe so. Historic? Definitely.

New Talent: Write about which S8 trade will or did have the biggest impact in the playoffs. Can be written at any time depending on if you choose to write about who already has or who will do good

Ummm, where to begin with this one? So San Jose and Philly traded their entire teams to New Orleans Secondline who suddenly turned their team around and won 7 of their final 8 games and beat the Otters in a close road game for the ASFC championship title. These guys traded for Paul Dimirio and Benson Bayley, among others. When they faced the Otters they went into extreme ball control mode and used Darren Smallwood's rushing abilities to eat clock and keep the ball out of Mike Boss' hands. And with their defense shored up in the weakest point, the secondary, they were able to hold their own against the Otters air raid offense enough to keep them from putting up the big points that the Otters are known for. The addition of these extra pieces were able to really help the NOLA defense click and help give them a second reliable pair of hands in the middle of the field to compliment Ardie Savea. This was easily one of the biggest trade deadline deals we had ever seen a team pull off and it almost turned into complete success, but NOLA weren't able to beat the Wraiths in the Ultimus. Still these trades leave them poised for success for season 9.

Hate the player or the game: Tell us which team made the playoffs and shouldn't have, or which team didn't and should have? (Can be completed at any point)

Clearly the team that should not have made the playoffs were the New Orleans Second Line. Those dirty cheaters with their collusion trades gave up peanuts in exchange for a crop of elite players. They knew that they would need to add tons of TPE in order to defeat the greatest NSFL team of all time, the OC Otters. So they made back-room deals with other opponents of the Otters like the Liberty (still jealous even after winning one of their trouncing in S6) and the San Jose Sabercats (jealous because they've always sucked and nobody in Calinfornia goes to their games anymore) to bring down the Otters dynasty by stacking one team. Let's also not talk about the gambling part of it. Some surprise the team that used to be in Vegas and had odds of making the Ultimus at 300:1 suddenly is able to make massive cheap trades and get to the game? Hmmmmmmm.....smells fishy to me. Several government agencies have been inquiring into the bank accounts and financial dealings of a few team owners in San Jose and Philadelphia in regards to some "suspect gambling activities", but that must be completely unrelated, right? The Second Line are just a bunch of dirty cheaters and should not have made the playoffs at all.

Going to Disneyland!:Who was the Ultimus MVP? Give us a rundown of their celebratory trip to Disneyland. (Can be completed after the Ultimus game)

I'd have to give the award of Ultimus MVP to the one-and-only Dermot Lavelle. Dermot was able to contain a very capable passing offense led by Borkman as he threw to the likes of Evans and Law. Although it can be difficult to judge a cornerback's performance by their statline Dermot was still able to put up some respectable numbers and he was able to pick off Borkman once as well for his only turnover of the game. By playing well and sticking tight in coverage Dermot effectively shut down half of the field and force Borkman to dink-and-dunk over the middle of the field for short yardages, or give the ball to Smallwood. With the Wraiths out in front to an early lead being able to take away the out routes and still protect against the deep ball meant they were going to have a very difficult time catching up on the Second Line offense. In the end Dermot Lavelle was too much and controlled the field too well and NOLA was never able to get enough moving on offense. Borkman finished the game with a 70 passer rating and Dermot was declared the Ultimus MVP and took a trip to Disneyland.

(S8) - Ultimus Week - speculadora - 06-30-2018

New Talent: Write about which S8 trade will or did have the biggest impact in the playoffs.

Micah Hendrix has to be the biggest acquisition to affect the playoff outcomes, although his praises went unsung at the time of the deal. Still, Yellowknife were going up against two teams in the playoffs that had terrific players at both tight end and running back, positions against which linebacker play is crucial. Hendrix's impact was felt in both the running game and the passing game, as he compiled a playoff line of 10 tackles, 1 sack, and 6 passes defensed. Although the ten tackles mean he averaged just five in each of the Wraiths' two playoff games, I'm more interested in the sack and a rather impressive six pass breakups, four of which came in the Ultimus Championship game against New Orleans. To me, the four breakups against New Orleans indicate that Hendrix's impact was felt as he played coverage on the Second Line's dangerous duo of Ardie Save and their own trade acquisition Paul DiMirio. The two combined for 11 catches, 109 yards, and 0 touchdowns. Considering the threat those two players present, it was a job well done for Hendrix and the Wraiths.

Playoff Review: Write a short review of the playoffs and each of the matchups.

In the ASFC conference finals we saw the presumed favorites in Orange County get upended by the up and coming New Orleans Second Line. It was an amazing, closely fought battle from start to finish. In the end the difference was New Orleans' ability to put something close to a lid on the explosive Otters passing attack. Stifling the Otters best weapon presented the Second Line with the opportunity to drive down the field and kick a game winning field goal. They pulled it off with just 10 seconds on the clock and booked their trip to the finals. On the other side of the bracket, in the NSFC, we had another thriller between the Wraiths and the Hawks. After jumping out to a 21-0 lead, the Hawks simply lost their rhythm and a Yellowknife score before half gave them some momentum. They seized the momentum after halftime, outscoring the Hawks 31-3 in a dominant display that saw them reel off 24 unanswered points en route to a comeback victory. The Ultimus itself was admittedly less entertaining than the conference matchups, as the Wraiths seemed in control for most of the game. New Orleans ripped off a long kick return to open the game but the Wraiths clamped down in the red zone and forced a fourth down. New Orleans' kicker pushed the kick wide left and the Wraiths got the ball back. After briefly falling behind 3-0 in the 1st, the Wraiths drove back down the field for a touchdown and never relinquished the lead, securing the title 24-13.

Going to Disneyland!: Who was the Ultimus MVP? Give us a rundown of their celebratory trip to Disneyland.

The Ultimus MVP has to be the man who has so long been the heart and soul of this Wraiths team, Mat Akselsen. The quarterback put on a composed and efficient performance, passing for 335 yards and a touchdown to go with 32 yards on the ground. He was sacked just twice, allowing Yellowknife to stay ahead in the field position battle for most of the game. Although Akselsen's ventures in the NSFL's championship went as well as he could have hoped, his celebratory trip to Disney Land did not. In fact, he wasn't even able to make the trip. Shortly after winning the Ultimus, Akselsen was busted by Yellowknife police for his active participation and organization of a cock fighting ring. The investigation is still underway and Akselsen is unable to leave Canada for the time being. Akselsen has made little in the way of a public statement since, only claiming his own innocence. Shortly after arresting Akselsen, local police rounded up his teammate, Micah Hendrix, and Akselsen was seen leaving the police precinct with a grin on his face. Hendrix has since retired in disgrace after his involvement in the ring came to light.

Unsung Hero: Who was the unsung hero of the playoffs, convince us.

Entering this season, most thought it would be another season before the New Orleans Second Line were serious threats to knock off the Orange County Otters. However, some shrewd trades from the team's general manager put the team in a position to pose an immediate threat to an Orange County team that most believed had lost some its luster after they choked a home game away to the Colorado Yeti. Still, the captain of that New Orleans team was a player they'd had from the start - Blackford Oakes. Oakes put up a performance that, in my opinion, deserves the Defensive Player of the Year honors. Yet he might go overlooked because of Yellowknife's Boss Tweed. In the playoffs, Oakes was once again special. He secured New Orleans' only turnover in their battle against the Otters, intercepting Mike Boss. He then left it all on the field against Yellowknife, compiling 9 tackles, a sack, and a pass breakup. There is nobody who can question Oakes' impact both in the regular season and the playoffs at this point, yet he still lacks a reputation as one of the league's preeminent defensive players. Hopefully this season will get him the recognition he is so deserving of.

Sit down with Dermo - found here http://nsfl.jcink.net/index.php?showtopic=...ndpost&p=132662

His questions to me

You guys crashed out in the NSFC Conference game to the Yellowknife Wraiths, 38-24. What exactly went wrong there?

- I don't really think much went wrong. We started out up 21-0 and we have a lot of great talent. Matty Aks is a great talent and going against him while the Wraiths were the home team is always a tough ask. The Wraiths have a lot of talent, so I wouldn't say anything went wrong to lose in the championship game.

How is the morale in the locker room after the playoff early exit?

- Morale were surprisingly high. The team was disappointed with a bad regular season, but we managed to squirm our way into the playoffs. So I would say the team was feeling optimistic heading into season 9 for sure.

Many have speculated that the Baltimore Hawks may themselves head into firesale mode in the near future, can you confirm/deny these claims and why?

- We can affirmatively deny those rumors. The Baltimore Hawks are in great shape, ready to contend in S9 and in S10 as well. There's no reason for us to pull a philly and sell everyone off. Yes they might get set up to be in great shape in a few seasons, but we're ready to stay competitive. We have all our high level picks, and have the ability to draw Free Agents so I think we'll be good enough to win a championship in the coming seasons, and not have to bottom out.

Had you defeated Yellowknife in the playoffs, how confident would you have been heading into an Ultimus versing NOLA?

- If we beat Yellowknife in Yellowknife I would've felt pretty good in New Orleans. They're a very talented team, but I would say that we would've been able to gone in and won in NOLA for sure. I think they would've considered themselves favored but we are not afraid at all and I like to think our Offensive advantage would give it to us.

Just how many years does Blocksdale have left in the tank?

Avon is about to start regressing - but he's a machine. With the offensive talent surrounding him in Baltimore he's going to be viable for a while. I imagine he'll play until there's a replacement to come in and take over for him. For now though he's just around having fun.

ULTIMUS MVP

Robby Rainey was a steal for the Yellowknife Wraiths immediately when he was drafted in the second round (and the Wraiths acquired him in a ridiculous steal of a trade with the Arizona Outlaws. Rainey had a pretty good Ultimus game but you're not here to read about his Ultimus game. You're here to see what Rainey did in disney land. He met a ton of characters he mt Woody from Toy Story, Jasmine from Aladdin, Gaston (from Beauty & the Beast), Anna from Frozen, Aladdin, The Beast The Genie (from Aladdin), Timon & Pumba (from Lion King), Donald Duck, Flynn Rider (from Tangled), Muchu (from Mulan), Mickey Mouse, Scar (from Lion King), Ariel (from Little Mermaid), Belle (from Beauty & The Beast), Goofy and Simba (from Lion king).

In addition to those characters Robby also went to all the different worlds of Disney. He went to epcott, magic kindom, animal kingdom, MGM studios. He went on rolar coasters like rockin roller coaster and he even went on the legendary space mountain. After getting hot he decided he wanted to go into the water park and he went to Blizzard Beach and he went to Typhoon Lagoon. His favorite ride was the Tower of terror as he a spooky master. I don't know why, but this was awful to write. 220

PLAYOFF SERIES MVP

The NSFC Championship game score didn't look close at the first blush. The Hawks lost by 14, when they fell 38 to 24. The Hawks in fact were initially up by a dominant three touchdown lead when they started out the game 21 to 0. The Yellowknife Wraiths however didn't falter and were not afraid at all. The Wraiths were monster and came back. The biggest reason was their defense. Marcus Kane stood out with 12 tackles, three of them were behind the line of scrimmage for a loss and additionally he had one sack. Kane did well but I think the MVP of the game has to go to Mat Akselsen. He had no interceptions, but threw for less than 50%. Still though his mistake free game, two touchdowns, and 245 yards helped lead the Wraiths to victory. He threw for less yards than Rival Avon Blocksdale (dude threw 420 yards) but Blocksdale did throw a pick. Aks had to be the NSFC championship game MVP and he is a big reason the Wraiths are the one walking home with the title. Aks had a shaky playoff reputation as a choker, and he was fully completely able to shed that reputation with a great win here and a major game in the Ultimus. 214

Sit down with a fan:
Interview with iseedoug: http://nsfl.jcink.net/index.php?showtopic=...ndpost&p=133204

Sit down with a superstar: (questions from iseedoug)

That Magic Moment:

Ok everyone knows what the most magical moment of the championship games is (and I'll give you a hint, it doesn't take place in the BORING Ultimus game). Kyle freaking Corbett man. Right from the moment that he was snatched up off of waivers he made an instant impact for the Tijuana Luchadores by nailing 7 of 8 field goals in his first game. Since that time he went on to inscribe his name in the record books by smashing the record for the most field goals in a season. And then in the playoffs he went mysteriously silent. He made both of his XPs in the conference championship but didn't attempt a field goal. In the championship he does something that he almost never does: he missed an extra point. The Luchador brass must have sensed the pressure getting to the young kicker as they decided to go for two on both of their subsequent PATs. However, both were unsuccessful. This left the young team in a predicament. Down 20-18 with two minutes left, they knew they had to make a push deep into Coyote territory. But once there, could they trust Kyle Corbett to put the game away? For Corbett, it was never a question. He set his jaw, laced up his cleat and trotted confidently to the 40 yard line. He began his cadence and took a deep breath. The ball was snapped with only a second left on the clock. The hold was secure and Corbett booted the ball harder than he ever has in his life. The force of the kick actually knocked him over and Corbett fell backwards to the ground making a muffled "oof" as the force of the fall knocked the wind out of him. In his dazed state he could hear the loud "dong" of the football hitting the cross bar and he laid back down crest-fallen. It wasn't until he felt the force of his 50 teammates dog-piled on top of him that he realized that the ball had bounced up and through the uprights.

Playoff Review: Write a short review of the playoffs and each of the matchups. Must be completed after the Championship Game

The first game of the playoffs saw Orange County appearing in their 8th straight playoff appearance, a phenomenal accomplishment. Their streak, when it ends, will likely never be surpassed. However, their run of consecutive Ultimus appearances has ended, as the New Orleans Second Line won on a last second field goal by Peg Leg. Particularly noteworthy was Borkus Maximus dropping back to throw 61 times for 364 through the air. This would send New Orleans to their first Ultimus. Next up was a very odd win for the Yellowknife Wraiths over the Baltimore Hawks. Blocksdale had an amazing game, with 420 yards on only 50 attempts. Taylor rushed for 108 as well as the Hawks gained an impressive 536 yards, compared to only 388 for Yellowknife, who somehow managed 38 points. Finally, we got to see an Ultimus between New Orleans and Yellowknife, guaranteeing a new Ultimus champion would emerge. Surprisingly, both QBs passed for the same # of yards, but Akselsen hit that mark with 11 fewer attempts. The two games combined for only 6 sacks, as both QBs did a decent job of avoiding pressure. In the end, Yellowknife would go on to win a second straight two score game and their first Ultimus.

Hate the player or the game: Tell us which team made the playoffs and shouldn't have, or which team didn't and should have? (Can be completed at any point)

How does a team go from losing 32 straight games, which will hopefully remain a league record, to winning 6 of their last 12? The Colorado Yeti were not a great team by any chance, but the turnaround the managed this year was something I absolutely wanted to see in the playoffs. If one team got voted in by the fans, it would have been the Colorado Yeti. In Season 7, the Yeti scored an embarrassingly low 137 points, while giving up 501, the worst ratio in league history. Their defense was last in every category, their offense last in all but rushing. This year, their scoring jumped by 168%, and their points allowed dropped by 32%, an across the board performance. Not a single category was last in the league, with only 4 of the 8 even as low as seventh. In addition, their rushing yards allowed actually ranked in the top half of the league, an unthinkable performance after the previous year. With the almost triple efficiency from quarterback Ryan Applehort, plus the addition of Eli Kamaka on the interior, Colorado has shown that they were ready to compete on the big stage, and I really wanted to see them get the chance.

Sit-down with a star:Interview a player from a team that is not your own that is in the playoffs. You must ask them four questions and at least three must relate to the league in some way. YOU MUST POST THE QUESTIONS AND THEIR ANSWERS FOR CREDIT. (Can be completed at any point) (Interviewed @OBESE's player Declan Harp)

1) Portland had seemed to many to be the top team in the conference. How do you think KC ended up getting the upper hand?

2) How do you feel about your chemistry with fellow rookie Gus Showbiz?

3) Which part of Tijuana's team scares you the most?

4) Which part of KC (not counting you) will need to step up the most to win it all?

1. Truth to be told I just think they made a lot of mistakes that hunted them. American football is a game that is based not only on skills like quick reaction but also on mental skills like quick decision making and I guess a lot of their decision making was bad and came back to bite them in the arse.

2. He's great! I mean I am not the player that has to have the best chemistry with him as others are catching ball more often and rushing those yards and my work includes some other things which is more him trusting I will do my job. We haven't had any issues and I can only say that he's a great QB and Im glad to be playing with him together!

3. None! I live be the principle that you cannot be scared from no one, especially no team or player. Much of the game is mental game, that's why you have all the trash talk on the field and stuff like that, players are trying to destroy you mentally and only then physically. So, if you are afraid of any team or player, that means that they have already won and you have already lost.

4. Definitely Offence! I mean our defence has done amazing job and thanks to them we are where we are. Now it is time for offence to do their part and do some proper damage. Sure, there is a reason why there is the saying - defence wins championships, but at the same time there cannot be a win if offence is non existing.
