(S9) - Weekend PT 2 - Job Posting - Raven - 07-22-2018 Quote:Written: Must Include 150 Words. What would happen if you woke up tomorrow and the NSFL was suddenly disbanded. What would your player be doing as a job if the football world closed down and money stopped coming in. If Turk Turkleton would wake up one day, check his phone and see that the NSFL had disbanded, he would put his phone back and go back to sleep. Turk has been in the league for quite some time now and has earned a pretty penny from it all. Besides contract money, he has also earned from sponsorships and other endorsements. Turk would take this opportunity to take it nice and easy and just enjoy the life he has built for himself and his family. He has been wise and saved up his money, he lives quite modest, so there should not be any money needs. He might join a local team, because American Football is such a big part of his life, but might also just say fuck it and quit playing. He will probably start following courses to learn other life skills. Maybe a bartending course or dance lessons. Just learn new stuff and enjoy it while he does it. (S9) - Weekend PT 2 - Job Posting - Grapehead - 07-22-2018 If the NSFL were to suddenly close its doors and shut down for good there would be a lot of very good football players who would be out of a job. For many of them though it shouldn’t be too big of an issue. A large portion could easily find continued work as a professional in another league. An even larger portion of them have a college education that would provide them a skill to leverage in the business world. For Damien Arnold his years spent at the University of Michigan left him with a degree in engineering that should leave him with no trouble finding work. Arnold says he continues to study on his free time now, and that his plan would be to find work as an engineer after he retires from football. So if his plan is already to go on to use his degree, then you can assume if the NSFL up and shut their doors Damien Arnold would be just fine. It would have to be something I’d actually be motivated to do, something that I’m interested in. Being from Georgia, I’d probably do something with peaches. Yeah, peaches it is. I’d get a big ass farm with all kinds of animals and vegetables and stuff too like corn or sumin’, but the main thing would be a huge peach orchard, stretching as far as the eye can see. And yeah we’d can those peaches up and we’d make peach cake and peach cobbler and pear pie a la mode with whipped cream and a cinnamon sugar glaze on the crust. Oh man my mouth is just watering thinking about these peaches. It would be peaches all day every day. Or maybe I’d just open a couple of Chicken Fila franchises and call it a day. I do love those nuggets. (S9) - Weekend PT 2 - Job Posting - Molarpistols - 07-22-2018 If the NSFL were to disband, Gus T.T. Showbiz has a solid backup plan already in place. While Gus was at Pomona College, he ended up studying pharmaceuticals and marketing to further his career as a pharmaceutical salesman. Aside from that, Showbiz already has a side business going with his best friend, Shawn. The two run a private psychic detective business and have solved several crimes for the Santa Barbara police department. The NSFL wasn't Gus's plan initially, he was pretty content with pharmaceutical sales and the psychic detective business, but decided to give football a shot while he was still young. It certainly paid off, as Gus was selected by the Kansas City Coyotes 2nd overall in the DSFL draft, and then by the perennial Ultimus Contenders, the Orange County Otters. He's already made several million in his contracts, and he's put that to work for him with a diversified portfolio of stocks and bonds. He’s spent his entire life grooming himself to play professional football and it would be quite the shock without it. Luckily, Taylor has planned for his life after football. He graduated from college with a degree in sports medicine under the plan that some day post football he would become a physical therapist. What a gig that would be. Not only does he still occasionally get to work with athletes, but he’ll never have to worry about playing on nights, weekends, or holidays. Want to take a day off? Go for it! He’s always been very interested in how the body works and how to make it function better, and being a physical therapist would scratch that itch as well. Not to mention, the pay is decent as well. Not anywhere near as nice as the veteran minimum in the NSFL, but hey, he’ll take it. Maybe I’d play indoor arena football? Maybe play in Canada in the CFL? I know there’s some lesser American leagues out there that’d pay top dollar to get an NSFL star WR on one of their teams too. But if I had to go the route of not playing football at all, I’d go back home to the Dominican Republic and become a fitness trainer. There’s a lot of unhealthy people back home, and I’d like to use my expertise to help the community I come from get in much better shape. I wouldn’t charge them too much, if at all. Meanwhile, I’d start training to follow in my father’s footsteps and become a professional wrestler. I love the sport and I’ve never been in better shape to give it a go. My dad always wanted me to play football, there’s more money in it, but if the entire football world closed down? I think he’d be elated to help me achieve my dreams in the squared circle.
